A Fisher salesman told a reader yesterday that KVI will announce, Monday, a flip to liberal talk, oldies, or, as many expect, Spanish language.
He says: "Apparently dip-shit-extraordinaire (and sales director) Bob Boyd has been walking around speaking Spanish, if that means anything."
It's like the "chatter" the intelligence agencies hear among the terrorists they're monitoring. When it gets above a certain decibel level, agents begin to believe it.
We've been hearing chatter for the last two weeks that something huge is to be lowered on KVI... we keep hearing it'll be in a meeting at 2:30, Monday or Tuesday.
What we know for sure is: a) KVI has roughly the same number of listeners as your average Bearcat Police Scanner. b) no business can bleed indefinitely.
(Got KVI info? Share it: [email protected] com. Discretion assured).
Can't believe the station change! C to C was the best and most infromative thing on talk radio. We definately don't need oldies, we have had KIXI for so long why would you need more. Dumb move!

Conan;s monologue tonight was an embarrassing bomb with polite tepid laughs and sometimes faint applause after each "joke",,,,,, it does not look good for this show.....herky jerky, unfunny dork

Man, you're pissing in the wind. His target demographic is about the same as TBTL's. Saying you don't like Conan is like saying you can't find the appeal in sponge bob square pants, or the taste of spaghettios doesn't agree with your pallet. These things, they're not meant for you my friend.

not sure if any of you all like to read, but the new late night war book by carter is wonderful.
you'll learn a lot about all the machinations behind it all.
i never was a big conan fan -loved his max weinberg music group- and greatly prefer john stewart to all of them. although i am a huge jimmy kimmel fan.
jay leno is bob hope like. he machine guns through two dozen jokes and if you don't like any of the first few somewhere in the bunch is one that you may chuckle at. i stopped tuning into him a long time ago.
dave's wit is wonderful but i just dont'take the time to watch.
but tommy, andrew is right. somethings are just not meant for one generation which is why another generation finds it hilarious. the nipple dance, the master-bating bear, etc of conan's is 'funny' 'funny' stuff to a certain demographic.

and the deal with conan is that on a cost basis he isn't really running directly against the big boys. for tbs it is more a case of a 'is it cost effective' to put on conan's show or just run episodes of 'mad about you' or 'friends' in its place.
so the economics are different than say at nbc or cbs.

TBS is paying Conan 10 million a year. George Lopez gets 3 million, which is cable network pay. Obrien is getting big three network pay on a cable show. They're going to have to up their ad rates by multiples to come out even. And what's with this fixation with Obrien with "basic cable", like he's slumming now, kind of a sneering elitist, snobby swipe at the "unwashed" who don't have HBO. He loads his monologue with references to it and has his band called the Basic Cable Band. It doesnt even make sense because he comes from a show that was on free tv- at least you have to pay somethign to get basic cable. The ultimate slum is free tv. HIS SECOND BIG MISTAKE, in my opinion. The first was to get back on the pity pot about NBC firing him, and :doing him wrong:. It was time for a clean break, as if it hadn't even happened. People have a limited compassion memory for a guy making over 10 million a year ( he gets his TBS salary plus millions from NBC still). I don;t see why you guys think his show is some sort of guaranteed smash with the young ones. He was bombing at the Tonihgt Show, bigtime- i see nothing here that shows he will reverse the trend. The video clip in his monologue of the pickup truck going into the lake (It was intermixed with footage of Hannity riding in the real pickup truck with Bush) was pure SNL type crapola circa 1989. Old shtick. Tired stuff. We will see.

It's always encouraging seeing the poster who calls himself Tommy008 get down on someone (ala: Conan O'Brien), cause one can pretty much assure Conan's success by said poster's criticisms. And I like Conan.

KUSA sounds better than anything in Seattle. Dennis Miller has good guests and gets cerebral a lot and is hilarious when other comedians like Norm McDonald and Dana Carvey are on, just to name a few.
I noticed that Savage likes to berate Glenn Beck - have heard him on KBOI- Boise; it seems like there may be some jealousy because Beck now has more listeners than Savage according to Talkers magazine and Beck's book is threatening to outsell Savage's Book "Trickle Up Poverty". Both Savage and Beck have been exposing George Soros for the puppetmaster that he is.

RUSTY HUMPHRIES CAN BE GOOD at times, but i prefer john Gibson on KTTH. I guess Gibson doesnt start UNTIL 7, so i have an hour to either choose Humphries or r and d. Rusty is form the Seattle area and went to the same high school i went to , but hes years younger than me.

Is Dori Monson the "Emmanuel Goldstein" of Blatherwatch?......."Goldstein is always the subject of the 'two minutes hate', a daily 2-minute program beginning at 11 a.m. in which a purported image of Goldstein is shown on the telescreen"- wikipedia blurb on Emmanuel Goldstein, a character from the book 1984, by George Orwell....
