As
a provider of Engineering support for Radio and TV Stations (and having
been a Station owner), I have always tried to keep an open eye to what
is happening in broadcasting and try to estimate where broadcasting is
headed. Almost everyone tends to protect the "status quo" because of
it's comfort zone, for what they have done in the past and what they are
(still?)doing. I've always looked at the habits of the youth/late high
school population as my guide post for what the future might be
demanding, as dictated by their formative years and habits. The
nostalgia and warmth of broadcasting has certainly changed and will
continue to change. An open eye to realize the changes, and an effort
to adapt to those changes, just may be the key to staying in business?

(3/6/2013 10:30:12 AM) The bulk of radio haters who comment at this forum regularly must be terminated Clear Channel or Cumulus people who never seem to offer any alternatives. The woman who is getting so much attention for her totally unsubstantiated opinions isn't an authority on anything. The aftermarket shops will do a great business installing am/fm radios if the manufacturers skip them. |
