I doubt James O Keefe will sign up for a non-paying gig, to lie.

KS

These folks are just out to shine a light on the Journolist castle of darkness that shields the full truth from escaping and hurting the sensibilities of John Q Public. How rude !

joanie

This is intriguing. It could become a spy program: spy on your neighbor for a good story. Or, it could monitor public employees...which I wouldn't mind actually. I'd like to know why garbage collectors make more than I do! Sort of average citizen's Sixty Minutes.

Simplistic, I know. But this could become very interesting... and everybody loves reality shows.

Puget Sound

"SAN FRANCISCO – A federal judge overturned California's gay-marriage ban Wednesday in a landmark case that could eventually force the U.S. Supreme Court to confront the question of whether same-sex couples have a constitutional right to wed."

Good news for those that believe in equality. Now if only Pres Obama would get off his duff on Don't Ask Don't Tell and renounce his Def Of Marriage Act Vote.

You would think Pres Obama would be a little more open to this issue.

tigsnort

I have to laugh any time teabggers try to start an "army" of some sort. They're too fat and old to do anything except stand around and yell talking points at people.

Coiler

Indeed, the teabaggers are a slogan and poster oriented movement being propped up by a 2 year governor and the son of a congressman who believes in the Illuminati.

Puget Sound

and coiler's party is getting ready for a reaming of epic proportions...

take big ed's advice, stay home coils.

prediction: the usual suspects will claim fraud in the voting...sore losers.

Puget Sound

hey Coils, some Friends of Abe Actors for you to hate on...
Coils...

KS

Tigsnort and Coils know all about teabagging - but I won't delve into their private lives.

Cool only goes so far when you are president. Chavez and Aqua-velva-jhad think they are cool also, but the people in their countries are angered greatly by their policies. Obama is a lot like these despots with his quasi-statist policies. He is rubbing both sides wrong, but that is his choice. Even the liberal progressives are not happy - they who have shredded the constitution and will continue to do so if unchecked. Time will tell.

Puget Sound

Don't mind E-Coli.
He's facing a bleak November and he isn't handling it well.
The 2008-2010 Congress will be forever known as the 'Woulda-Coulda-Shoulda' Congress...

Coiler

It's all about me or andrew or joanie or sparky of tig, which means you guys are outgunned. It sucks to be you.

KS

We venture into the adversaries den. We may be outgunned, but you still can't match our intellectual firepower - so it really sucks to be all of you.

The Democraps have made a strong case for deserving to lose - they have been anarchistic pricks and deserve to have their nuts/other erogenous zones crushed; Rangel, Waters, Grayson and probably Reid along with others like Dodd, Dorgan and Bayh who quit. What happened to the Repubs in 2006 (thanks to Bush and the Neo-cons, Ney, Cunningham and Foley) is setting up to happen to your side in a greater magnitude in November. The Independents who switched from D in 2008 to R in 2010 will be noticed.

ks,
e-coli, like the rest of the usual suspects, doesn't fare too well outside the shallow end of the pool. he would never take the Duffman challenge.

somewhere Duff is having a nice laugh.

sparky

I took the so-called Duffman challenge, and the people at SP thought it was a rather childish idea of his/yours. They, too, did not understand what purpose it served. I apologized for Duffman and left. Why would anyone else want to waste time doing that??

Aside from ad hominems, what else do you have?

As always with Sparkles, we have to provide the clarity that comes ala Paul Harvey '...the rest of the story.'
frankly, i am surprised you would want to bring that up. yes, you went on to SP taking a shot at duffman -where he is a beloved figure- and proceeded to make an ass of yourself with the straw dog arguments backed up with some irrelevant commentary on some spelling miscues. when the moderator -i believe it was Earling- asked you to speak on substance you failed to deliver.

so yes, you took the duffman challenge. but you failed.

i would advise that you stay here in the shallow -yellowish- waters.
it suits you to a T.

Why in the world did you do that ? I can see why they at SP thought that idea was silly. Their world is different from the world over here. Topics seldom seen over there that are commonplace here; Fixed News, Dori Monson, KIRO-FM, Rachel Maddow and Breitbart.

Duffman is on SP these days and is not that ideological like many of the others tend to be, which is to his favor. There are some virulent trolls over there like Mike BoyScout and demo kid, tensor or scottd who are more persistent leftists. Mercifurious shows up once in a while to spew his bilge. There are more stimulating political topics over there and also more confrontation. Over here - its a potpourri that is more receptive to goodies from the Guvmint and blissful ignorance.

Puget Sound

ks
we got tired of hearing the usual suspects cry about how they don't understand how someone could have a different world view. duff made the mistake of thinking they were acting in good faith.
so the duffman challenge was an attempt to move the usual suspects outside of the closed feedback loop of msnbc/daily kos/here/ and give 'em a chance to explain their world view to a broader audience.

joanie

Why do you stay here, sputs? Nobody talks to you. Except KS. I don't see your name at SP? Did they throw you out? For boring posts? Bullying? Not being able to stay on topic? What's the deal?

It is a political blog and this one is about radio and politics sometimes. I can hardly remember a single post about radio from you. Again, what's the deal?

I notice duffman refrains from the yapping over there as well. Unlike Michael who uses a long, long leash on us, SP must control their posts pretty tightly.

sparky

The "sparky" that took a shot at Duffman was not me. When I went on SP, I explained what the "Duffman challenge" was supposed to be. I believe it was a Michele who replied and said that I was welcome, but that Duffman was in no position to offer a "challenge" to anyone because it was not his blog. She asked me why he would do such a thing and I said he felt those of us on BW were too "chicken" to write something. She said "how childish." I agreed, apologized, and left. Waste of time on all our parts.
Again, Putz, without ad hominems, what do you have? Besides cutting and pasting and referencing your massive spread sheet of past comments you can drag out when at a loss for anything else?

sparky

Yes, Duffman is quite deferential over there...no name calling on his part. Short leash, indeed. I have not seen Putz' name over there either.

You take this far too seriously, Putz. You might need a hobby.

Puget Sound

sigh, again sparkles tells half the story.
duff never offered that challenge on behalf of SP. you knew that.
that you would go on the website and announce it as such was disingenuous on your part.
the whole idea of the duffman challenge was to expand your horizons a bit by trying out a blog that was more rigorous.

Puget Sound

...and you failed.

interesting that you both lurk over at SP, perusing the posts, looking for those who comment on that blog.

my, oh my. LMAO

joanie

As usual, you ass-ume. Yawn again.

Puget Sound

You know what joanie?
You and Sparkles have become colossal bores.
Toodles.

KS

FYI - Duffman is over at SP and I am on occasion (as KDS). I am here to say that neither Sparky or Joanie have over there in the last several weeks, unless they have used different names.

Wonder why Duff and for that matter - Nevets have not been back here lately. I know about the Michele who is referenced by Sparkles - she seems like a straight shooter.

The take-away message is that there is a vibrant blogging world outside of Blatherwatch and that world can be your oyster. Then again, there is a real world out there too.

joanie

You ass-ume as well. Where did I say I posted on SP?

But PS keeps urging SP on us like it so special. So I would have expected to see his name over there. Or does he post under another name as well?

Let's be consistent, shall we?

sparky

It was 2-3 years ago at least, and I posted 3-4 comments. Any other "sparky" comments, before or since, were made by someone else.

Puget Sound

i didn't say either of you were posting, rather both of you were admitting to lurking over there and seeing who posts.
otherwise, why would both of you make a point of saying you hadn't seen me posting over there?

Puget Sound

I have not seen Putz' name over there either.

You take this far too seriously, Putz. You might need a hobby.

hmmm. LMAO

joanie

so........???????

I am here to say that neither Sparky or Joanie have over there in the last several weeks, unless they have used different names.

I was talking to KS. Which should have been obvious even to you.

Puget Sound

joe klien, one of those 'journo-list' types that joanie pines for:

here he is exposed, from a wonderful article 'dismantling joe klein.'

"Correcting the errors in logic and fact by Joe Klein is more than a full-time job, and I usually have better things to do. But once in a while, he writes a piece that deserves to be examined and dismantled. The posting Klein did on Time magazine’s blog Swampland earlier this week, “Obama on Iraq,” qualifies as one of those instances. Let’s have a look.

1. On Monday Klein wrote this:

It is the way of the world that Barack Obama ‘ s announcement today of the end of the combat phase in Iraq … will not be remembered as vividly as George Bush’s juvenile march across the deck of an aircraft carrier, costumed as a combat aviator in a golden sunset, to announce — six years and tens of thousands of lives prematurely — the “end of combat operations.”

Now let’s see what Klein said about Bush’s landing on the USS Abraham Lincoln on CBS’s Face the Nation, on May 4, 2003:

Well, that was probably the coolest presidential image since Bill Pullman played the jet fighter pilot in the movie Independence Day. That was the first thing that came to mind for me. And it just shows you how high a mountain these Democrats are going to have to climb. You compare that image, which everybody across the world saw, with this debate last night where you have nine people on a stage and it doesn’t air until 11:30 at night, up against Saturday Night Live, and you see what a major, major struggle the Democrats are going to have to try and beat a popular incumbent president."

LMAO, which is it Joe?
