BlatherWatch suggests… a couple of new servings of small plates of sound — radio tapas, if we may.
Blowing off, say, an hour a week spent with Rush Limbaugh or Ass Traffic.com to give a listen, might be just the thing to lift you up from your 2nd year/Obama presidency ennui.
Former Seattleite John Moe, has taken over (on May 3) Future Tense, the 5-minute tech-nibble (KUOW (m-f, 6:35a) served-up with the quirk and humor he’s known for.
It's all served up on wry slathered with Moe's homey, down-sloped, Seattle-bred humor.
Moe quit his day job in Seattle in 2001 to work as staff writer and producer at KUOW on Bill Radke’s late, great, comedy magazine, Rewind. Moe also hosted a long-running technology and business program The Works, at KUOW. He’s a comedian and author; and now works for American Public Media in St. Paul where he’s been sliding down the razor blade of the media downturn.
We don’t get up at 6:35a either, so catch podcasts here.
“Let’s create new talk shows and blogs in which liberals and conservatives interrogate one another’s views...it would be a useful antidote to the current cable and blog ghettos, where you can go years without hearing the other side make its case.” Washington is Broken, Time Magazine cover, March 1, 2010
Is talk radio destined to remain the fortress of old, male, pissed-off conservatives?Probably, but political/media gadfly (and former Air America owner) Mark Green has long put his money where his mouth is many times to change that. He created (and hosts) Both Sides Now, a new syndicated weekend show for commercial radio with progressive publisher Arianna Huffington and longtime conservative operative, strategist, and editor Mary Matalin. It launches Saturday, June 26th.

The show has run as a pilot-to-air weekly over the past month, including a two-hour special live program at WABC radio studios June 20th, with Matalin and Green interviewing, respectively, Liz Cheney and Ralph Nader. An audio-blog version of “Both Sides Now” will be featured every Monday on The Huffington Post, starting June 28.
Michael, your apparent sexual frustration evidences itself at least a couple of times a week in this "blog."

Both Sides Now, not downloadable? Can't seem to save it, but can't listen at work. Ah well.

Can someone explain the appeal of Mary Matelin?
Posted by: sparky | June 24, 2010 at 09:12 AM
Much more appeal'able than the apparent dirty old man Al Gore.

Bless your heart.

...and WHAT's appeal'able 'bout Arrianna, pray tell.

I enjoy Mary Matalin when she is debating that Q-ball husband of hers, but that is about it.
You know that Mark Green did not want the best to argue the correct side but Matalin will do just fine anyway.

"Sexual frustration" on this "blog" is what "everyone" comes up here "for." It is always "delightful" to see life "through Michael's eyes." It maybe "too sexy" for some, but they should take "the big stiff thing" from out of their "backside" and enjoy life.

Instead of evaluating the physical appeal of the talent involved or their husbands, why don't we judge them on and discuss the strengths and civilities of their arguments and discussion? Or is that just over in America?

Sometimes T likes to play games...and thinks he's fooling folks. What a dolt.

hey moi (michael in reality),
kids read this blog. now talk about talk radio or take this place down. by the way, the number of replies to your topics and the number of repliers is way down. losing people? wonder why? bye bye, loser.

Hey Me: the only kid who'd read Blatherwatch would be you. In the immortal words of the late Creighton Burnette, "Fuck you, you fucking fuck!"

No idea who this Moe guy is, though I guess that's true for most radio schlebs, but the idea of a radio show reporting on technology has always amused me. It's like pounding out laptop reviews on a typewriter.

Hey b.m.
you created this little world of yours because you don't have the right stuff to match either the career of your father or daughter. so, you made your place, where until now, you have gone unchallenged.
seems to me that you have a mission of hate against anyone in the media who has made it with the talent that you don't acknowledge or the breaks that you never got.
jerk.
