The titans of the porno industry are shaking in their glittery boots as pretend presidential candidate Michele Bachmann (R-Mars) takes the pledge to protect America from adult entertainment by working as president to ban it.
And that's not all she's sworn to.
The vow was written by an Iowa group and asks Republican candidates to agree that being gay is a choice, sex is inherently better after marriage, and makes them promise they’ll provide “humane protection of women and the innocent fruit of conjugal intimacy... from human trafficking, sexual slavery, seduction into promiscuity, and all forms of pornography and prostitution, infanticide, abortion, and other types of coercion or stolen innocence.”
So far, only Bachmann has signed.
Industry lobbyists reacted predictably, Friday. The Seduction Into Promiscuity Institute (SIPI) issued a terse statement, "We're not willing to debate such basic, precious rights and freedoms as those to beguile, inveigle and debauch."
(photo: Rep. Michele Bachmann)
"Jobs would be killed," said "Choch" Mañana, spokesman for the Exploitation Guild of Louisiana, "Good jobs. Naked jobs."
The Anti-Conjugal Relations League and The Club for Infants withdrew previous endorsements of Bachmann. The White Slavers Council (SSC) stated, "Rep. Bachmann seems ignorant of the jobs that the adult mandatory volunteerism industry gives this country."
As always, the Bachmann campaign did not return BlatherWatch calls.
Included in the pledge:
"Slavery had a disastrous impact on African-American families, yet sadly a child born into slavery in 1860 was more likely to be raised by his mother and father in a two-parent household than was an African-American baby born after the election of the USA's first African-American President."
Michelle, you are NOT smarter than a 5th grader. They could explain to you how families were torn apart and the children sold to slave owners who took them away, never to see their family again. Jesus Christ what an idiot.

Sparky
You couldn't hold your own in a debate with Michelle Bachman.
Posted by: Puget Sound Blathers | July 08, 2011 at 01:25 PM
err Sparkles, Slavery was over by 1865. they had a big war and everything. it was in all the papers. surprised you missed it.
Posted by: Puget Sound Blathers | July 08, 2011 at 01:31 PM
You're right..I forgot that all those children separated from their families were promptly returned, with apologies no less, by the slave owners to those families after the war was over.
You could work right alongside KS writing history texts down in Texas. They like your version down there.

sorry to have rained all over your faux Bachman outrage, Sparkles. It must suck to have nowhere to go as you are locked in to vote for Pres Obama in 2012.
here is something that you should consider vis a vi the Atlantic:
"Liberals should understand that predicament. It's exactly the one in which they now find themselves. President Obama won't face a serious primary challenge prior to Election 2012, but that isn't because he has governed as the left would've wanted. He is trying to keep American troops in Iraq beyond his own withdrawal deadline. His executive power claims are every bit as bad, and sometimes more extreme, than the excesses the left blasted when Bush was responsible for them. The prison at Guantanamo Bay remains open. Warantless surveillance on innocent Americans continues. Whistleblowers are in greater legal jeopardy than they were. The economy is terrible. Health-care reform was more corporatist than progressives would've preferred. We're now waging an illegal war in Libya that'll cost over a billion dollars, even as we prepare deep cuts to social welfare programs. Despite promises to the contrary, the FBI is still raiding medical marijuana dispensaries in jurisdictions where they're legal under state law. Promised advances in government transparency haven't materialized.
The left would be justified in lashing out, given the Grand-Canyon-sized chasm that separates the rhetoric of candidate Obama from the behavior of President Obama. By and large, however, they've kept quiet about the abuses and unlawful behavior of the man who occupies the White House, with a few notable exceptions, compared to their volume and passion during his predecessor's tenure. That's partly because they've focused their attacks on the tea party, and politicians like Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann. "
So go ahead, keep hitting on Bachman. She ain't going nowhere, but go ahead. It's your only monkey trick: faux outrage.

You know, sparky, you should never take anything posted by the talking points gnu as authentic. He pulls it all off rightwing blogs without context. And, yes, it originated as part of a much longer Atlantic article but his vis a vi(sic) was morely likely godlike productions or some other stupid blog. He just passes stuff on like our colons do shit.
Read the original here You might finish the article as well, gnu.
And what's this vis a vi(sic)? Face to face - it has a relationship with the Atlantic? It was by an associate editor of The Atlantic. He's such a fraud just like all these tea party-conservatives. He can't be trusted to say anything honest.

Now, how about a bit of fun with Bachmann's favorite preacher: there's Jeremiah Wright and then there's Bradlee Dean a real sweetheart.

Paul Ryan's $350 Bottle of Wine
Politics Jul 8 2011
Ryan had the misfortune of sitting at the table next to Susan Feinberg, a Rutgers business professor, who didn't share his nonchalance about calling for draconian budget cuts for the poor and elderly by day and then sipping $350-a-bottle wine by night. Feinberg confronted Ryan after dinner and demanded to know "how he could live with himself." Confronted by TPM, Ryan did not deny the story, but lamely pleaded ignorance about the cost of the wine. And he was rather ungallant to Ms. Feinberg, whom he called "crazy."
If there's any justice in the world, Ryan ought to get at least as much grief for this as Edwards got. And if I were President Obama's adviser, I'd suggest that he add $350 wine to that line about Republicans defending corporate jets and hedge-fund fat cats.

poor joanie, such a whack job.
i pull out the salient point and label the article if one wants to read it all. unlike you, joanie, i actually read the full articles or books that i link.
kind of like the 'project gun runner' and pointing out the location of the stimulus bill it was located.
y'all are just ticked cause i am right about your president obama problem. that's okay, go ahead and concentrate your energies on michelle bachman or sarah palin. neither of 'em will be president.

No you don't. You've been found out. And good. I bet you didn't even read Shale's book. And my proof? Your inability to comprehend that he's not my Obama or my problem. In fact, if I kept a rolodex like you do, I'd be able to find that in your own words.
You fish with the Obama bait every time you come onto the blog whether it's on topic or not. And most of the time your line gets caught up in the shoals or the undercurrent takes your boat downstream and we don't hear from you for awhile.
Well, on your way downstream this time, chant your mantra . . . row, row, row my boat hurriedly away, Merrily merrily merrily merrily Obama makes my day.

Very Good comments , Puget.I'm kindly old Dr. McCormick. Tommy008 wanted me to extend encouragements to his group while he's away on holidays. Allow me to update you all. Tommy checked into his hotel in Monaco early Wednesday morning, after a long flight from NYC. What is your problem with some vintner, restaurateur and distributor selling a bottle of good wine Joanie? Not everybody can handle a bottle of Two Buck Chuck, Mad Dog or what ever that box of crap you finish off every weekend.
Even the lowliest of vinyards should be able to profit for the rare great grapes produced to make up for the bad years.
Why are you so jealous or envious of success. I really like the rich white men that I have worked for through the years. They got rich, but they always paid me on time.
You white women don't know how good you got it. You always are complaining about everything.

joanie gives some great advice. quit 'coplaining' (sic)...
here's some better advice: if you are gonna play the spellchecker of the blog, you would do well to check your own work prior to posting. sparkles learned that lesson over at sound politics.LMAO
by the way, it would be nice if joanie (sick) would explain what the heck is wrong with someone spending his own money to buy a nice bottle of wine. $350 is not a lot as far as wine goes.
Posted by: Puget Sound Blathers | July 09, 2011 at 07:47 AM
If your into to supply side economics, sure. You can always say "I didn't know how much it cost".
Posted by: Coiler | July 09, 2011 at 08:17 AM
"$350 is not a lot as far as wine goes."
Maybe not on YOUR budget, but that is a couple of weeks of groceries at my house.
Even Ryan had the sense to be a little embarrassed about it, given his opinions on how we all spend too much and people need to accept life on less money.
Posted by: sparky | July 09, 2011 at 10:20 AM
Where did I complain about it? I posted information.
You see, you make it easy for me to make you look stupid. And, yes, $350 is a lot for a bottle of wine just like $50,000 is a lot for a car even though there are more expensive ones and a lot of cheaper ones - way cheaper and way more expensive. You show your inability to deal with facts again.
As for my typos, when you go there I know I've really taken you down. Your vis a vi was not a typo. First grade teachers know these things. It's all about phonics. Right Sparky?

that was a skilled way to end her political career, I am curious to know more of the whole "pledge" thing and who or how, why it was initially offered to Michele Bachmann ...if it was designed by an Obama/Clinton supporter or themselves even in order to undermine her favor and gain Obama support-because after reading the pledge, I thought of Oprah and Obama, then Bachmann losing support. Obama won the last election by process of elimination, and he/they ran a anti-war campaign to control liberals. Had he not expanded the war to Afghanistan, hired Clinton and Biden whom incidentally voted ("yes" we can) to invade Iraq, now still spending 2 billion a WEEK oversea's while state and federal programs are facing more cuts, arts programs are losing funding plus Obama also attacked Libya-I'd say then Obama is a real winner, and deserves the noble peace prize. In the end he's a decoy candidate- the war machine got what they wanted and Bachmann is a troll and set up. Couldn't help but wonder if now after as she is constantly being told how gorgeous she is in blog posts and by others in public- if she wants them or the public to see her as untouchable sexually-yet insatiable and controlling of others sexual fantasy or thoughts as porn does nothing but to fulifill this. Barf to Obama and this Republican whack job who I would rather see making out with Oprah in a sensationalized over publicized upcoming episode on her (Oprah's) failing cable channel- to help boost poor ratings. Did I mention Bill (Monica didnt play with my dog)Clinton de-regulated the banks and our economy then collapsed years following, or that Bill Clinton also turned radio stations into a joke after removing radio anti-trust laws? Now we have the same song and dance routine on repeat incidently the music business has also COLLAPSED. Liberals are an abused and used bunch of gullible people, easily toyed with. Obama wants an extra amount in donations soon I bet as he collected from "the gays" in New York recently at a dinner where he refused to endorse gay marriages directly, opposed to his position in 1996. I am tired of half assed politicians with deep pockets using the disenfranchized. Anyway the capability to contact Bob Vander Plaats is available through his website. I say ditch OFA (Obama For America) get some friends together and call the offices of subtle hate groups such as these and let them know what your thinking. I do- and have taken the time to "reach out" while in my underwear to "Focus On The Family". Its good therapy. Mind you Dick Cheney and Laura Bush did more for gay marriages in a short amount of time-than a list of Democrats (Laura Bush is a Dem f.y.i). Don't bother with pandering politicians.

Ryan is more concerned with spending other people's money. He paid for his wine with his OWN money.
That's an important distinction. But only a true Progressive would have the gall to want to tell people what to do with their own money.
If he had ordered the wine and then stuck it to someone at another table that would be a more accurate analogy to what the US Gov't is doing and what Ryan is against:
taking care of the Sparkles of today and sticking it to the kids who have no say in the matter.
BTW, Ryan also said that the busybody was a whack job for spying on him.

Ryan is paying for it with tax payer money. We are his employers. A little civics lesson, PS. Unless you think he's paying for it with his rich wife's money?
Posted by: Jeremiah Wright is more Christian than Bradlee Dean | July 09, 2011 at 03:43 PM
Putz never heard of Marie Antoinette apparently.
It doesn't matter if he paid for it with money he got from collecting and returning pop bottles. When someone goes on the record as telling other people how to live their lives, especially when their actions have or can have a huge impact on those people, and then they turn around and do the very thing they preached against...it is called being a hypocrite. He can spend a million dollars on a bottle of wine if he wants to. But to attempt to pass legislation that will have people going hungry while he does that...well, he's on your team, not mine.
Posted by: sparky | July 09, 2011 at 04:12 PM
"He paid for his wine with his OWN money."
With lobbyist money of course. How many of us can afford a $100 glass of wine while demanding cuts in social programs? Does he pay for his own healthcare?

So by that logic, than you can also tell Sparky or Joanie what she spends her money on given that she is also a recipient of taxpayer money for her salary?
That is ridiculous.
Posted by: Puget Sound Blathers | July 09, 2011 at 04:40 PM
True, we all can't afford $100 wines but those of us who can do it the hard way, we earn it. We have a good example on this blog with Tom008 who drives a Mercedes, and makes tons of money in the Market and is able to vac in Monaco and stay at the finest hotels. Oh and don't forget the killing he will make when he is published.
Imagination is a wonderful thing, isn't it Tom008' or should we now address you as Dr McCormick. Bwahaha
Posted by: StarTheWonderDog | July 09, 2011 at 05:05 PM
So you change the defense. First it was $350 isn't expensive and now it's it's his money and he can do what he wants with it. Make up your mind.
I don't make enough to buy $350 bottles of wine without sparing somewhere else just like most of your public servants don't.
Your values will never equal the values of the left and you will never hear a liberal defend $350 bottles of wine over a safety net for the poor and elderly. That's what makes us different.

Lehmann collapsed because it wasn't a chosen financial institution as well. Our government picked winners and losers. That's capitalism, folks.
I love two rivers in Montana: the Smith River on which relatives live and the Yellowstone River.
Maddow on the Yellowstone River debacle and talking to Markey about Republicans 2011 budget bill:
Maddow commented that they propose cutting the budget of the drilling oversight committee by a third. He responded that they began the debate today (Friday) in the House on the Republican energy bill of 2011. They cut wind, solar, biomath and geothermal, hybrids, plug-ins, all electric vehicles. They cut conservation and efficiency. They increased the budget for oil drilling, gas drilling, coal mining. Safety was cut.
That is the mindset of the greedy rich winners of the multi-trillion dollar lottery that energizes the right. They care about nothing but more money.
