With apologies to Andrew Sullivan, we couldn't help but post this shot from our balcon in Guanajuato. We're here on the BlatherWatch Forget The Alamo tour.
We know how arrogant and smug that is. Especially sitting here in our underwear with the doors and windows open in the land of mañana and Bimbo bread while at home in Seattle you're all freezing your asses off.
But... there you have it.
Hood; glad you are having a good vacation. I just happened to check in here, almost missed it because the insulting ridiculis bullshit on here from the republican coolaid drinkers is not worth the investment of my time.

Currently 8F at my location. Just brought the outdoor dog in, against her will, and washing the reek off of her. Take care Mike.

And I'm still headed to BB, my first Thanksgiving up there. I hope it has thawed out.
Also, wrapped my northern pipes this morning - no jokes about barn doors closing after the cows are out please.
I'm currently cruising sites featuring real estate in Wyoming and New Mexico. There's some good deals out there.
Don't hurry back. It's cold. But, school was cancelled today and tomorrow . . . always a silver lining somewhere.

Thanks, Sparky. Happy Thanksgiving to you and to everyone who blathers on the watch.
Umm, any turkeys down there, Michael?

Due to weather, our turkey received a stay of execution. Good thing we bought a prime rib as backup.
Hope everyone recovers from their cabin fever soon, and happy T-day!

Good for you, great picture, and yes we were freezing our asses off for several hours last week when we lost power in Ferndale at 23 degrees with the wind howling! 2 or 3 "La Nina" years ago, we were in Yelapa, Mexico and came back to the first of many snowy storms... It was brutal! Makes the tropical times sweeter though doesn't it?
For some reason,
I have been missing Mike Webb a lot over the last few months... the terrible way he died, of course. I used to listen to his show, during my long nights in an oil refinery. I'm retired now. I called and talked to him several times. He was a compassionate, fierce and proud liberal--and yet had a tortured secret life, as so many people do. One of my best friends is gay--he's 83.
I also loved Bernie Ward, who was called the "Lion of the Left" on KGO radio. He got busted on trumped-up child porn charges and sent away to a prison so his family can't visit him without great expense. His life is ruined... All during during the Bush admin. Two great critics of the Bush regime were silenced... I'm glad you're still here but there will be no one live n' local left for you to critique soon!

nancy, I posted a wwek or so the news reported by Christine Craft, KGO talkhost, that Bernie Ward has finally been moved from the hellhole prison in Tecas to tthe Lompoc California Federal Prison where he should been put in the first place. I agree with you that I'm convinced it was simply meanspierited payback by a vindictive Bush regime to have him located so far away from huis family, where normal policy is something like within 500 miles of the proisoner's family. He is now close to his family, and will get out in three years and some onths. Craft plans to viait him soon. By the way i don't find the "new" W. Bush charming or loveable as he goes about his phony book tour. Still the same mean, nasty little bully and narcissist.
