Premiere Radio Networks, distributor of Rush Limbaugh and other right-wing talk radio shows, sent a very interesting memo to its affiliates on Friday.
The emailed memo lists 98 major corporations that have requested their ads appear only on “programs free of content that you know are deemed to be offensive or controversial (for example, Mark Levin, Rush Limbaugh, Tom Leykis, Michael Savage, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity).”
Those 98 companies, some of which had already publicly announced they wanted their ads off of Limbaugh's show: 21st Century Insurance, Ace Hardware, Acura, Advance Auto Parts, Advil (All products), Alacer/Emergen-C, Allegra (all products), Allstate, Ally BankLa Quinta, American Express, Autozone, Boston Beer, British Petroleum, Bullfrog Sunblock, Caltrate, Centrum, Chapstick, Clorox (Pinesol/Homecare), Cortizone, DeVry, Discover Card, Domino's Pizza, Exxon/Exxon Mobil, Farmers Insurance, Ford, Geico, General Motors (All products -GM Certified Service, Chevy, Onstar,Cadillac, etc), Gold Bond (all products), Grainger, Green Mountain Coffee, H&R Block, Hallmark, Honda, Hotels.com , IBM, Icy Hot, Intuit/Small Business, JC Penney, Johnson & Johnson (AllBrands), Kohl's, Lifetime, Little Caesars, Lowe's, Luxottica, Macy's, MasterCard, McDonalds, Midas, Napa Auto Parts, National Realtor, NBC-TV, O'Reilly Auto Parts, Office Depot, Office Max, One Main Financial, Orkin, Outback, Preparation H, Progressive Insurance, ProNutrients (all products), Prudential, Radio Shack, Rent-A-Center, Rite Aid, Robitussin , Sam Adams , Sam's Club, Schiff - Sustenex , Schiff – Digestive Advantage , Schiff – Mega Red , Schiff – Move Free , Scotts Miracle-Gro (all products) , Sears (All products) , Sony, Staples, State Farm , Sterling/Kay Jared Jewelers, Subway, Takeda Uloric, The Home Depot, ThermaCare, Toyota, Turbo Tax, Twinings of London, Tyson/Wright Brand Bacon, U. S. Postal Service, U.S. Army, Unisom, United Healthcare, Visa, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Wells Fargo, Wrigley, and Yahoo!.
Some of these advertisers are just laying low to let things blow over, but for now, this has to be worth millions of dollars being lost every day. If they do stay off his show, Limbaugh can't help be hurt by that.
Nevada’s infamous Moonlite BunnyRanch brothel in Carson City allegedly has a plan for Rush Limbaugh to take advantage of his now-ubiquitous comments about Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke. Ranch owner Dennis Hof told Reno’s KRNV-TV that he is willing to sponsor $1 million in advertising on the talker’s show to “let him redeem himself by being nice to legal prostitutes...Now is his chance to fix things. If he comes out now and supports the BunnyRanch and real prostitutes, legal prostitution, it might make him look good.”On the website (you'll have to do your own Google search for that one) - which promotes itself as a destination for “Sexy Girls, Great Drinks and Fine Cigars Since 1955” - Hof writes, “Let’s show Rush what real legal prostitutes are, if he’s so enamored by using the term. Now that dozens and dozens of sponsors have left the show, we are ready to advertise. It’s a perfect fit for someone who so flippantly uses the word(s) ‘slut’ and ‘prostitute.’ If Rush turns us down, then instead of talking about real prostitutes, he would rather call innocent college women prostitutes. The nerve of him!” The BunnyRanch ad (which can be found all over the internet), parodies typical hotel ads, with a folksy voiceover announcing its amenities: “Whether you are staying for a weekend full of threesomes, or just 30 minutes for a little five-knuckle shuffle, you can be assured that at the Moonlite BunnyRanch, we’ll leave the red light on for you.”
Where, oh where is Jessica? For the past few weeks, our investigative minions have been poking around the studios of KIRO radio bribing people with bags of Casava chips, boxes of Grissinis and a gross of Sparrer's Sausage, but nobody is talking about Ms. Gottesman. (image: Jessica Gottesman)
All we know is her last day was on a Tuesday (who quits on a Tuesday?) almost exactly a year from when she was hired, and it is all hush hush. Did she decide to "spend more time with her family? Did Dori (a girl's name) Monson (KIRO M-F 12p-3p) throw his bantam weight around and get her fired because she patted the top of his head one too many times? If anyone has the skinny and would like to share, we invite you to email us at the link above. RR
LinkedIn profile for Jessica Gottesman says: "Air Talent at Sirius/XM Satellite Radio"

Radio-Info.com reports that Premiere Networks, which syndicates the Rush Limbaugh show, told its affiliate radio stations that they are suspending national advertising for two weeks.
Rush Limbaugh is normally provided to afflilates for free in return for running several minutes of national advertisements provided by Premiere each hour. These ads called “barter spots.” These spots are how Premiere makes its money off of Rush Limbaugh and other shows it syndicates.

Wow, that’s an ‘ell of a list. I hear Limbaugh is so stressed he had to take a day off. Didn’t he have a heart attack awhile back?

Jessica - we know you are watching. Please give us some dish.
Posted by: Dark & Stormy | March 13, 2012 at 07:21 PM
That's a whole lot more than I wanted to know about Jessica Gottesman.
Posted by: Erictheeditor | March 14, 2012 at 12:25 PM
Gottesman does her own country music show on Sirius. no joke. i heard her say it.
Posted by: Tommy008 | March 14, 2012 at 01:35 PM
Well, it's Tues and they have Ursula doing the news and they don't have any interactivity with her, nor do they mention Jessica's name.
Posted by: jameschan | March 14, 2012 at 02:00 PM
On her last day, Ron and Don said "Jessica is moving across the street, so, good luck to her"
What's across the street?
I know there's an Azteca there.
Take that for what it's worth.
Posted by: Ken | March 14, 2012 at 03:03 PM
somebody in the building told a friend they offered her a new contract with a 30-40% salary cut. She said "no thanks" and walked.
Posted by: Where's Waldo? | March 14, 2012 at 07:26 PM
So she must be working at the Azteca asking, "Do you want chips with that?"

who is shocked? a little overqualified to be fawning and bantering alongside Dori's "great comedic skills". I don't think it was Monson's idea to have her in that role- either the suits decided to go back to the old school show, or Dori did pull an ultimatum. I really don't believe he likes the woman although he faked it pretty well. The Cornell law degree, Top tier radio market background, a bit intimidating for the little peckerwood.
Posted by: Tommy008 | March 15, 2012 at 11:52 AM
Dori is a bit too "girly" for my tastes.
Posted by: Mr.'as his long, strange trip through poverty nears its end" | March 15, 2012 at 01:39 PM
People still listen to Dori? Not snark. I just can't believe there is an actual 'market' for Dori's schtick. Last time I listened to the dude (w/ the girly name), I think I lasted less than 2 minutes. I heard his squeaky voice, ranting about some lame topic and I immediately knew, nothing had changed.
I mean, WTF, is he just encapable of change?
Side note: Does he still have a dog named Starr? ::snort::: now that was great radio. Stories about his dog. Oh and basketball. And playing flag football w/ his buddies. . Oh and I bet he still thinks the Gov of WA is a POS.
I haven't listened to him talk about Obama. Bet Dory thinks BO is a muslim, Kenyan, socialist, Nazi. I hope Dori didn't become a birther. But I can hear the old Dorster posing a thoughtful question about EXACTLY where BO was born.
Yeah, I'm real sure my time is best spent elsewhere.

Vern, is spending time bitching about people better time spent?
Posted by: Billy boy | March 16, 2012 at 09:34 AM
Yesterday Dori started flogging the "spring spheres" story from last year and I just changed the station.
Posted by: Mysterion | March 16, 2012 at 01:16 PM
@Mysterion,
I did the exact same thing when he came on with the spring spheres BS. At least KOMO was talking about something that was relevant.

Jessica should have paired with Dave or John Curley. I loved it when Jessica with Curley. sounded like they were having a good ol time.
Dori thinks he has the funniest show in town...big HA! i don't think so. Keep dreaming dori.
Miss Jessica I miss ya... you bring great news!
