(Danny with Pat Boone, who, he says, "gave rock & roll its legitimacy with our parents"
Danny Holiday DJed at KJR and KOL back in the day, but also at KBSG (now KIROFM) in the '90's.
He's got a show, The Rock N Roll Time Machine, on community radio, KSER FM (90.7) Saturdays from 11a to 1p. It's historical. "A good sub-title would be 'the songs you grew up with and will probably never hear again.'”
Seattle"s most"Eligible Bachelor"...Danny Holiday was one of the original Magnificant Seven at KOL from '65 to '67.Danny's idol was Vancouver's Red Robinson(CKWX,CFUN) whom Danny grew up listening to in Anacortes. In the 80's,Danny in a sense recreated a Red Robinson Sunday nite feature called the Wax Works...Danny called his show on KZOK weekends,The Rock n'Roll Time Machine. It was a natural..he not only loved the music but he knew it up and down, backwards and forwards.
I visited KOL in '66 ...I was a kid who wanted to be a disc jockey one day myself...that's how it all starts. Danny and I talked for more than an hour about music and radio...it was really fun for me and I never forgot him.

Does Pat Boone have a box somewhere in this picture?

When did he work at KJR? I remember him at KOL as Seattles happiest bachelor . I think he once worked at KJRB and I remember him at KTAC. I understand he once did "fill in" at KING-AM.

...and a long tour of duty holding forth evenings at KBSG.
He was part of a great lineup at KOL in the mid '60s, which included Buzz Barr, Don January, Rhett Hamilton Walker, Dick Burch, Dave McCormick, Dex Allen and Tommy Vance. I think Les Biegle and Don Watson were part of that group, too.
And let's not forget the news guys -- Don Hughes, Bill Munson and Ray Hutchinson. And the traffic plane, the KOL SKY SPY.
Scratching for every inch of ground it could take from across-the-Duwamish competitor KJR, KOL was innovative and fun to listen to.
