Styble was a boring self promoting creep-Hoax to Hoax(Coast to coast) is a much more interesting program.I listen to Ken Scramme after listening to Dave/Luke on Kiro. Can't stand the weasel that comes on at noon @ Kiro

Cueburner

KIRO must be thinking this competition from KOMO just couldn't be any better for them.
Wonder if the old iron is in the coals warming up for yet another KOMO rebranding?

AprilMayJune

What are we going to do when it snows?

DJ Allyn

Dammit. This really sucks, because I listen to KOMO early in the morning on the weekends because I don't want to listen to the colon cleanse commercials on KPTK.

Speaking of KPTK, I've just about had it with them. First we had to suffer through preemptions of the Randi Rhodes show for Storm Basketball, now we have to suffer through the preemptions for the T-birds.

Aren't there already a glut of sports stations in Seattle? No wonder AM 1090 doesn't do well -- they chase us away with their BS.

StarTheWonderDog

KIRO reigns!!! and Dori rules! KOMO is in a state of indecisive disarray.

Ellywood

yeah well, KIRO doesn't report stuff like they used to. I have a friend at Seattle city hall, another on the police force, and they say KIRO doesn't send people to any stories now, they just steal stuff from other stations. Sounds like tuff times all around. And, no news at nite, just rehash of Coast-to-Coast over and over and over. its boring.

Erictheeditor

KPTK has Bill Press live 3-6 a.m.

As for KOMO, we are talking about overnight when, unless there is a big fire, there is not much local news and listening isn't even monitored by Arbiton.

Mike Barer

Phil Hendrie will be back in the market soon!

DJ Allyn
KPTK has Bill Press live 3-6 a.m.

Sure they do, Mondays thru Fridays. I am talking about the weekends, the same time that KOMO is doing reruns of Carlson and Schram. It's just that I need something live and interesting as I lay awake in the early mornings. KOMO was my backup plan for the weekend mornings. Now it might as well be the colon cleanse infomercials.

Werlini

For the record, KOMO has been doing the Schram/Carlson replays for a lot longer than just a week.......

DennisN

@Werlini - absolutely correct. Been more like a month now. But since the Seattle R-I board is populated by mostly has-beens, wannabes and never-wills they can't be bothered to discuss what's happening TODAY in Seattle radio.

And it IS a shame that they dropped live overnight news. Fact is, Fisher hasn't had a competent radio programmer in the building since Paul Duckworth was unceremoniously shown the door.

12th Man

I bet you that KOMO will cut back on all-news coverage by limiting it to Morning & Afternoon Drive & start going back to talk.

idiotBystander

I am really upset about this. I used to listen to the live news all night long and now it's gone. How can you be a news station when you take away the news? They sure haven't taken away that dang K-A-R-S Kars for Kids ad. Maybe we can raise more money than the ad costs and pay them NOT to play it?! That is the most annoying advertisement EVER! But then, I guess since I won't be listening anymore, I won't have to worry about it.

Moonbeam

If KOMO went back to airing talk shows, they need to add the following shows & hosts:
John Batchelor
Red Eye Radio
Bob Brinker
Larry Kudlow
Kim Komando
At Home with Gary Sullivan
The C.A.R. Show
Cigar Dave
ABC Perspective
ABC's This Week(The audio portion of the TV program)
ABC World News This Week
Master Handyman Glenn Hagee

T-Bag

Two ABC News Radio affiliates such as KXLY in Spokane & WDAY in Fargo, N.D., who also work together with their TV sister-stations, KXLY/4(Spokane) & WDAY/6(Fargo)-WDAZ/8(Devils Lake-Grand Forks, N.D.), who are also ABC affiliates also air talk shows.

    pacific nw talk stations

    • KIRO 710ESPN Seattle 710 KHz
      Games and sports-blabber
    • KIROFM 97.3
Multi-format: news and nearly all local talk. This is where classic KIRO AM news talk radio went... hopefully, not to die. The home of Dave Ross & Luke Burbank, Dori Monson, Ron & Don, Frank Shiers, Bill Radke, Linda Thomas, Tony Miner and George Noory.
    • KUOW FM 94.9
Seattle's foremost public radio news and talk.
    • KVI am 570 KHz
Visit the burnt-out husk of one of the seminal right-wing talkers in all the land. Here's where once trilled the reactionary tones of Rush Limbaugh, John Carlson, Kirby Wilbur, Mike Siegel, Peter Weissbach, Floyd Brown, Dinky Donkey, and Bryan Suits. Now it's Top 40 hits from the '60's & '70's aimed at that diminishing crowd who still remembers them and can still hear.
    • KTTH am 770 KHz
Right wing home of local, and a whole bunch of syndicated righties such as Glennn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Michael Medved, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Lars Larsony, and for an hour a day: live & local David Boze.
    • KPTK am 1090 KHz
Syndicated liberal talk. Stephanie Miller, Thom Hartmann, Ed Schultz, Randi Rhodes, Norman Goldman fill in the large hole to the left on Northwest radio dial.
    • KLFE AM 1590 kHz
Syndicated right-wing 2nd stringers like Mark Levin, Bill Bennett, Mike Gallagher, Dennis Prager, Dennis Miller and Hugh Hewitt inhabit this timid-voiced neighbor honker for your radio enjoyment (unless you're behind something large like Costco).
    • KOMOAM
News, traffic, Ken Schram and John Carlson.
    • Washington State Radio Stations
Comprehensive list of every danged AM & FM station on the dial.
    • KKOL am 1300 KHz
Once a rabid right-wing talker, except for Lou Dobbs, it's all business....
