We wrote a long piece for political site Publicola on Kirby Wilbur, the new GOP state chairman, and erstwhile KVI talk host. Read it here.
Kirby talked to us about all manner of things, including the Democrats' PDC charges against him. But for us, the takeaway was this:
He says wistfully, “If [Fisher] called tomorrow and said we want you back on mornings for a quarter of my old pay, I’d tell the Party in a heartbeat: ‘I’m outa here.’”
Wow! If I where in the minority party and trying to climb my way back into power, I would find that a chilling response.

Kirby Wilber is just like Sarah Palin.
Ready to be public servants unless the media has a better offer.
Only difference is, one is hot.

I hope Wilbur stays exactly where he is. Washington Republicans deserve a straight-taking Christian former hot-talk host to lead them to the Promised Land.

It certainly didn't take long for the truth to come out: Wilbur has no passion for the Party; he's merely in it for the PAYCHECK, ready to suck up the halfway-decent Republican bucks until yet one more low-wattage radio outlet rolls the dice on a drooling, lisping non-talent with not very much to say. For the GOP to make a comeback in Washington State, they require a man of principles and commitment -- both qualities this mumble-mouthed whale sorely lacks.
Nice pick!

A party job's chair is to massage egos.
A morning host's job is to have your ego massaged.
Big difference.

Make that "a party chair's job."
And my job is to be dyslexic...
