One bit of trivia about Bobby was that he and Larry Lujack began their Seattle careers at KJR in Jan of '64 on the same evening.Lujack went on to work at Channel 95 for three years and then on to a legendary career in Chicagoland. Bobby Simon left KJR within months. Although it's unfair to compare the two in that respect, Bobby went on to work at KOL and KJR again and also KTAC in Tacoma in the 70's. He was a great guy to talk to.

I understand that he started his career at KAYE, Puyallup while working as a musician in Buck Owens band. He then went to a small town in Oregon. Then he worked at KORD, Pasco, Wa for five years where he truly learn how to do top 40. Then KXLY Spokane in 63. You can hear him do an add on "the real Don Steele" tribute on reelradio.com in 63. Then on to KJR in 64. Then KEED, Eugene, Ore. Then KISN, Portland, WIFE. Indianapolis, KOL, Seattle. Back to KJR, Then KTAC. Back to KOL. Then KTAC again. Morning drive at KZOK, KYYX Seattle. He did fill in at KNBQ,Tacoma as well as KISW. He went back to KJR in 84, Then KTAC. (he really believed in recycling) Then on to Braker Satelite Co where he was heard on 75 stations. I think he went into the photo business after that.

Bobby Simon--The great thing about the Golden Age of Top 40 is that there were great personalities on even outside of prime drive time.

'Robert Theodore Simon'...or 'B.S. for the Grrreat Northwest' was simply one of the best jocks Seattle radio had for a very long time; I was proud to have known him as a friend in my Northwest radio heyday -
