Legendary Seattle Top 40 DJ, Program Director, station owner, hydroplane enthusiast, alcoholism treatment pitchman, and (most importantly) friend of BlatherWatch Pat O'Day is heading in for brain surgery Thursday. From MyNorthwest.com:
O'Day's family feared the worst on Monday when he lost memory and use of his fingers. He took a ferry from his San Juan island home to the emergency room in Anacortes.
Doctors discovered a benign tumor was pressing the right frontal lobe of his brain against the skull.
Medication has already improved 77-year-old O'Day's condition, and surgeons believe the tumor is easily removable.
O'Day, 77, for years a mainstay of Old Seattle Radio Saturday, certainly has the best wishes of all of us in the Seattle radio community, listeners and broadcasters alike, as he faces this latest challenge. Add your good thoughts in the comments!
Pat
Wishing you a speedy recovery and hoping to hear your voice again on KJR with Gas talking about Hydros or the early days of radio.

Preston: Actually, Pat is wealthy enough that he's probably one of the few who'd be unaffected by the law. He's also pretty conservative in his politics. But a lot of other folks in the future who will face the same situation he does today will benefit hugely from today's ruling.
None of that, however, is to the point of hoping that Pat himself has a speedy and full recovery.

Wishing you a successful and Speedy Recovery Pat and don't think about the SCOTUS decision on Obamacare.
The ship will be righted in time.

Politics aside, Pat I wish you a very speedy and successful recovery. It's not time for you to leave us, having put such an indelible mark on the minds of many in this area. You were very influential in promoting my single back in the 60's and I'm grateful for that. You truly ARE a Seattle-area legend. Rest easy my friend, you're one in a million.

Pat is a class act and a legend. We are grateful to have someone of that caliber call the Puget Sound his home.
Just to hear that beautiful resonant voice on the radio is to immediately take you back to those special moments you had in the car with friends or family.
Keep fighting Pat, you have sooooo many fans out here.
