The titans of the porno industry are shaking in their glittery boots as pretend presidential candidate Michele Bachmann (R-Mars) takes the pledge to protect America from adult entertainment by working as president to ban it.
And that's not all she's sworn to.
The vow was written by an Iowa group and asks Republican candidates to agree that being gay is a choice, sex is inherently better after marriage, and makes them promise they’ll provide “humane protection of women and the innocent fruit of conjugal intimacy... from human trafficking, sexual slavery, seduction into promiscuity, and all forms of pornography and prostitution, infanticide, abortion, and other types of coercion or stolen innocence.”
So far, only Bachmann has signed.
Industry lobbyists reacted predictably, Friday. The Seduction Into Promiscuity Institute (SIPI) issued a terse statement, "We're not willing to debate such basic, precious rights and freedoms as those to beguile, inveigle and debauch."
(photo: Rep. Michele Bachmann)
"Jobs would be killed," said "Choch" Mañana, spokesman for the Exploitation Guild of Louisiana, "Good jobs. Naked jobs."
The Anti-Conjugal Relations League and The Club for Infants withdrew previous endorsements of Bachmann. The White Slavers Council (SSC) stated, "Rep. Bachmann seems ignorant of the jobs that the adult mandatory volunteerism industry gives this country."
As always, the Bachmann campaign did not return BlatherWatch calls.
Didn't take long - I still had it open on my screen. The Daily Beast
Bachmann's Unrivaled Extremism
Rep. Michele Bachmann's impressive performance at Monday's debate has catapulted her near the front of the GOP pack, but the radical roots of her ideology remain poorly understood. The Daily Beast’s Michelle Goldberg reports.
If you want to understand Bachmann, this will give you a lot of insight.
Posted by: joanie | July 11, 2011 at 09:51 PM
Keep blowing smoke, but you don't need to worry. Bachmann won't get the nomination for POTUS. Looks like Gov. Perry will be throwing his hat into the ring in the next few weeks.
More standard liberal progressive talking points...
Actually, the leftwing media makes it seem like the conservatives resemble the Taliban. However, they are simply projecting themselves - the trioka (Reid, Peelosi and Obama) are the real Taliban who are attempting a coup to take American into serfdom. I still don't believe they care about producing jobs - a lot of talk and calculated political actions that continue to flip the bird to small business.

One more thing: people who believe this earnestly can be very influential. I don't underestimate her at all. I've watched a couple of rallies. She's good. It's like you know what she says is questionable at the very least but she says it with such conviction and passion that she sells it. If you haven't watched her, do. Let me know what you think.
Posted by: joanie | July 11, 2011 at 09:59 PM
KS, do you write from a script? What liberal talking points? We are discussing a candidate for the Presidency. I don't care if you think she's electable or not. That's not the conversation.
What is it with you?

I'm watching the National and a small girl was shot because two rival gangs were fighting. So many young people without jobs. What do you about young people and violence? Give them jobs. We're going to be seeing more and more of this as people have time on their hands: idle hands are the devil's tool or something like that.
Now talkihng about the Royal Family and former prime minister Gordon Brown whose phones were hacked by Murdoch. Somebody sold a "green book" to "News" including the phone numbers of VIPS. Wonder what they were paid for it.
And that's the way it is tonight. Off to bed. G'night.

Oh yah, I seen that one. I’ve read her wiki also; she seems fairly out of touch. She has to have the ability to edit her wiki, when you combine the two it’s damning.

Posted by: joanie | July 11, 2011 at 10:20 PM
KS, bills originate in the HOUSE. Nancy Pelosi is no longer Speaker. Reid is in the Senate. So, your comment about how they and Obama have not produced any jobs is telling. Shouldn't you be complaining that Speaker Boehner and his minions have not produced any jobs? Can you name ONE bill that is set up to specifically create jobs, and I dont mean giving more money to corporations since that just goes into their pockets as "bonuses"?
Got a real laugh today when I heard Mr. Speaker call the wealthy corporatists "job creators." Good one.

joanie, all of the entry level and labor intensive jobs that the black kids used to get have been going to the Mexicans that come here against our laws.
Our kids can't get jobs so they sell drugs, bang and steal. Your white kids go to college and get the great jobs that our inner city kids can't even comprehend.
This is exactly as the Democrats want it as it keeps the niggars on the dole. If our kids are going to eat and get a apartment they better vote Democrat and get their welfare checks, section 8 housing and food stamps.
It really is all most of us know. Sell a little weed and crack on the side and we can get a car, flat screen, clothes and some tunes.
Would all be good if we could just get our sons to quit killing each other. But there are only so many turfs to go arround.

Good Post opinion on Weiner and media parasites like Murdoch's crew and Breitbart.
Anthony Weiner, victim of a digital mob
By Richard cohen, Published: July 11
A date has been set — and the candidates chosen — for an election to fill the seat of the disgraced Anthony Weiner. To my disappointment, none of the candidates is Weiner himself, who is surely the last bullying victim of the academic year.
...What sort of world is it where a digital Peeping Tom such as Andrew Breitbart gets hold of a picture meant for others and displays it to the world — not to reveal a crime but merely to titillate and mortify? For this, Breitbart even took over a Weiner news conference, acting as if he had done a public service and deserved recognition — maybe a Pulitzer Prize. Rupert Murdoch can make the presentation.
There's more of course. But I doubt the right on this blog could handle more words than this at one time.

very good post, putting Joanie in her place, South T. She thinks we shouldn't pick on the illegals. This is the kind of societal damage ( high black young adult unemployment rates, crime, ( both by unemployed Americans and the illegals) etc, that occurs when we fail to enforce our immigration and labor laws, in the name of asinine political correctness. Joanie loves minorities as an abstract concept, to lecture others about, but gets a little uncomfotable about the idea of having one inside her home.

Posted by: joanie | July 11, 2011 at 10:17 PM
bwhahaha - right, keep thinking that - especially if Rick Perry decides to run. the fear mongering, trash talking, passive-aggressive incompetent President is the clown of the hour.
Speaker Boehner has it right - this situation is Obama's problem. Whether you want to believe it or not doesn't matter, that is the reality. It's his choice to be the obstructionist as he has chosen to do. He is being an irresponsible dick-head on top of being incompetent. I don't see this is going to go away and the independents are seeing his true character. Bill Clinton would have resolved this problem long ago, if he was in the same situation.
Who gives a flying fark about Weiner ? he's out. Murdock is not worth talking about and you are just regurgitating old news - boring...
South Tacoma made a valid point, as the Democratics have always wanted to keep the black community on the plantation and dependent with the pimps like Sharpton and Jesse Jackson who get paid by the DSCC and DRCC and lobbiers to demagogue the black community. The truth can be a bitch, can't it ?
He could have stated it in a more eloquent way though- heheheh

Hah the President just pwned the Republicans. Run up the white flag! Spin it anyway you want KS but McConnell's name is now dirt with the Baggers and other conservatives because he blinked.
Posted by: jovita | July 12, 2011 at 06:26 PM
I had McCormick outed as Gollum immediately. The voice of Tommy but correct spelling and even punctuation to throw us off the scent. I almost posted as much and decided he wasn't worth it. You nailed it Sarah. He has as much success staying away from the blog as he does with stocks. But of course, his signature "round the cauldron go" hysteria was a giveaway.
I would absolutely love for Rick Perry to run. He is so much less of a threat than Bachmann, I would almost pay him to run. Bachmann is a believer. Perry is a true clown. No Perry no way. Trust me. I think Bachmann could be VP. But, you never know in politics. But I guarantee you, no Perry.
Posted by: joanie | July 12, 2011 at 07:10 PM
BTW, jovita also nailed it. McConnell blinked. Anybody heard from Boehner today? You guys wanted $2 trillion and he gave you four. So what's the problem?
South Tacoma? I don't think anybody takes him seriously but you. Stick with losers of you must.
Posted by: joanie | July 12, 2011 at 07:33 PM
Nice Try. Flickr is written by a bunch of leftist clowns. Keep believing Perry would be less of a threat than Bachmann - (in Joanie speak, that means Bachmann would be an easier opponent). BTW - McConnell's proposal is already off of the table - the President already turned down any proposal like his on Monday. Cantor and Boehner did not agree to that either. However, McConnell made a correct statement Obama won't be able to fix this problem during his one term - he's too incompetent as has been proven over and over.
In the latest Zogby poll, Perry does slightly better than Bachmann vs. BO. Both Perry and Romney are even vs. BO. Chris Christie holds a 4-point lead over BO today, if he were to run. If Rubio gets the nod for VP, which is looking increasingly likely, the Hispanic vote will be way more GOP this time around. He could have made this a simple solution by compromising with the GOP like Clinton would have done and bolstered his chances for reelection, but he chose to be a "dickhead" and make it his way or the highway and try to scare Seniors about SS payments in August, which he doesn't really know.
So tell us, who's money is it anyway that we earn - the Government's or our money ?
Posted by: KS blathering for the halibut | July 12, 2011 at 07:53 PM
Polls change from day to day. Yes, Rubio could be a factor.
Compromise? I guess you're smarter than David Brooks. Right? Is th4ere anybody on the right that you're not smarter than?
BTW, we are the government. Remember?

Perry is being supported by a religious nut who thinks Oprah is hiding the Anti-Christ, another one who thinks God created Hitler to bring the Jews back to Jesus, another one who thinks the Statue of liberty is idolatry, and one who says and we have been besieged by debt because in japan the sungoddess had sex with the Emperor and their stock market tanked.

SoTac seems to have a good handle on the relationship between the black community and the democrat party and the adverse effect that relationship has had on his community.
We all know that most of the jobs of young black men are taken by boarder crashers from Mexico, Guatemala and points south.
The relationship is exactly what Lyndon Johnson said it would be.
As for joanie, is Sarah another of joanie's fake people? Joanie screwed up on her Anti-Dori act a couple weeks ago and can't use it any more. What other new ID's are being used the past couple of weeks?

Typical ph(J)oanie, failing to connect the dots. Who was it that pushed out Anthony Weiner? Why Nancy Pelosi and Pres Obama.
From that same article:
'Nancy Pelosi, who heroically put party over principle and, without so much as determining whether a law had been broken, a body found or even the ethical canons of Congress violated, ordered Weiner to be gone. The president backed her, saying that if he were Weiner, he would resign.'
By the way, who was it that lied and attempted to blame others? It was Anthony Weiner. Breitbart went to the news conference to confront his accuser, Weiner. In the end, Weiner apologized to Breitbart. And that is what really ticks off some Progressives.
But go ahead Joanie, why doesn't Weiner run again for Congress? If the folks in his district want him then he should stand for election.
In the end, it was the lying that caught up to Weiner.
So sad you can't connect the dots.

From Bloomberg this morning:
("Job-creator") Cisco Systems Inc. (CSCO), the largest networking-equipment company, may cut as many as 10,000 jobs, or about 14 percent of its workforce, to revive profit growth, according to two people familiar with the plans.
The cuts include as many as 7,000 jobs that would be eliminated by the end of August, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the plans aren’t final. Cisco is also providing early-retirement packages to about 3,000 workers who accepted buyouts, the people said."
TPM:
Cisco's CEO is the ninth highest paid in America, with one-year total compensation of $37.9 million. But by corporate logic, the way to make the company more profitable is to get rid of thousands of workers' jobs without dinging the tens of millions of dollars in pay for the guy who's ultimately in charge.
The other big mainstay of corporate logic, of course, is that there's nothing some extra tax cuts won't make better, and Cisco is hewing to that as well. ThinkProgress reports that Cisco is part of a group of corporations calling themselves WinAmerica to argue for a corporate repatriation tax holiday, in which corporations would get to bring money they've stashed overseas to the U.S. at a sharply reduced tax rate.
Cisco has an effective tax rate of 19.8 percent and has avoided $7 billion in taxes since 2005."
Lay off workers. Pay your CEO tens of millions of dollars regardless of what success or failure you're otherwise claiming. Avoid taxes. Lobby for lower taxes.
Love those Job Creators!

Nncy Grace was playing jailhouse tapes of Casey Anthony having visits with her parents, on her show tonight. These tapes were nothing new, all heard before in the past three years , now gussied up under a racy headline "the raw jailhouse tapes"........ I found this rathwer dismaying and unsettling. The trial is over and the verdict is in. True we're still awaiting her release from jail on Sunday, so technically i guess the spectacle still has some days to go, but does anyone really want to hear any more tapes of the little turd lying shamelessly to her poor parents. How much longer does Grace intend to milk this story? Next week, even after the release from jail, and for weeks beyond that? Whatis the pouint in stirring up more hatred for Anthony? She is alresdy in real danger, once she gets out, not that i really give a crap for her safety . I just think enough is enough.News as to where she's going after jail, whtether she'll get plastic surgerty , or various disguises, now that i'd like to hear. No more tapes of the sciopathic little puke in jail or or sitting in the courtroom , please.
