Steven Colbert calls her "Ichabod Crane's banshee widow," and he likes her.
We're telling you: three hours a day of Laura Ingraham's scolding is more than enough -- an overdose in any market -- not to mention on a single station, every weekday. (Her toil and trouble bleeds over annoyingly into other stops at the bottom of the ayem dial).
But Fisher (KVI, KOMO, Star 101) suits in their finite wisdom have, have apparently decided to REPEAT Laura Ingraham in afternoon drive after playing her live in the 9 ta noon.
It's the sign they're giving up on the once-proud, seminal conservative talker. Or, that they simply didn't have their shit together when they made all the changes last week.
Either way it's lame, and demonstrates to us that KVI (and radio in general) is very, very low in Fisher priorities. Seems they're programming defensively: keeping only talent with contracts the company can't get out of. When these expensive agreements (Carlson, Schram, Suits) expire, will live and local radio be dead?
The old talk radio order is trembling in pre-shocks. The old "white man raging" isn't penciling. As KIRO is scrambling to youthinize and feminize its product, Fisher is moving the deck chairs.
There's one rat left on the ship, that's Bryan Suits, (KVI m-f, 5-9a) wonder if he's ready to swim?
You nailed this one, Blather. This is cheap, cheap, cheap and boring, boring, boring.

I predict Bonneville will buy KVI and turn it into a Spanish station, an area they've wanted to get into for a long time.
I hear Bryan Suits is in negotiations for a buy-out. He's being hard-ass, as you would expect.

Why doesn't Suits simply learn Spanish? Right Tommy ?
I like your prediction CorpBook.

WTF ? Why not Dennis Miller from 9-Noon ? KVI can rightly be accused of acting stupidly, if this pans out for a long term.

I thought the same thing with the schedule changing...
Get Dennis Miller back in the day someplace.

I think Dennis speaks Spanish too.

What the hell is Mr. Manda Factor doing these days? And where is the Deacon Dennis Kelly when you need him?

A daily repeat of Laura is more than anyone should have to endure. It reminds me of NPR and their redundant repeating of programming all morning long. Looks like the hypocritical left has struck another blow to freedom of speech. Guess there's just one thing to say - Good-bye fisher.
