Sarah

Oh, excuse me did I say rapture; I meant capture as in all of media's imagination. A Mid-Summer Night's Dream comes to mind when Puck declares "What Fools These Mortals Be"

Zim

Earthquake my ass, I think Allah screwed up again. Anyone see any neked people flyin' into space?

SpudDud

I saw a naked cowgirl, floating across the ceiling...

Old DJ

Google "naked cowgirl" and I will bet you will think you have been raptured.

joanie

I'm guessing this is an open thread since "no rapture" is like "no news." I was enraptured so I guess I'm saved. I was enraptured by the bay.

Listening to The Star Spangled Banner before the hockey game today between Vancouver and San Jose I was struck at how different the Canadian anthem (kind of boring really) and the American anthem are. Ours is longer, certainly less boring, and still celebrates what America does best: war. Just an interesting observation.

I wish we were a boring country with a boring anthem. Then we might all have health care, an education, a job, and respect around the world. Wouldn't that be nice?

Puget Sound Blathers

all you gotta do is find a big strong country willing to be your quasi-army...after all, we're still the policeman of the world. any doubts? just look at Libya.
funny how the progressives have no problem with neo con policy when it's a dem leading it.

Truth

Joanie = YAWN

The Anti-Dori

Welcome back, Joanie.

Puget Sound: Look what being policeman to the world gets you: kids killed, a devastated economy, a military industrial complex for which Congress buys airplanes the Pentagon doesn't want, and terrorists everywhere. I don't recall anybody asking us to police them? Do you?

TRUTH: Get a life.

 Radio Queen

The Star Spangled Banner is about seeing the American flag still flying over Fort McHenry in Baltimore after a night of intense siege and bombardment by the British during the War of 1812.

How curious that anyone would twist its meaning into a celebration of war, rather than a celebration of survival.

so you're on board with president obama's latest foray into Libya and the ramp up for Pakistan?

KS

'Look what being policeman to the world gets you: kids killed, a devastated economy, a military industrial complex for which Congress buys airplanes the Pentagon doesn't want, and terrorists everywhere. I don't recall anybody asking us to police them? Do you?"

So why don't you tell that to your president who has broken his promises about ending our war efforts ? I think PS was being facetious.

Sarah

Don't mind these dimwits Joanie, they'e all just jealous of you and your intellect.

The Anti-Dori

Not necessarily, Puget. Are you? Not sure why everything filters through your brain and comes out "Obama." You seem obsessive about him. Why?

Hi Radio Queen. You try to give Joanie her due but you didn't respond to my last post. Neither did Puget Sound. I thought that odd. I imagine our Alpha understands what the song is about! She said it celebrates war. Again, you equate unequal concepts: survival vs. revolution. Although that might be an interesting conversation, it is too histrionic for my taste.

KS

With that amazing comment, Sarah just ignited the dumbed down echo chamber.

KS

"Not necessarily, Puget. Are you? Not sure why everything filters through your brain and comes out "Obama." You seem obsessive about him. Why?"

Posted by: The Anti-Dori | May 22, 2011 at 08:06 PM

Isn't Obama the commander in chief ? Oh yes, that would be wrong to blame him because it must have all been Bush's fault - right ? Why are so obsessed by Joanie carrying the water for the progressives ? I dismiss a vast majority of her comments out of hand - she has no cred.

The Anti-Dori

Well, it tickles me. Joanie always gets the blog going. If no further word from Puget Sound, I'll sign off.

KS

Hey KISS fans - Gene Simmons opines here;

"When you grow up you find out that life isn’t the way you imagined it, and President Obama means well. I think he’s actually a good guy. He has no f***ing idea what the world is like because he doesn’t have to live there," KISS vocalist and guitarist told CNBC.

"The most pathetic body on the face of the planet." Simmons called the U.N. a "paper tiger" that allows dictators to spread propaganda."

Spot on, Gene...

Jovita blogging from Raptured Island

Yeah KS if I were you, I would count on a has-been, washed up rocker to opine intelligently on world events.
Haw Haw.
and Miss Q you said -after a night of intense siege and bombardment by the British during the War of 1812.- uh, that's what joanie said. The song is about celebrating war. Interestingly when the Quebecois sings Oh Canada, the words are more war like and refer to the motherland of France. Now if they ever ask ya that on Jeopardy, you will win that point!

Coiler

I thought Gene had Herpes? Did he shit in his pants to avoid the draft like Ted Nugent?

KS

You can call Gene Simmons a washed up rocker, but that's just your baseless opinion. I think you got Gene mixed up with Bruce Springsteen, dude.

Liberalism is a mental disorder and Simmons does not have that disease. Better go see your shrinks - you guys are showing seriouis symptoms of it.

joanie

KS, did you know that your posts resemble neener neener on the playground taunts? Sort of thirteen-ish. . .

So's your old man... We got trouble right here, right here in River City.

Puget Sound Blathers

Hey Anti Dori, President Obama is our Commander in Chief. If you want to call it 'obsessed' to follow when and where he commits us to War I gotta ask why you are not similarly obsessed.
It is instructive to see the anti war folks of this blog back flip and change when it is a Democrat President in charge. After Osama Bin Laden was taken out by the Navy Seals, you had Andrew sounding like a giddy teenager over the political ramifications for President Obama.
It was disgusting. Not that Osama was taken out, rather it was disgusting over the glee in how this would score political points.

joanie

Well, the Sound finally admits his sheepdom: baa baa baa.

to follow when and where he commits us to War I gotta ask why you are not similarly obsessed.

That's a simple one: WE ARE NOT SHEEP.

Hahahahahahahahaha. I'm gleefil at his admission. He admits to being a sheep! Baa Baa, Puget! Baa!

BTW, the question I read was about "policing the world." Maybe you forgot the question? And I don't regard "policeman" as soldiers warring although I admit the right does get it terms mixed up.

Tommy008.

Pawlenty mmay be our first post-Trump possibility to have a grownup back in the Oval Office. All the other major 3 candidate possibilities left (Palin, Romney, Bachman, Gingrich) (candidates have unpleasant religious and/or goofball issues....

KS

Watch for Texas Gov. Rick Perry to move into the POTUS race in the not too distant future - he has hutzpah and can communicate better than a former Gov. of that state who became President - to the chagrin of many on the left and a good number on the right.

I like Pawlenty and Herman Cain - don't think they have the impetus to win the nomination though- I could be wrong, esp. if no one else enters. Romney is too establishment and is flip flopper primo and hopefully the TEA party will prevent him from advancing.

Joanie was wrong - Mitch Daniels decided not to run - she was crowing about that last week, but once again ad nauseum - she is on the wrong side. I wouldn't make an issue of it except she dishes it out, but can't take it coming back at her. You progressive sheeple keep letting her be your spokesmouth - too funny...bwahahaha

Truth

SHOCKER...And the winner of the 2012 Presidential Election

Steve Wynn

He'll enter the race in the Fall 2011 with the economy still in a mess and the GOP 'all over the map'.

The guys will save our country.

Puget Sound Blathers

The Daily Caller reports that the Huffington Post, HuffPo’s Sam Stein writes that Jesse Lee, a member of the Obama administration’s new media department, will take on a new role in replying — at times aggressively — to stories that paint the administration in a bad light.
“This week, Jesse Lee will move from the new media department into a role in the communications department as Director of Progressive Media & Online Response,” said Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer in an internal memo obtained by the Huffington Post.

“For the last two years, Jesse has often worn two hats working in new media and serving as the White House’s liaison with the progressive media and online community,” the memo read. “Starting this week, Jesse will take on the second role full time working on outreach, strategy and response.”

Lee is also expected to deal favorably with the “progressive media,” according to the memo."

Good news for Liberals, Talking Points are on the way...

Zim

The only portion of Puget Sound’s last post which was questionably original, I highlighted in bold. And reposted here;

The Daily Caller reports that the Huffington Post,

The rest was unabashedly lifted from the Daily Crapper.
Looks like Pugie is peddling in talking points. What’s that about pot meet kettle?

KS

You have a problem with the Daily Caller ? That's your problem. It's a credible story and will play out. Zim just likes to read his own blather.

They will need reinforcements in talking points. Their shitstorms are becoming more frequent and will continue that way thru Nov. 2012.

joanie

Well, if there's one thing you can trust PS and KS on, it's talking points. Baa! Baa!

Coiler

"You have a problem with the Daily Caller?" Such playground rhetoric

Zim

KS; point is, Puget is relating a meme. Does that escape you? Or are you a distributer of talking points?

joanie

Hahahahaha. This blog has never been funnier. It's so good for a laugh. Does that escape you KS?

KS has been commenting talking points for so long he's on automatic pilot. Thus all the Soros-Algorium BS.

KS

Pot meet kettle.... Evidently no one has anything of substance to diss Daily Caller, just projecting once again because it is not leftwing. Snarkiness is in no short supply. That may fly in the bubble of Blatherblog but it doesn't play well outside of the liberal progressive echo chamber.

Joanie and Coils - such tacticians. You know the playground rhetoric and are well practiced at it. What I wrote will play out - so be it.

Zim

Hey Puget, KS is trying to protect your butt. Are you going to leave you feeble cohort in the open?

joanie

Well, catching up on Rachel from Friday. Wisconsin continues it's anti-=democratic campaign by passing legislation that attempts to disenfranchises citizens without a particular photo ID.

"This will prevent voter fraud" says Walker but the atty gen. did a study in 2008 (2 years long) and came up with eleven cases (8 of which were felons and 3 were votes miscast). Oh, these Republicans are fearful of voter fraud. It's rampant! And now Wisconsin has found $600 million of unexpected revenue. Walker will probably give it to the Koch brothers.

joanie

One more thing: on a more serious note, the world did end for an awful lot of people this morning in Joplin, Missouri.

KS

So, the Koch Brothers are the new boogeyman - that's rich. Down with the public sector unions !

Rachel is the most articulate shill on MSLSD for the American Communist Party aka the Democratic Party of the USA. The Public Sector unions will get back at the perceived injustice by registering fraudulent voters for the next election, esp. in Milwaukee just like they did during the Bush administration. Joanie would be happy with that.

Forced altruism is just despotism with a smiley face...

Coiler

More labels from the label maker.

Zim

”What a top aide to Sarah Palin really thinks” or tweets… reminder to Pugie, provide a link.
