TV News Check is reporting Fisher acquisition by Sinclair is all but a done deal, incuding 13 full-power and seven LPTV stations.
"Sinclair Broadcasting won a bidding war against LIN Media to buy Fisher in a deal finalized in the wee hours of Tuesday night, according to sources." The story continues: "A spokesman at Fisher’s public relations firm, Sard Verbinnen & Co., said the company had no comment on rumors and speculation."
No word yet on the state of Fisher owned KOMO AM/FM, KVI, KPLZ. It is likely they will be spun off after the sale. The deal was reportedly worth $371 million. Fisher also managed Classic King FM.
I wish the best for the troops in the trenches at Fisher's TV stations. What a deal!

Does the psychopath CEO get a golden straitjacket?

Fisher hasn't "managed" KING-FM for years now. They went to a listener-supported business model.

From what I am hearing radio was thrown in to sweeten the deal. Just like a prize in a Cracker Jack box, I guess.

Maybe if Sinclair doesn't find the radio operation profitable, perhaps KOMO-AM/FM, KVI & KPLZ ought to be sold to Cumulus Media. Perhaps it could put Talk programming back on KOMO.

Sinclair is an all American company that puts FAMILY values first! We will miss Fisher but this is a good replacement.

Hopefully South Sound Broadcasting (97.7 mhz Oakville, WA.) will bale-out of their relationship with Fisher, before the "righties" take over.
