right-wing blogs we like
The Reagan Wing Hearin lies the real heart of Washington State Republicans. Doug Parris runs this red-meat social conservative group site which bars no holds when it comes to saying who they are and who they're not; what they believe and what they don't; who their friends are and where the rest of the Republicans can go. Well-written, and flaming.
Orbusmax inexhaustible Drudgery of NW conservative news
The Radio Equalizer prolific former Seattle KVI, KIRO talk host speaks authoritatively about radio.
We wrote a long piece for political site Publicola on Kirby Wilbur, the new GOP state chairman, and erstwhile KVI talk host. Read it here.
Kirby talked to us about all manner of things, including the Democrats' PDC charges against him. But for us, the takeaway was this:
He says wistfully, “If [Fisher] called tomorrow and said we want you back on mornings for a quarter of my old pay, I’d tell the Party in a heartbeat: ‘I’m outa here.’”
Our old pal, the Jesus-mouthed, Tacoma-based, dirty trickster, and ex-KVI talk host Floyd Brown is working the failing ballot recount campaign of Joe Miller, Sarah Palin's handpicked teaparty bagger Senate candidate for Alaska.
Always helpful, Floyd jumped into the fray, volunteering his considerable experience in skewing and schmutzing election results. You can bet, Floyd's there merely to see to the honesty of the process... to count ballots for the good of the order, blessed, would-be shit disturber that he is. Who's Floyd Brown, you ask? Read his reviews:
He's “one of the nation’s dirtiest political strategists” (USA Today); "the lowest form of life." (George H.W. Bush) "a slimy thug for hire," (George Stephanopoulos). Read our Floyd Brown file here.
Thursday’s radical, precedent-overturning, Supreme Court decision from the same old men who gave us George W. Bush will open elections to uncontrolled floods of corporate money, and is being crowed over all over right-wing media.
It was a huge victory for former KVI talk host Floyd Brown, the evangelical Tacoman (University Place, actually) notorious for smutz campaigns against Democrats, famously at his apex with the Willie Horton ads that helped beat Dukakis in 1988.
Make no mistake. We're now in the middle of a bloodless coup – the
takeover of an entire nation by the hate-America crowd – a cold-blooded
gang that despises America's prosperity, our standing in the world, our
trust in God and our generosity and goodness. ~~ Floyd Brown
After a brief hiatus, our old friend and Northwest homey, Floyd Brown is back.
It's an inconsequential book. There's no new information, and it neither asks new questions; nor anything of its readers. (Plus, there are no pictures, always a disappointment in a geezerly book about radio).
It's Censorship, The Threat to Silence Talk Radio by Brian Jennings and we waited until we could get it new at Amazon for $5.52. (Advice: don't pay retail for this dog!)
Taking a moment from wall-to-wall coverage of the Octomom, Sean Hannity's website has a poll:
What kind of revolution appeals most to you? The Hannitized ditto-heads are voting, and so far, 22.22% favor a Military Coup; 35.56% are for a War for Secession; but 42.22% are for good ol' Armed Rebellion.
Is this another go at mainstreaming the far, far right with an uprising of the militia windbags, the exurban goons w/guns, those beer-gut revolutionaries with the mail-order long guns converted to fully-auto?
Don't laugh it's happened before, and not that long ago ... as the crow's feet fly.
A Bible verse is taped to a whiteboard in Floyd Brown's office: That is why for Christ’s sake I delight in weakness, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties.
"Sen. Obama's spokesperson Robert Gibbs said the only
reason they won't limit themselves to public financing is because of my
TV ads. I will agree to immediately cease all 527 activities if Obama
will live up to his earlier commitments to accept public financing,"
We wouldn't counsel the Obama campaign to begin any anticipatory breath-holding activities.
Quotes from our morning with Republican schmutzer Floyd Brown filling in on Kirby & Co. (KVI m-f, 5-9a) last week. You can say say most anything that early in the morning, and usually no one notices.
(Photo: Mary Beth and Floyd Brown: better than Hollywood sex for 25 years!)
~~ Floyd: [Obama to Hillary] "The dream ticket will not happen, I don't want you anywhere near my campaign." (Don't know why this didn't make national headlines -- this scoop is exclusive to Floyd, he either talks to Obama, hears voices, or pulls stuff out of his ass. You decide).
~~ Floyd says he told Bill Maher: "Bill, you are not happy with
sex. You go out and have sex with all these women -- every time I come
to the studio, you got a different one on your arm. You will not enjoy
sex the same way I will being married to the same woman for 25 years." (You can make book on that, Floyd.)
