Yeah, where are the jobs?

East Central Pierce County

Weiner is such a partisan hack. What the heck about anything the pubs do is going to take Click and Clack off of the air.
Is he saying that NPR can not survive without government support?
I call bull shit on that.
I enjoy Click and Clack on the occasional Saturday and am far from alone.
What budget cuts of substance is Weiner putting forward?..........
Thought so.

sparky

But where are the jobs the Republicans promised? They said they would show the Dems how it was done.

redneck liberal

Funny that East Central Pierce County should deride Weiner as a "partisan hack". Yeh, shame he's not a true statesman like Inhofe or Bachmann or that demented turd who looks like a turtle. What is it that these idiots do during their every waking moment that couldn't be described as (hyper)partisan (über)hackery???

TitanicTom

Can someone please tell me why we're still involved in Irag and Afghanistan and why we haven't closed Gitmo? Oh yes and exactly why are we now apparently getting involved in Libya? Is this in line with what and whom I voted for. Don't think so!

East Central Pierce County

What about any of them has done anything to improve our nation? They all just spend, spend and spend more. Then they regulate.

sparky

And where are the jobs the Republicans promised? Remember? They were going to show the Dems how to get 'er done! Why did Sen. McConnel say he would not vote for any cuts if they included money to spend on the wars? Why do the Republicans not use their majority in the House to start shutting down the war instead of demanding more money for it? Why do they want to reduce taxes for the wealthy on capital gains??? Where are the jobs?

joanie

What have any of them done about anything? That's the truth. They are all hacks.

Then they REGULATE? After Wall Street DEREGULATION sunk the economy and destroyed this so-called democracy, you have the nerve to post such an idiotic comment?

I can't defend Weiner on this one. It figures the only thing an-acre-of-undeveloped-land like Pierce (chux again?) would listen would be Click and Clack, I'm fine with it. So much more could have been said such as NPR listeners know information that Fixed News listeners along with ABC, CBS, NBC listeners don't know. That would have been more interesting and more informative.

Well, not more informative to the left who already nows it but to right who doesn't seem to know it or to care.

Which brings us full cicle: the American right is an idiotcracy.

I never did like Car Talk.

Obama is a Black Man

LOL....Attack on Libya! Now 3 wars!

Obama was the greatest salesman the world has ever seen....buyer's remorse anyone?

Obama is a Black Man

Great remoinder from Drudgereport.com

MARCH 19, 2011
OBAMA: 'Today we are part of a broad coalition. We are answering the calls of a threatened people. And we are acting in the interests of the United States and the world'...

MARCH 19, 2003
BUSH: 'American and coalition forces are in the early stages of military operations to disarm Iraq, to free its people and to defend the world from grave danger'...

Obama is a White Man

OBIAM still racist after all these years.

Jennifer

God Bless Dr. Bill!

What a steady voice in troubled times.

Rat_Bastard

Weiner is what he is...
But seeing him try to link cutting NPR funding to having anything to do with Click and Clack only seemed insulting to everyone.
It's the fact that NPR doesn't deserve tax dollar funding anymore than any other station.

Andrew

I'm not impressed with this one, he didn't address the programs which are accused of being "liberal", and I thought he was instead going to point out all the actual problems that were ignored so that 'puglicans could pick on NPR for what amounts to .0000003% of the national budget.

Andrew

I heard some pundits talking about why the repugs are avoiding matters of fiscal importance in favor of ideological theater, and they were saying it's what their constituence want.

Conservatives and republicans are only about fiscal responsibility insofar as it means lower taxes for them. The don't have a problem with farming subsidies, or corperate welfare or special breaks for churches. They only seem to hate govt. assistance when it helps someone who's genuinely in need. Republicans are all about sticking it to people who don't share their white Christian cultural values. I never heard anyone accuse Clinton of being a Muslim from Kenya.

joanie

OK, reposting so it will get some notice: another Stewart special

On topic: it's got a schiller connection. :)

ProgBlogJunky

An excerpt from Obama in 2002.

"That’s what I’m opposed to. A dumb war. A rash war. A war based not on reason but on passion, not on principle but on politics.

Now let me be clear — I suffer no illusions about Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal man. A ruthless man. A man who butchers his own people to secure his own power. He has repeatedly defied UN resolutions, thwarted UN inspection teams, developed chemical and biological weapons, and coveted nuclear capacity.

He’s a bad guy. The world, and the Iraqi people, would be better off without him.

But I also know that Saddam poses no imminent and direct threat to the United States, or to his neighbors, that the Iraqi economy is in shambles, that the Iraqi military a fraction of its former strength, and that in concert with the international community he can be contained until, in the way of all petty dictators, he falls away into the dustbin of history."

If you need to be reminded, Obama plugged this speech constantly during his campaign. Definitly not the man i voted for in 2008.

ProgBlogJunky

I always liked Wiener, he shows passion in his House floor rants and you can never complain that he doesnt live up to his name.

ProgBlogJunky

Joanie, catch up okay. Obama has just entered us into another Nation Building WAR in the Middle East. You're not just going to remain silent as if it never happened just because it was the President you voted for are you. We are talking billions of dollars we dont have. The blood of our troops that might be spilled in another far away foriegn land. And you know what happens in this country when we go to WAR. The Industrial Military Complex expands. More billions for the rich is what that means. More billions for them and nothing for the poor who are hurting. Catch up Joanie. Catch up.

ProgBlogJunky

Oh, and while Obama sends our youth to fight his WAR, he is down in RIO playing golf.

sparky

You're right Andrew....meanwhile, I have a friend who would be homeless if she didn't have her deceased parent's home to live in right now. She is slowly selling things on Craigslist to have money to live off of. This is someone who spent many years at Microsoft, but was laid off when they started hiring independent vendors for whom they don't have to pay benefits. She has a debilitating, degenerative disease now and progressively getting more immobile. She would work if she could find a job, most of which have been outsourced. I help her as much as I can, but I can't afford her medical bills. But hay..the Republicans saw the wisdom of attempting to defund NPR and the top 1% got their tax breaks, thank god.

sparky

yes, PBJ, if Obama were a Real Man, he would be out cutting brush.

ProgBlogJunky

If thats what it takes for someone to be a man in your opinion Sparky, then you have issues.

joanie

The muslim thing is a red herring to divert attention from the real crime: stealing the money from Americans and giving it to the rich who think it belonged to them all along. That's all this is about.

sparky

No issues, just a sense of irony (and a sense of humor)...

saint rudy

Just think, we could have elected McCain, whom has no solutions, only criticisoms and Palin, who seems to have gotten an elementary school education from a couple of Universities and they would have solved all of our problems. Wouldnt that be fine?

The Anti-Dori

I beg to differ with one of the left's best spokesman. Car Talk - which I never miss - isn't the issue here.

Still, he's fun to watch in action.

ProgBlogJunky

Well its good you can have a "sense of humor" Sparky as our bravest are sent to WAR again. I guess the troops will be glad to know that as they are dodging bullets fore your freedom. Maybe if you had someone close to you die in one of the Schrubs WARs you wouldnt be so funny for your friends here. But me, WAR is personal. And the more illegal they are, the more personal i get.

ProgBlogJunky

And now on CNN, i am watching that Obama has targeted Gaddafi and sent missiles into his home. After all day his cronys in the Military misleading us Americans that he was not going to be targeted. I say we start impeachment hearings now before he embarrasses us even more than the Schrub did.

Central Seattle

I say we should round up all Gaddafi lovers and throw them in the clink.

East Central Pierce County

Well PBJ, at least, unlike Bush, Obama went to congress before commencing in acts of war.

East Central Pierce County

My goodness. My guy friend just told me that I was in error. Mr Obama did not consult Congress. If that is so, I am shocked. That was one of the issues he had with Chimpy McHalliburton Bushitler.
Well, at least he has not tried to assassinate Q-Daffy with bombs, missiles and such.
Sorry PBJ. It looks as if you are correct one more time.

joanie

You're always in error.

Hey, your breath smells like Limbaugh's scrotum

To be a true Republican, step 1 is to ignore the shame and embarrassment of being shown to be a hypocrite. Sure, your parents and your church have failed, but, who the hell cares. Morality is for pussies. You love swinging in the trees with the other monkeys and the bananas more than compensate for your lack of morals.

South King County

To be a Democrat, you need to have no shame, feel like you never have to say you're sorry and only tell the truth when you are cornered by the law and preach about equality for gays and minorities when everyone should know you are really a racist homophobe..

"Morality is for pussies. You love swinging in the trees with the other monkeys and the bananas more than compensate for your lack of morals."

In other words, narcissistic douchebag - you don't want to have morals.
