Restaurateurs/chefs Tom Douglas and Thierry Rautureau's weekly Seattle Kitchen will return to KIROFM Saturday, January 7, at 8a.
Not a lot of info yet, but apparently Saturday's show is live and will be reheated at the same time Sundays. It will replace the unfortunate Dori Monson's Ossimadio.
The original Seattle Kitchen was dumped in March of 2010, after a five-year run on KIRO's Saturday afternoons. Tom Douglas is the chef/owner of an impressive number of restaurants and enterprises in Seattle, including Dahlia Lounge and Etta's Seafood; Thierry owns Rover's and Luc.
We like them because we like food; and they are cooks and also... have great chemistry on-air together. Thierry is also an infrequent stop on KUOW's Weekday, probably a lot more infrequent after this.
Good news!

this must just chap the hide of Monson , having his new weekend venture replaced by someone im sure he loathes and sees as a lib elitist. I remember the parting shot Douglas took at Monson when he called into Dave's fireworks telethon shortly after being fired from KIRO. hahadori hahadori a touch of class back on weekends to replace Dori's boorishness.

Yea! hope it's like it was before they left, though they only have one hour, now. That was some real homegrown radio, I looked forward to every week.

COOL, these guys always had a solid show and featured lots of local yokels, from chefs to farmers and in between. 8 AM is kind of early, though, but, very glad to have these two uber Chefs back; it's great radio. Plus, as an aside, I'm in the flooring biz, and over the years, our firm has dealt with Tom on various projects and he (and his crew) are always well informed, sharp, super polite and nice and real people,,,,real Seattle people. Tom is the real deal, what you see is what you get...

8 am is ridiculous for a cooking show.
