We don't want to poop on Dori Monson's picnic (actually we do) but his "scoop" about undercooked burgers at Burger King is stupid on its face and disingenuous, too.
(photo: an allegedly undercooked BK burger photographed by a Dori dittohead. Note unmelted cheese)
Seems there's been a "disturbing trend" at BKs, around the Sound, of undercooked burgers due to faulty flame broilers and undertrained staff.
The Tacoma Piece-County health department caught it, the state health dep't is working on it.
Somewhat later, Dori (KIRO m-f, 12-3p) heard about it and predictably, lit his hair on fire... but, as always, it's a controlled burn.
Dori's dilemma: find some outrage against government despite it was obviously already doing its job. So he settled, incredibly, on that government was not pressing its boot hard enough on the necks of the private business involved here.
You see, Dori is usually all libertarian about government staying out of the private sector's business, letting the free market do its magic, blah bliddy blah. You'd think he'd be for letting the stupid people who eat at fast food be culled from the herd by eating those undercooked sandwiches and suffering the consequences. Like this fat woman, whose eating habits he was so adamant about judging.
Dori went all "investigative reporter" ... "covering" this, and "my source tells me" that, yet it's unclear what Dori and "his reporter" Brandi Kruse actually got and why it's all that newsworthy- nobody got sick or anything, and all the public health authorities were already working it when Dori and his sources heard about it).
He had to gin up some outrage, so he went with government hasn't been big and mean enough with the burger chain.
It's another example of the "opportunethics" of Dori Monson, and old-school talk radio. It's not based on the issue, but rather on the volume of the noise you can raise about it. It's pretty much all talk radio is.
(We gotta say: we like undercooked meat of all kinds, but don't eat in cheap burger franchises so we don't expose ourselves to e coli epidemics ... In our own home, however, the burger bleeds profusely as we stuff it into the family pie holes.)
That looks too good for a BK burger. It actually has ingredients you can identify. Dori liked to brag about taking his family to France and bringing his own food on board the plane. This was of course pre-911, so I have figured out why he went insane after the terrorists took away his right to fly like a cheap-ass SOB overseas.

I'll be more interested in hearing my master's call on the Longview longshoremen strike and criminal activity over jobs being taken by another union, the Operating Engineer's Union. Unions fighting among themselves, what's next. Oh, I'm sure all of this will be quelled by our President's speech tonight? Jobs, jobs, jobs, jobs, jobs, jobs, jobs, jobs! (8 times, as Dave Ross continually points out) by Mr Hoffa. People's patience may be, like unemployment compensation benefits, running out.
Hate to do it, but I must now agree with Tommy in that I believe Mitt Romney will be the one. Ms PALIN eat your heart out. Notice (last night) how Michelle Bachmann was reduced to a lightweight by the power on that stage.

My oh my, reaching back to the memory machine for a pre 911 recollection of Dori's travels. For sure Star must love the fact that you are such a dedicated Dori Listener there Joanie 'Sombrerro.'

The tea party won't allow it, he can't explain his support of Mass Health care to them and it's doubtful a Mormon will pass the smell test with the rest of the religious right. The unions are not fighting in LV,in fact all the ports in the Seattle and Tacoma are shut down today. The company wants to bring in their own union,
"The International Longshore and Warehouse Union believes it has the right to work at the facility, but the company has hired a contractor that's staffing a workforce of other union laborers."
otherwise known as a "coompany union" Read your history fido. Harry Bridges lives!

History, my son is being made as we speak, and it's only going to get worse (or better depending on your stance). I've certainly heard of Harry Bridges, I'll be darned if I've ever heard of "coompany union". btw, Local 701 is a legit operating Engineer's union. Read YOUR history spiral-shit.
Doesn't EGT have rights to use the union of choice? To be determined in Court, obviously.

Star the Troll gets sexual gratification fantasizing about Newt Gingrich lapping Rick Perry's Santorum out of Mitt Romney's ass.
(The post is about a burger. Even though a burger is eaten from a bun, not everything is about Santorum.)

The burger undercookers are Mexican.
This will turn into another episode of Dori ethnic paranoia when he postulates that this is another Mexican plot to overthrow 'R. Nation'.
Or Muslim.

Actually, I interpreted the topic to be about "opportunethics", defined as what was allowed the Rev Al Sharpton by MSNBC when they gave him his own show "PoliticsNation".
Such an eloquent voice from your side, must make you proud.

Typical Monson listener.

Eat half.
Take picture of burger in case me get hungry later.
Eat other half.

In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory,[2] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[3] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[4]
Posted by: Ethics Department | September 08, 2011 at 12:57 PM
Aaah yes Einstein but you see (ala your hero Mr Clinton) it all depends on what the definition of "on-topic" is. Would you not agree that in the case at hand, "opportunethics" just might have something to do with the topic, since it's outright mention in the heading. Hahaha, but nice try.

DTSDH, I'm eating lunch and that was a mental image I really, really didn't want to have.

LTSDH, sorry!

You say opportunethics, I say appealing to base greed and self interest. HATE the government when they take your money and give it other people. LOVE the government when they're looking out for your interests. I hope Ayn Rand is right, because that's what we get whether we like it or not.

I've got something that DM can sink his angry mouth around. He gets his panties in a twist daily over big government and how lowlifes are sucking HIS money out of the government. But after listening to his mouth about lowering his house payment a couple hundred bucks a month I believe he's benefiting from BIG governments making a home affordable program subsidized by guess who, BIG GOVERNMENT.

Ahhhh please.... Now where talking about under cooked hamburgers. Like I said before, opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one. I remember when Jack-n-Box had the same problem. It was investigated & later corrected. Now we're making it a issue because of someone's personal & political beliefs. Can anyone prove this one hamburger was not undercooked. It does happen. Has anyone ordered any restaurant food/beverage without some sort of personal complaint. If you say no, you're telling a mistruth or you live in a cave.

Oh really? I get iced tea (unsweetened) from any drive through that carries it and it has always been just fine. You exaggerate too much.
Posted by: Marion | September 08, 2011 at 09:12 PM
Marion, "unsweetened" iced tea? You gotta be kidding. How can you screw that up? You really need to get out more. Now, that's really sad. Take some friendly advise; go out and live it up a bit! Get a life! OMG, unsweetened iced tea ..... ? LOL

Laugh if you want to asshole. Im diabetic.
Posted by: Marion | September 08, 2011 at 10:04 PM
Marion, my wife is a Type 1 diabetic. I woundn't go there. I just can't belief in your life experience you've never had an unsatisfied meal or beverage in some way or form. I'm a chef. Do it for a living. Hell, I've done it & been there. It wasn't meant to be personal. It just didn't make sense.
Posted by: Der Moderate | September 08, 2011 at 10:59 PM
Iced tea machines (that make your 'unsweetened' iced tea) are notorious e-coli breeders. They have to be cleaned regularly which they often are not.
Enjoy your next iced tea! (I never order it. I've seen where it comes from.)
