Despite Limbaugh’s assertions that everything is fine, current events suggest otherwise.
Advertisers continue to issue public statements confirming they will not run ads during Limbaugh’s show. In the past two weeks, Proactiv, Papa John’s Pizza, Kohler, Fisher Nuts, and Arby’s are among some of the advertisers to issue statements to this effect.
Limbaugh, who hired a crisis manager last month, recently took to Twitter (@RushLimbaugh) and attacked an advertiser by name for excluding ads from his show.
Earlier this week, it was announced that the popular Philadelphia station WPHT currently carrying Limbaugh’s show will replace it with a local talker. Limbaugh is expected to be relegated to a relatively small station located just outside Philadelphia, but in another state.
I miss Hood.

Let's see, Rush is down one station. Olberman is just down...
Posted by: Puget Sound Blathers | April 12, 2012 at 07:22 PM
Don't be dense, Mr. Pasta.
Posted by: Truth-seeker | April 12, 2012 at 07:27 PM
ooops, you're right. i should be specific.
Olberman is out on his ass, thanks to Al Gore.
Posted by: Puget Sound Blathers | April 12, 2012 at 08:08 PM
Huckabee will soon be on 200+ stations - starting next week. Rush is still on here to the chagrin of the lib progs.
Posted by: KS | April 12, 2012 at 08:44 PM
Predictions, predictions. I find conjecture of this type to be anti-advantages.
Posted by: Finis Hominis | April 12, 2012 at 09:17 PM
"hired a crisis manager..."
Hahaha. That's funny. Rush in crisis. Guess he better get out the oxycontin.
Rush is a crisis.
Posted by: Truth-seeker | April 12, 2012 at 09:32 PM
You’d think a crisis manager would be a permanent fixture at the Limbaugh concern.
Posted by: Finis Hominis | April 12, 2012 at 10:38 PM
maybe he could hire Olbereman, he has plenty of time now what with the umpteenth network having once again canned his ass. plus, no one is more experienced with crisis than Olberman. and they now both can talk about how much they hate Al Gore.
A real Odd Couple Reality Show in the making: Rush and Olby. I can actually replay the Odd Couple theme with a sloppy cigar smoking Rush and a persnickety Olby.
Posted by: Puget Sound Blathers | April 13, 2012 at 06:01 AM
Fisher to Rush: Don't touch deeezz nutzz!!!111!!
Posted by: nameless | April 13, 2012 at 08:34 AM
Rush is like persistent jock itch to the liberal progressives that won't go away. Oxycontin or hoof and mouth could not deter him so far. He has the amplitude of 1,000 Dori Monson's..
There is additional entertainment potential if Olberman and Rush should get to do a point-counterpoint snippet every day or at least every week. It would be entertaining as both are extreme and polar opposites. Olby would have to be sedated so as not to go off the reservation. Bathtub boy would demand a high salary with all kinds of outlandish percs that Rush could afford and the half-life of this endeavor would be 1-2 fortnights. LMAO !
Posted by: KS | April 13, 2012 at 10:05 AM
the term "bathtub boy" seems to come from the Log Cabins who frequent here...
Posted by: MW | April 13, 2012 at 10:40 AM
hahaha, classic projection from ks.
Posted by: Montego | April 13, 2012 at 10:40 AM
spot on, KS
Rush and Olby are real polar opposites but equally buffoonish.
the only difference is that Rush is actually marketable and palatable to a wide segement of the country whilst Olby is relegated to the uber nutter worldview ie the Bush lied kids died, Bush stole the election, Bush behind 911, etc etc etc.

Takes one to know one, MW and Montego. In actuality, there are a good # of homophobes on the left but the mainstream media buffoons would never admit that, and it seems like you both have projected yourselves in that way. Way to go !
Posted by: KS | April 13, 2012 at 12:13 PM
"takes one to know one..." How old was I when I last heard that juvenile phrase? KS, you really don't know how to discuss a topic, do you?
Posted by: Mary | April 13, 2012 at 12:29 PM
The new affiliate for Rush, formerly owned by Harold "It's The End of the World As I Know It" Camping has a pretty good signal and their HQ and new antenna will soon be right downtown/Center city. Rush picked up the stations he lost in Hilo and Pittsfield MA with outlets in Fargo (a mere 96,000 watts on FM) and Ft. Wayne and is still around 600. Talent on Loan From Oxys still has a huge presence.

KS, I'm rubber your glue. Nah, nah, nah!¡11!
Posted by: Montego | April 13, 2012 at 02:53 PM
Do as I do, not as you blog - eh, Montego. Talk about juvenile phrases.
Mary, Back at you, with the juvenille meme. Go aheard and bring up a substantive topic and I'll offer a substantive discussion or are you afraid to discuss something for fear of criticism ?
Posted by: KS | April 13, 2012 at 05:49 PM
That should be "Do as you blog not as you do, eh Montego ?
Posted by: KS | April 13, 2012 at 05:51 PM
"Rush and Olby are real polar opposites but equally buffoonish.

So there is a bigger market for right wing buffoons?
Not something to boast about I think.
Posted by: ExPatBrit | April 13, 2012 at 05:55 PM
...bring up a substantive topic...
It is not my blog. The topic is Rush. Can you talk about him without resorting to puerile silly talk? If you can't defend him, then wait to post until you can. If the guy is so great, tell us what that "great" is? You're only defense for the guy is an offense. That works in football. But in adult discussions, it gets us nowhere. That's the neener neener Montego and I are pointing out.
Posted by: Mary | April 13, 2012 at 06:32 PM
Nice catch, Brit. That left them speechless.
Posted by: Truth-seeker | April 13, 2012 at 08:57 PM
Goodness KS, Montego is snarking you, wake up.
It’s no wonder you are talking up the popularity of an asshole.

Now THAT is the classic case of Pot Meets Kettle. 'Mary' tells us it's not her blog but then proceeds to lay out her rules for posting.

we could say the same thing about the denizens of Blatherwatch for Rush or Dori.
I watched Olby for laughs. He was the Ted Baxter of the Bush years. Watching him and Al Gore go out it in this hair pulling contest is damn funny.
As for Rush, yeah he is a buffoon and yeah there is a big market for talented buffoonery. Middling level buffoonery gets you a smaller market. Witness 'HotTalk' types like Randi or nasty souls like Mike Malloy.
They try the same Rush tactics (my audience is soooo smart/discerning, the periodic 'idiot' call reciting talking points to allow the Host to smack 'em around, etc etc etc)
If you want to hear a good host, listen to Ronn Owens of KGO.
Posted by: Puget Sound Blathers | April 14, 2012 at 07:07 AM
it's just damn amusing to watch the faux outrage over Rush --the Left's version of the WAR on Christmas that the Right dredges out. Hell yes, Rush makes boorish comments, etc. But to give the other side a pass makes many of the usual suspects here look disingenuous at best. I don't care for Rush and don't listen to him.
Posted by: Puget Sound Blathers | April 14, 2012 at 07:19 AM
A little sensitive, Puget Sound?
Posted by: Truth-seeker | April 14, 2012 at 08:31 AM
actually, just enjoying the show.
Posted by: Puget Sound Blathers | April 14, 2012 at 08:39 AM
Sounds like heckling to me.

and do yourself a favor and make sure you try the prime rib buffet after 6pm...

If you are bothered by the Rush topic, why not find a blog with an Olbermann topic? Or another topic. And please don't tell me who to listen to. I doubt your notion of "a good host" would match mine. I can make up my own mind, thank you.
Posted by: Mary | April 14, 2012 at 09:57 AM

Ready to go beddie-bye, KS?
Posted by: Truth-seeker | April 14, 2012 at 08:52 PM
Who cares? The PPMs demonstrate that nobody listens to talk radio. Those who do are primarily bitter, broke fifty-something white males, hardly an attractive advertising demographic.
Posted by: OneLessFixie | April 14, 2012 at 09:19 PM
It’s clear now that the pillpoppingfatdrugstimulatedhardon owes his profits to agglomerating radio stations to broadcast from. Now the advertisers consider the negative publicity and withdraw their business, hence monies, those radio stations are dropping the massive anal cyst. And so your hero trips up…sad sad day.
Posted by: Finis Hominis | April 14, 2012 at 09:49 PM
funny how it isn't news when clowns like Olby not only lose stations but lose their gig.
buffoonish rush limbaugh drops a station and it's cause for celebration.
Posted by: Puget Sound Blathers | April 16, 2012 at 06:44 AM
Christian programming on WKDN Philadelphia (area) ended at midnight last night. They went into stunting, playing bits of REM's "It's The End of the World", most notably the start: "That's great it starts with an earthquake..." Camping's failed prediction had earthquakes going time zone by time zone across the world. Brilliant!
Supposedly all Hannity all the time for a few days or weeks then Rush, etc. will be added to the new WWIQ 106.9, with a pretty good signal. Rush and Hannity beat out
liberal talk (other than-taxpayer funded NPR, that is) by a mile.
Posted by: Bob Nelson | April 16, 2012 at 07:17 AM
So there is a bigger market for right wing buffoons?
Ex-Pat above nailed it.
Posted by: Truth-seeker | April 16, 2012 at 10:03 AM
yeah, cause left wing buffoonery is so far outside the mainstream few but the most ardent, knee jerk, loyal Dem talking point slaves can listen to more than a few minutes of Randi!, Malloy, Olberman, et al without tossing their intellectual cookies.
so yeah, Ex Pat nailed it.

Puget Sound, we are busy at work on a thread about Keith Olbermann leaving Current TV, if only to keep posters from continually hijacking the comment thread to talk about him. We want to be sure we have the facts and are pursuing both sides of this story.
Posted by: The BW Crew | April 16, 2012 at 05:02 PM
We also want to REPEAT our request that posts on Blatherwatch address the opinions of the people who post them, and NOT the people themselves.
Posted by: The BW Crew | April 16, 2012 at 05:07 PM
Good BW Crew
KS and I will await the results of your work with eager anticipation.
until then, i'll be sure to post some leads for you all to work off of.
have a nice day.

I'll be awaiting BW Crew's further research about Olby's side of the story, while supplementing the posts with comments on message. Good luck with that - it ought to be a doozy...
