More than 40 right-wing talk radio hosts from across the country gathered in Washington Tuesday today to pressure Congress and the Obama administration to slam the health care door on illegal aliens, even though the door wasn't open in the first place!
This got shuffled in all the rada-rada about Sen. Al Franken, but Dick Morris hung up on Thom Hartmann (KPTK m-f, 9a-12p) Tuesday.

Scheduled to talk about his new hit book Catastrophe (about the devastation wrought by the 6-month old Obama administration) Morris called the back line of the Hartmann show as directed by his publicist, but when he heard Louise say, "The Thom Hartmann Show," he hung up.
Right-wing listeners got a shock Monday night when they tuned in to hear their weekdaily dose of canned Bill O'Reilly (9-11p) on conservative robo-talker KTTH... only to catch hours of the reasoned, educated, and very liberal tones of Air America's Thom Hartmann.
Hartmann usually inhabits progressive station KPTK from 9a-12p, m-f.
Bonneville spokesperson, Stephanie Furer denies it was a rogue robot or a drunken or disgruntled board-op. "It was a glitch," she said. "It's fixed now."

It's a quirky list; made to promote the magazine's influence in the industry; and to sell syndicators those gnarly full page ads to plump up the fragile egos of those perpetually needy talk hosts. It's dominated by conservatives, naturally.
What are the criteria? You've gotta be working plus, as the august editors always say, their "painstaking compilation" is based on courage, effort, impact, longevity potential, ratings, recognition, revenue, service, talent and uniqueness.
A new eco-doc, The 11th Hour (it opened Friday at the Egyptian Theatre) was created, produced, and narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio.

Tube-Check: Since most in the broadcast biz know there's nothing more exciting than watching a guy do a radio show, we offer this alert that Air America Radio's Thom Hartmann Show will get the "Full Monty" video/radio simulcast treatment from cable's C-SPAN channel tomorrow (8/31) from noon-3pm (ET). Hartmann, who has been independently syndicated for the past five years, joined AAR in February to replace former Talk radio host-turned-Senate-candidate Al Franken. Both AAR and C-SPAN callers will be able to participate in the radio/TV simulcast. The show also airs on XM and Sirius Satellite Radio.

defamatory language used by radio personality Michael Savage against
the immigrant community."
