Live & local radio. Live & local pizza. Live & local bookstores, live and local banks... you know the drill.
First there was Transfer Day, Black Friday, then Cyber Monday. Now, there's the 2nd annual Small Business Saturday, the day small people support small businesses.
Pledge to shop small on Nov 26th.
Just bought a couple of things online off Etsy from a local artist..stayed away from the mall or the big box stores...

Its time for the Occupiers to get a clue and Occupy Congress in DC or locally in Olympia. That's where a lot of the 1% responsible for our economic state are located.
The big box stores will retaliate against them as they did in several big box stores today. Buying local is a good thing and will always support small businesses, but if these people really care about a free market system (which I have doubts that they do), they would go to the source of our problems - Congress and/or the State Legislature, who have passed laws to cripple our economy. They have also led by example with their crony capitalism and abuse of taxpayer money.

Yes it is time, if you followed the news that is where the Occupy movement is heading next, to the Capitol.
"Occupy Olympia, the tent city protest in solidarity with the Occupy Wall Street movement, is planning to “take the capitol” on Monday, according to its website. It is planning for an influx of new people into its camp in Heritage Park on Sunday and take the protest to the capitol on Monday."
