Didn't anybody in the Fisher family see "Wall Street?"

Hedge funds continue to be a scourge of our economy. They are nothing but money machines for the rich and they add little to nothing to our economy and even less in taxes.

Watching Douglas Holtz-Eaken on CSpan from the financial crisis council spologizing for Wall Street and banks. A lot of callers taking issue with him and he's fidgeting and swallowing mightily.

Americans are figuring it out. I wonder where it will all end. People are disgusted.

Progressive Blog Junkie

Its interesting to note that FrontFour is also a shareholder in Huntingdon. Sounds like they want to stay in the Radio business, but hate those that run it and want more control and make a profit without really losing any control at all. What a scam.

Huntingdon is Canadian. I thought foreign companies couldn't have voting control over US radio or TV licenses, even publicly traded ones. How do they get around that?

Progressive Blog Junkie

A movie Joanie? A movie to start off the point you are making. I cant count how many times i called a rightwing knuckledragging neo-con a fool or racist to use a movie like the "Manchurian Candidate" to blast President Obama when he first started his campaign. The rest of your argument was great, but a movie. Embarassing.

Ah, Gg. You know you can't beat me. Yet you keep trying. Still zero on the board. I'm tired of the contest.

Somehow I knew this was all about me. You're smart. But I"m smarter.

Progressive Blog Jumkie

I didnt know we were competing for anything Joanie. Unless you think i'm plotting to take over your role on Blatherwatch. Let me be clear, i am not trying to take over your role here on Blatherwatch. Im through being an "Alpha". I've seen what it could do. And it looks like its getting to you also. The "its always about me syndrome". Or in other words "Narcissim".

Another thing, when you said you were tired with golf retorts i thought you meant it so i quit doing it. But why havent you. Lately you have called me Putts and now Gg. What gives?

Jimmy Boy Clayton

Most likely Huntingdon is interested in Fisher Plaza--since commercial buildings is its specialty. But US federal law does not allow a foreign company to own a communications company beyond 25%. This sounds like Fisher would be bought and IMMEDIATELY would have to sell its media properties. In a nutshell, they are after that supersonic building right across the street of Seattle's icon: the Space Needle.
-- A former Fisher employee.

Jimmy Boy nailed it....even though he has taken Satan's name for his posting name.

Arty Ziff

StillHansome, can you explain the Satan comment for me? I'm apparently not in that crowd...

But, as to the general comments about Hedge Funds being money whores, yes. These people have NO interest in radio, and would seek to liquidate Fisher if the value of their physical assets exceeded the value of their stock...
