HHAHAHAHA, excellent Sparky

joanie

I think he's just KluelesS.

KS

Get a grip ! Dori did not say he had cancer - get it ? Sparkles - go back and read my post. Jeezus - are you really that dense ? Your reading comprehension sucks bad. Try engaging your brains before you type. Agent back asswards Joanie Moonbeam on night shift chimes in

You are boring the hell out of me...

joanie

And since we're no longer talking about, Dori, check out Olbermann tonight. I'm not and never have been a big cable fan and certainly not an Olberman fan. But if anyone wants to know the facts behind the rhetoric, Keith's got a great list of guests. And read The Shameful Attack on Public Employees by Reich today.

And last but not least, Health care spending increase is smallest in 50 years

and yet

Blue Shield of California seeks rate hikes of as much as 59% for individuals

and if that doesn't convince anyone of the republican priority, here's one more:

Because so many people move to Florida in order to die, and then fail to do so, there is a broad swath of the voting population that just doesn't care about how anyone in the state gets educated. And so Rick Scott's plan to turn Florida's public schools into a giant corporate social experiment isn't going to encounter much resistance. What it will encounter is graft by the ton, since the proposal, as Mother Jones' Stephanie Mencimer points out, is "a fraudster's dream."

As soon as the state starts handing families $5500 a year, it's virtually assured that enterprising thieves will devise various schemes to help them part with those funds, including by starting "independent" for-profit virtual schools, charter schools, and other predatory "educational" institutions. While the idea of privatizing the education system may seem like a big money saver, and no one really loves school bureaucracies, putting that much taxpayer money out there without adequate oversight (i.e. bureaucracy) is a formula for disaster.
It's not just a hypothetical harm, as charter schools in many states have demonstrated. Charter schools get paid by the number of kids they enroll, and they are free from much of the bureaucracy Republicans like to bash so much. All that money mixed with all that freedom hasn't produced much in the way of an education boost: Charter schools perform no better and often much worse than traditional ones. But they have produced a bumper crop of fraudsters.
In recent years, the US Department of Education's Office of the Inspector General has been raising red flags about charter school fraud and embezzlement, a problem that is increasing. In March, the OIG wrote that it had opened more than 40 charter school criminal investigations that resulted in the convictions of 15 charter school officials, with 24 cases still pending. Most of the cases involved charter school operators and employees who falsely increased enrollment figures and used the extra money to bankroll lavish lifestyles. They often engaged in testing and grade-fixing antics to ensure the money kept rolling in. At the time the report was released, prosecutors had recovered more than $4 million stolen by charter school employees and operators since 2005.

The above from an article about Rick Scott, Florida's new ganster-gov.

There's a lot of news out there and it isn't on Fixed News.

joanie

Sorry: Health care spending increase is smallest in 50 years

Wing Nut Daily is reporting “CPAC has come under the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood” according to Wing Nut Daily “Islamism has infiltrated the American Conservative Union” and the wing nuts believed it. I didn’t read the rest because I can’t believe my fellow Amurikans are so damn stupid. You’ll have to read it yourself and give us the run down.

KS

There's a lot of bullshit out there & MSLSD is the place- with bathtub boy - like you, as unhinged as they get, ph(j)oanie and you have that bullshit magnet stuck to your forehead. I see you are very unhappy about the political events that occurred today - it's written all over you. so sorry.

Black Rhino, your puny character and lack of critical thinking has come out. You are a caricature of yourself and will say anything in order to seek approval from fellow moonbats. You read WND more than I do - too paranoid and conspiratorial for my blood. I guess you don't mind the Islamist-ization of this country by the way they are doing it - if that's the case - why don't you go to France ? You sound emotionally charged, but mostly just like to make noise.

Cheers...

BlackRhino

Wow, I think we hurt KSL’s feelings. Poor poop. Get well soon.

Rat_Bastard

Since were on the anything but Dori topic...
How about this bitchin' Ben 10 toy website?

Awesome! TOTALLY AWESOME!!!

Rat_Bastard

Figured you kids here would like it.

Chucks

Joanie, you babbling old fool. What percentage of children enter the first grade in your beloved Seattle Schools actually graduate from high school?
Take out the Japanese, Chinese, Koreans and whites and what direction do the grad rates take with those left?
You knock charter schools yet have likely never visited any. My youngest grand daughter spent K through 4 in charter in Phoenix and is head and shoulders ahead of the kids in her new Renton public school.
Additionally, do you really not believe that money is not misappropriated in the district budgets of public schools all over this state. Come out of the ether woman. Do you really think that every dollar we allocate for your class gets to you?

sparky

KS..you sound flustered. Coiler wasn't commenting on anything about cancer. It was your remark about April 1. Which is there in black and white. Abd has been copied and pasted now, several times. And, also.
(that last part was a Sarah Palinism.)

sparky

Chucks, feel free to give an example of where a board of directors ( school board) has pocketed funds for personal use. Why is there no demand for the same kind of accountability in charter and private schools? A great friend of mine teaches in a private school in Seattle. She tells me often that nobody blames HER if a student does not do well..the parent is all over the kid. Interesting.

joanie

You knock charter schools

I didn't. I linked an article which speaks for itself. You are welcome to dispute the article. Perhaps your daughter attends one of the few that works.

I hope you are more accurate in your understanding of charter schools than you are in your understanding of pensions systems.

And thanks for posting under your own name for a change.

BTW, I think Rhino would call your post a #2 - a mischaracterization of my post.

There are several ways to interpret that. The message was meant to be: "It would have been insidious if he had faked having cancer, but he didn't." Shorter sentences may help in the future, but it's silly to see others get all wee-weed up about something as trivial as this (& myself for a few exchanges). I was responding to the breathtaking stupidity and hypocrisy of some of the statements in response.

BR - yuu specialize in name calling - signs of a lack of a cogent argument and character, guy.

For the love of Pete, another lie? You just called me, Guy! My name is BlackRhino, not Guuyyy. You, you…guy.

Nuyk, nuyk, nuyk.

Anyone glimpse the reading of the constitution today? I had the notion they were too read the original version. But alas it was not to be. I was waiting for Article I, Section 2 where the Founding Fathers wrote,

"Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons."

I was sure the cameras would pan to Allen West. Imagine the look on his face when he realized his vote was only worth 3/5th of all other Persons.

The Anti-Dori

So much for strict Constitutionalism. These guys are frauds.

Your neener-neener posts are tedious. They don't usually start out so early in a thread.

sparky

The Orange Boner and his sidekick Cantor got bored with the "reading" of selected parts of the Constitution and held a news conference...so it's ALMOST as if they didn't really expect people to care about it. Then it was on to other meetings with the Big Lobbyists to find out what they wanted the Goopers to cut in the way of spending and freshly minted laws.
It's so surprising!!

BlackRhino

Well Anti-Dori, its just sarcasm aimed at the unusual suspects. What would you have me do, mischaracterize your posts then laugh as you try to explain the misconception? If you fancy that talk to Putz, not me.

BlackRhino

When they read the Constitution I wonder if Boehner was surprised when he didn’t hear the phrase "We hold these truths to be self-evident."

BR, stop the #2. (projection)

BlackRhino

See Anti-Dori, it works.

Hi ya Putz.

Puget Sound

BR
What's your substantive issue with Dori Monson?

BlackRhino

This from my earlier posts.

Form an office politics point of view, occasionally closed door meetings lead to gossip. And rumors at KIRO tend to leak like an elephant with diarrhea. So it wouldn’t be out of step for someone who attended the meeting to toss out a smoke screen.
Posted by: BlackRhino | January 05, 2011 at 02:48 PM

I don’t think he was fired either or I didn’t mean to suggest it. But perhaps something is afoot, like a move to KTTH or some other sort of prodding from management.
Posted by: BlackRhino | January 05, 2011 at 04:36 PM

Why?

Puget Sound

that's all ya got?

jeez, i thought you found his show boring, didn't care for his on air demeanor, or something related to that.

BlackRhino

Come on Putz, I thought you were looking for a conversation connected to the topic, not fishing for straw-men.

BlackRhino

I’m trying to take you serious. No jokes, just dialogue.

sparky

BR..what did you think of the Orange Boner's pledge to allow amendments from everyone, except for Democrats wanting amendments to the Health Care bill, and that all activities would be open, except none of the bills introduced today will be open, and finally, that anyone who wants to introduce a bill has to show that it follows the Constitution, except none of the bills introduced today did that.

Also, I got a huge laugh out of the news that a couple of the Repubs skipped the swearing in ceremony to go the party of one of the two Reps. and, instead watched it on tv. LOL Today everyone was scrambling to get them sworn in, to make everything legal. Perfect.

BlackRhino

Sparky,

In an effort not to offend the sensibilities of the humorless,(please turn away now) this is what I posted earlier…

Here is something Dori will be talking about tomorrow:
The NPR Exec who canned Juan Williams got Canned today.

"The NPR executive who sparked a public outrcy in October by firing journalist Juan Williams is resigning from her job, the organization announced Thursday.

Ellen Weiss resigned as senior vice president for news on the same day that NPR's board of directors completed its independent review of the dismissal of Williams. The directors recommended new internal procedures for personnel decisions and disciplinary action.

The board expressed confidence in CEO Vivian Schiller's leadership but voted to forgo her 2010 bonus because of "concern over her role in the termination process." Schiller drew criticism in November for saying Williams should keep his feelings about Muslims between him and "his psychiatrist or publicist" -- comments that she later apologized for.

Williams, who is a Fox News contributor, cheered the announcement.

"It's good news for NPR if they can get someone who is the keeper of the flame of liberal orthodoxy out of NPR," he told Fox News, which gave Williams a bigger role as a contributor in the wake of his firing.

"She had an executioner's knife for anybody who didn't abide by her way of thinking," he said. "And I think she represented a very ingrown, incestuous culture in that institution that's not open to not only different ways of thinking but angry at the fact that I would even talk or be on Fox."

Williams was fired by the nonprofit media organization because of remarks about his anxiety over seeing people dressed as Muslims on airplanes, remarks made during an interview on Fox News' "The O'Reilly Factor." The company said the remarks did not meet its "editorial standards."

But the company came under withering criticism for the dismissal because it appeared rash and unfair since other NPR analysts have expressed their opinions
with impunity.

According to Williams, Weiss fired him over the phone without giving him a chance to defend himself in person. Williams said she accused him of bigotry although he was arguing against rash judgments about people of faith.

"She felt that there was no place for me because I crossed the lines of her journalistic standard," he said. "I think what I crossed was her politically correct red line in the sand."

funny that a guy you call 'boner' is kicking your electoral ass.

why don't you go close gitmo or something?

what's going to be really funny is that you are going to see the Repugs get more done than the Dims could with a freakin veto proof majority.
LMAO

Puget Sound

okay i need to go.

Chucks has Agent Joanie Moonbeam working the mid shift so she'll be starting soon and posting loony tune crap that makes the Progressives look bad.

America, is this a great country or what?

Coiler

Your own story said she resigned. Not fired.

Was Williams warned previously about his role as a 'contributor' to the FOX comedy channel?

Coiler

Yeah, go to hell Puget Pimp. You always have to run.

Puget Sound

yeah coils, i am sure when the board nixed her bonus she didn't get the message and resigned?
where the hell do you work, son?
when a board has to even consider giving you a vote of confidence, that even IF you get one, it's time to go.

Coiler

Oh, you came back. Speaking of Boner, he had to run, much like you and let others flub up reading the constitution, including leaving out the 18th amendment. Where are the jobs, Boner?

Williams received more negative emails about his appearances on Fox than other NPR staff.

BlackRhino

alright, post a substantive critique of Monson's show.

Posted by: Puget Sound | January 06, 2011 at 07:56 PM

There you go Putz, fly your freak flag. Putz won’t hold a conversation on the subject. He’s looking for a turn of phrase which he can distort. This is why I don’t take these silly bastards serious, no offence Rat_Bastard.

joanie

Yes, moonbeam is taking over the night shift.

Two reports just in: sputs finally wants to talk topic (substantive issue with Monson) and immediately posts a looooooong off-topic quote about NPR.

Sputs without backup, has to go... Gee, that's a change - not.

I did watch the disgusting change of leadership in the House yesterday. I've never heard such bullcrap from an orange weeper like I heard last night - while dabbing his eyes, of course. I felt sorry for Pelosi who gave him and the right much more gracious credit than they deserved. I'm surprised she didn't choke on her words.

Then, I watch the debate over the House Rules. Clinton's pay-go is now the right's cut-go. Unbelievable. You can now award tax cuts without concern for the budget; but, new programs must be paid for by cuts somewhere else. I wonder who is going to get tax cuts? Anybody wanna guess? And I wonder who is going to have their little programs cut?

Well, the Senate is still in Democratic hands. So, it is all talk and no action just like the promise to pare $100 million wasn't it?

I guess the right can keep partying.

And Coiler, at least he told you he was running this time. That's new.

joanie

AW, geez. Y'all snuck in more posts while I was composing mine. Darn! Mine was supposed to be the final edition.

Besides, we've all got sputsie's number - or should I say numbers (1 though 8)!

Coiler

Yes, he skedaddled.

BlackRhino

Watch the Pelosi speech again; it seemed as if she was goading him into an emotional reaction. Listen for her phonation. When she got what she wanted she smacked him down with the penis envy comment. It has been said, and I do agree, she is not the best of public speakers. But this lady knows how to tame men; it’s no wonder the rebumplikins don’t like her.

KS

Coils - Still waiting to hear where do you work ? Don't be ashamed and don't lie...

Carry on with the freak show. I'll be back.

sparky

hey Mr Tangerine man play a song for me...

Can't you just see those two congresscritters, standing in front of the TV with drinks in one hand, the other over their hearts, taking the oath of office?

I wonder if the media will ever remind people how Orange Julius was on the floor of the House, handing out checks from the Tobacco Lobby to his fellow members, while a vote was going on on whether or not to subsidize the tobacco industry?

Nah....

Tommy008

"ingrown, incestuous culture"- that's exactly what I was gettign at in my posts about NPR last fall. Usual suspects here tried ot divert the topic to bogus anti-semticism accusations, when i dared to mention that NPR seemed ot be filled with Jewish New York libs. The faact that the personnel roster is disproportionately Jewish, at least in comparison to the "national" population (and the radio network NPR is supposed to represent the nation, not New York City) is a curiosity i guess, and possibly the basis of employment discrimnation suits form non-Jews who feel they weren't hired bwcause they weren't in "the club". That is a side matter, however. The main point isn't the fact that they are New York Jews but that they all adhere to a kind of extremely liberal, extremely politically corrrect orthodoxy. That is the basis of the ingrown, incestuous culture Williams is talking about.
