Willy Cunningham (KVI Sundays 7-10p) is one of the most truculent, vile, right-wing talk hosts in America.
One of Sean Hannity's remoras, ("You're a great American Sean!") the Michael Savage wannabe is a local host in Cincinnati who went national in 2007 taking Matt Drudge's place on Sunday nights.
Two-legged, small-peckered, tiny-minded and an attorney, Willy has propelled himself wherever he's propelled himself by making offensive, often race-based remarks that get his name in the media. (And often his butt in a sling).
(photo: Cunningham has long battled the rumors he's a lesbian)
His smash-mouth remarks during the 2008 campaign were repudiated in horror by McCain. My, what a difference an election of a Democratic president and a couple of years make! Now, this guy has apparently been invited into the inner chambers of the powers-to be.
Here's who Willy-Bill really is (via Media Matters):
~~Cunningham says Islam's goal is to have "sex with children for eternity." Audio here.
~~ Cunningham alleged that “Obama wants to gas the Jews.” [10/31/08]
~~ Cunningham invoked “666” and “the beast” in discussing “Barack Hussein Obama” [10/14/08]
~~ Cunningham highlights fake Kenyan birth certificate, says “maybe it is accurate,” but later adds “move on.” [08/03/08]
~~ Cunningham on Obama Sr.: “That’s what black fathers do. They simply leave.” [10/30/08]
~~ Cunningham on the poor: “They’re poor because they lack values, ethics, and morals.” [01/05/09]
~~ Bill Cunningham advocates “beat[ing] the hell outta” homeless people with “a big old cane, Singapore-style.” [07/14/09]
~~ "Traditionally, we think of women as Democratic voters because a lot of women who are single are vulnerable; they need like a daddy government to keep an eye on them." [10/29/08]
~~ "[a]mong the so-called noble poor in America ... birth control is not used so illegitimate children can be brought into the world, so the mom can get more checks in the mail from the government." [10/27/08]
Willy Cunningham recently got a television contract with the Tribune Co. for a reality/interview show. We saw a pilot, and we're not sure it'll make it for more than a season, and we'll say this: say the Cincinnati Kid ain't no Hannity.
He and his right-wing media cohort are the folks to whom bland (or least least, light orange) suits like Boehner of the "talk show party" will be obliged for their 2010 victories.
Boehner hasn't verified it yet, but if Cunningham's telling the truth and his wish comes true in November -- we need to repeat -- (and may we shout?) BILL CUNNINGHAM WILL BE BROADCASTING FROM THE OFFICE OF THE SPEAKER-ELECT OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES!!
If Repubs win the House back I welcome this little turtle man to become the public liason for John Boner's antics. The quicker America hits bottom the sooner the country be able to rise back up, and this ugly little creep will help expedite the process.

"These are the folks to whom Republican suits like Boehner will owe 2010 victories."
What an outrageous statement.
The country is coming apart at the seams and Hood suggests that the coming political tsunami is the result of right wing talk show hosts?
Please forgive me to suggest the notion that true Americans will throw the bums out. It's the values and beliefs in small government and individualism that will prevail.

"The country is coming apart at the seams and Hood suggests that the coming political tsunami is the result of right wing talk show hosts?"
Didn't GlennBeck just hold a big rally in DC? Isn't he a right wing talk show host? Didn't he basically start this whole teabagger shit (with a little help from rightwing big money)? I guess that was all a figment of our collective imaginations. We think it's partisan media charlatans but it's actually "mom and pop redneck" who started this whole thing. The Koch brothers just jumped on the populist bandwagon way after. I see.

I would think that the disastrous economic climate, our impotent international relations and the corrupt out of control spending has a lot more to do with the impending tsunami than a handful of talk show hosts.

You would think that, wouldn't you?

I employ over 300 people and due to remarkably difficult conditions I have been forced to layoff 10% of my work force.
Please convince those individuals that their vote in November is due to rant of a talk radio host and not based on their own personal situation brought on by the economy.

Come to think of it, he/she does remind me a little bit of "Pat" from SNL.

OBIAM is absolutely correct, up until January 19th 2009 everything was wonderful.
Not a cloud in the sky.

He employs over 300 people? Maybe it's Weissbach and his illegal aliens.

Everything was fine until Peelosi and Dipshit Harry took over the reins of congress. Far from perfect, but just fine.
Of course, don't forget when Chuck Schumer started the runs on banks with his comments about the California bank.
Anyway, it is nice to see that an honest man is going to be greeting in the new congress from Boehner's office.
(and tigsnort, fix whatever you did to italicise all of our posts, lol)

He looks like "Pat's" dad from SNL. Will he broadcast live from Boner's tanning bed?

One can only conclude from a majority of the comments is that it shows that a majority of the local mental institutions have been shut down.

I will personally cut off the balls of any WA politico that gives this asshat anything less than a full defeat in a screamfest with said politico. This guy is just batshit crazy. Anybody who bashes single women as he does ought to be turned into a damn lesbian!
