Chucks

I had to go elsewhere to see it, but it was worth it. Very funny. Rush showed why he is such a great guy. He let the liberal morons have their fart jokes as well as the undeserved fat jokes, etc and just laughed them off.

Puget Sound

spot on chucks.
can anyone imagine oh say a pontificator like keith olberman being able to laugh at himself in a similar fashion?
that ex gal pal of his has put out a lot of personal stuff on him that could similarly be put to humor in a 'jugular vein.'

Puget Sound

this will make the usual suspects day given past interest in rush's health issues.
'i just want to know that it (flatulence) is true'
asks a curious sparkles.
well, it is and now you can do with that info what you will. here's hoping you get a chance to sit next to him.
coils, no doubt wanting to delve deeper in the issue of anal health deep dives further to a place only a coiler can go.

Puget Sound

Joanie, the article i read yesterday said he is a victim of his own success..that there are so many copycats out there that the audience became scattered among them. He may have started the trend, but he is no longer on top, plus his personal problems have lost him some listeners as well...

I just want to know if the flatulence stories are true...

Indeed, pilodinal cysts and all

Posted by: coiler | November 30, 2006 at 03:20 PM

I agree, Sparky. I posted on the other thread that I believe the copy-cat syndrome eats away at audiences. And other things creep into the mix as well.

TOO FUNNY. How's that Rush Limbaugh audience doing now? Isn't he still holding strong at 20 million? I don't listen to him but he still has a gazillion stations.
Well, how'd that Air America/MSNBC thingie work out?
As you'll see in November, the center has turned against progressives after getting a taste.

Puget Sound

If you take the link on this site to a conservative who 'speaks authoritatively on radio matters' aka the Radio Equalizer you can read the interview Rush gave on this show. (An excerpt)

"With that in mind, your Radio Equalizer asked Limbaugh for insight into his decision to appear on a notorious lefty program:

RADIO EQUALIZER: Rush, I'm getting emails asking why you're appearing "on that disgusting program."

My answer to one: He's reaching out to millions of young people who've only heard horrible things about him. He needs to lure them to the talk radio medium or we will eventually be winding it all down for good. These kids live in a world where that kind of content is all around them. The only way to reach out is to enter their environment long enough to invite them to our side.

RUSH LIMBAUGH: Exactly right. (It's the) same reason I did the Playboy interview in 1993. Same reason I took the Rush to Excellence Tour to a Vegas hotel. It's called crossover.

And this episode is not disgusting. It's hilarious. It's a CARTOON.

RADIO EQUALIZER: Did you get a lot of flak at the time for the Playboy interview? Similar to this? A question I've received: "why's he helping lefty Hollywood types who hate us?"

RUSH LIMBAUGH: Yes, I did. And on other occasions I can't recall. This is my third Family Guy but first as the star. Seth MacFarlane doesn't hate me. Or Andrew Breitbart, who he met on Maher's show and really liked.

Besides, it was a new career challenge, a new experience. It was a LOT of work. I sing, and I'm deaf! Getting the melody down was next to impossible. It was challenging on many levels. And it is an unpredictable thing to do. It will stymie critics. I'm a performer. This was fun. Seth wants to do even more.

Seth was among the FIRST to reach out to me in Hawaii when I had that heart scare. I am not helping the Hollywood Left. His show is going to be on the air regardless what I do.

BUT, the better way to look at this is that they bent for me. I did not bend to them. It's not as though I endorse or support libs on this show. The other way around. A huge lib character becomes a conservative.

RADIO EQUALIZER: Thanks, Rush, we'll be watching."

hmmmm, a crossover. someone should mention that to the olby's of this world...it might get them an audience of more than a 3 dozen.

joanie

Well, it didn't take long for sputs to make this thread all about him.

Limbaugh's Audience Size? It's Largely Up in the Air

I don't think anyone disputes his lead in talk radio land. He is just the messenger. It's his message most informed people find rotten.

A great entertainer? Possibly. A P.T. Barnum? Definitely. Cares more about money than his country? Big time.

Don't all conservatives?

Tommy008

hold it right there, pal. Limbaugh doesnt care about his country? oh like YOU DO? still waiting for you to denounce the "impostor" using your name who posted here that we all "deserved" 911 ......sounds of crickets chirping........

Chucks

Most informed people appreciate Limbaugh's message, day in and day out.
It is the liberal morons of the world (such as joanie) that don't get it.
I hope that Rush chooses to continue for years to come delivering the message of hope that big government gets out of the way of the productive American citizens so that we may get back on track to grow, produce and prosper.
Contrary to the efforts of people like Obama, there is no need for the USA to become a third world nation. We can prosper and raise the whole world with us.

Earl Shankmeister

Rush 'cares about his country' unless it is personally inconvenient.

For example, when he needed a deferment to avoid Vietnam, a war he now says was lost because of liberal opposition.

Just like Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck have no time or interest in serving in the wars they promote daily.

If the right-wingers really wanted to pick a hero, they'd choose a guy like Pat Tillman, who gave up millions to fight in a war he believed in. Of course, since we killed him they no longer find him hero material.

tommy008, it's like day 12 on the ph(J)oanie-watch and her inability to say that america did not 'deserve' the 911 attack.

what a maroon...aka usual suspects

Puget Sound

ph(J)oanie can scamper all she wants but ultimately her non-answer is in fact an answer.
spot on tommy008, you've no doubt added some blisters to her by keeping her feet to the fire.

but she isn't the only one. andrew says we 'provoked' 911 attack. he won't or can't say why he feels america 'provoked' the attack.

joanie

Our CIA has caused more mayhem and provoked more wars and terrorist activities than either of you can count. But, then, you have to be able to connect the dots aka: think to know that.

Or be slightly informed. Which brings us back to Rush.

joanie

BTW, chuckles, whether 10 million, 20 million or 30 million people, by any count, if that's "most of the informed people," we got a problem. Thank goodness most of the rest us know better. You're such a BSer. No wonder you could sell RVs.

Easier to sell RVs than think, isn't it?

you sound a lot like those 9-11 truther types. what next? bush behind the plot to run those jets into the WTC?

KS

Correctomoondo - Joanie's cred has been shredded with her truther confession. People like her are why the Dems will lose big in November - multiculturalism, extremism and lack of common sense. T008 is spot on.

As for the GOP, there is a kernel of truth about them fighting these wars that the neo-con RINO wing have promoted. My advice to them is to work on cutting the Defense budget over the next few years and walk their talk better about too much spending. Mr. Boehner, are you listening ? I think that the young guns (Cantor, Ryan and McCarthy, et.al.) understand this.

Puget Sound

i would also like Chris Christie as the new Secretary of Education.

joanie

made a nice living selling people

And money is what it's all about. that's what we keep saying. Which brings us back to Rush.

What a fool you are. You'd fall into a trap three feet high (assuming here you're a short man cuz you sound like one), six feet deep and ten yards across labeled "Trap - watch your step."

KS

i would also like Chris Christie as the new Secretary of Education.

Posted by: Puget Sound | October 03, 2010 at 02:50 PM

I'd second that, which might be almost as good as abolishing the Department of Education.

Bring education back to control by the States, which is where it was when we were still near the top in math and science. Since the mid 1970's, the USA has plummeted to the middle/bottom of developed countries in math and science.

Puget Sound

math and science.
might as well be greek to ph(J)oanie.

raccoonradio

Kudos to Rush for doing the show and to Seth for having him on. You do need to laugh at yourself. Episode was funny; many gags from the Left as you'd expect but Brian admits he suddenly is a fan of "personal responsibility and individual freedom". And all hail
Reagan our Lord!

Family Guy's universe has dogs who can talk and drive Priuses (Brian's had a Kucinich bumper sticker on it) but Seth also reminds us that he IS a dog. "I'm going to meet Limbaugh but first I'm going to stare at the bag on that table because I think there may be food in it." Did Brian actually read Limbaugh's book or listen to his show? "No, but people told me he was bad."

Reminder to libs watching: the show is on FOX. Rupert Murdoch. You're making him (and Seth) rich when you watch FG, Simpsons, Glee,
A-Idol, NFL etc. Hoo hah! :)

Olby: I may disagree with his opinions but I don't hate the guy
(well, then again I'm a Red Sox fan and he's a Yankees fan so... :) ) I did actually chuckle when he moderated a debate and told the candidates, "if you break this rule once, we turn the A.C. off. Twice, we turn the heat on." OK, a chuckle.

Hoang Duk

Operation “jizz splash” has been compromised. An American missionary (Christine O’Donnell) reviled our plan to take over the USA. All secret agents are ordered to take their hands out of their pockets.

For all of you that don’t subscribe to the teabagger mail blast, here is the latest rallying cry.

Re: They Don't Like Black People -- October Edition

Having worked for hard like Democrat Party types, both black and white, I can tell everyone that the whites don't really like the Blacks and the blacks are not particularly fond of either the whites or other blacks. They just need each other to get and keep government jobs which they would not be able to occupy otherwise.

One of my bosses was a Chinese immigrant who foisted off a black employee on me who was completely incapable of doing the job for which she was being paid. That meant I had to do it on top of my work and a great deal of his. His political ambitions required a black face in his office. Only I really knew the truth.

Only they know what the truth.

Huh?

BlackRhino

Fired former illegal Messican hater Lou Dobbs has been caught with his pants around his ankles. The Lord of hate has been hiring, guess who? Yup, the illegal browns. It’s becoming too easy to read these whining turds.
