Yes! the best Iowa caucus... ever! UPDATED!

UPDATE: Perry is still in, Bachmann is out. Thank-you, sweet Jesus, thank-you!

Romney, stinkin' up the tiny, tiny lead, taking the withered trophy on to New Hampshire. Santorum (repeat for emphasis) SANTORUM! statistically tied to Romney's stinkin' tiny, tiny lead. Ron Paul, the  coming up close behind. We're in for a long haul... and that's great for the President.

Perry's gone, Bachmann's neutered (or would the proper word be speyed?) so evangelicals, who make up 60% of the Southern-based Republican party who hate Romney more than sin itself, will coalesce now, around Santorum (SANTORUM?!) and squeaky ol' Ron Paul will help Newt Gingrich shovel dirt on the proceedings.

The deep, dark rents in the Republican Party will never be more evident, as the rubber of the primaries hits the road to November. (author's note: hee hee) 

A battered and scarred Mitt Romney will emerge... and as he crawls off the GOP battlefield to claim victory- he looks up to see a billion $ worth of carpet bombing let loose on his skinny ass by President Obama.

Tom douglas returns to KIROFM

Restaurateurs/chefs Tom Douglas and Thierry Rautureau's weekly Seattle Kitchen will return to KIROFM Saturday, January 7, at 8a. 

Not a lot of info yet, but apparently Saturday's show is live and will be reheated at the same time Sundays. It will replace the unfortunate Dori Monson's Ossimadio.

The original Seattle Kitchen was dumped in March of 2010, after a five-year run on KIRO's Saturday afternoons. Tom Douglas is the chef/owner of an impressive number of restaurants and enterprises in Seattle, including Dahlia Lounge and Etta's Seafood; Thierry owns Rover's and Luc.

We like them because we like food; and they are cooks and also... have great chemistry on-air together. Thierry is also an infrequent stop on KUOW's Weekday, probably a lot more infrequent after this.

Return of the king: dori kicks ron & don's ass in the ratings

After all these years of Don O'Neill pomping around braying that The Ron & Don Show (KIROFM m-f, 3-7p)  is number one in the market... seems Dori Monson (KIROFM m-f, 12-3p) has passed them in the vital age 25-54 ratings in December. It's the first time in many years.

Expect some pomping and braying from the Dori quarters, if it already hasn't started.

Wha Hoppen!? Don't know for sure what's in the PPM-toters hearts, but it seems it's more about R & D's decline than Dori's improvement. Things have reportedly slid at the Ron & Don Show after Don fired their high-powered producer, Jason Stein last year. It was an exercise of personal muscle-flexing, and happened rather easily because R & D were on top and could do about anything at KIRO.

Luke Burbank on CBS sunday morning

How can Luke Burbank be kept as a local radio talk host. We'd guess for somewhat less time than we've had with say, John Carlson, Dori Monson, or Bob Rivers. Where is he going... and when?

Welcome KVI: seattle's newest old talk station

Starting Tuesday morning, KVI's new "Smart Talk" will start talking smartly with KOMO-TV's Elisa Jaffe and Mark Christopher as hosts of the Sunrise Seattle.

Then comes syndicated consumer blabbermeister Clark Howard, 56, who will be live, but, unfortunately, talking about his carburetors and CuisinArts from Atlanta, Georgia!

Also live but also local (yea!) is Buzz with Scott Carty offering a talk alternative to Dori Monson from 1-3p in case you don't care for Michael Medved (KTTH m-f 12-3p) or BBC Newshour (KUOW m-f, 1-2p).  

We have great hopes for Mr. Carty, 41, who's rumored to possess a sense of humor and who says he loves to "write for the ear and have intimate conversations with microphones."

That may sound creepy, but actually that's a good thing- the best writers write for the ear; great broadcasters develop Freudian relationships with their mics.

A View Ridge resident, Carty lives within the city limits of Seattle. Another good thing for a Seattle broadcaster, by our lights.
