Reaffirming the stereotypes we have about the aging conservative
listenership of talk radio, we were amused at a letter Dave Ross's
producer, the notoriously floozical Libby Shenkman, got this morning about the soft
porn of the photo above:
Libby - How wonderful for you (sincerely). You being the Producer/Chief of Staff of the popular Dave Ross Show which I listen to daily. It is unfortunate however that you do not dress like the professional you are. I look at the photo posted today and see you wearing a skin tight shirt with your bra strap hanging out - standing next to one of the most respected professional persons in this region and think to myself what a mismatch. Your attire in this photo seems more like that of a high school or college girl on campus. I realize that working in radio is more casual and do not expect you to look like a TV News talking head but please consider that your attire is considered by the audience when posting photos on your blog. Thank you.
Cynthia XXXXXX- Listener to the Dave Ross Show for ten years
If you can't figure out what this is about, look carefully at the left shoulder of that little vixen in the picture above: see that stripe of nude-colored material peeking out from under that skin tight top? (mmmm... nude!) See Dave Ross, so obviously aroused, is leering at the little hussy who is so obviously enjoying every minute of it. (mmmm... aroused!)
Besides the (sincerely) bitchy subtext screaming: you're the slut who's got the job I could only dream of!, this shows the proprietorship listeners think they have over media people... even of their dress and even if they're off-air staff on a non-visual medium!
(Here's a talk radio topic: Does anyone under 50 pin their bra straps so they won't show? Does anyone over 50 pin their bra straps so they won't show? Are bra straps provocative? Do women who show them signal sexual availability or enthusiasm? Is it unprofessional? Was Dave Ross complicit? Does Dave encourage such offensive sexual exhibitionism with the tarts he hires? Where was Cynthia back in the days of nude radio? If Cynthia's bra strap ever showed would anyone notice, or care?)
Libby, though clearly a slut ,is also a sane young woman and writes the progression of her reaction to the letter on the Dave Ross blog:
I started to
formulate a big, emotional response in which I would
defend my professionalism, hard work, and respect for Dave and his show.
Then I remembered that I have a life.
So instead I will leave you with this picture of my attire, which I
think is entirely appropriate for a casual workplace (a.k.a. newsroom).
Note my miffed expression at having wasted any time worrying about
faceless internet slander.
And posts the full frontal pic above. (mmmm... producer full frontal)
She is one of those behind the scenes people who I wonder about when these cuts come. I guess its musical chairs in the radio world.

I am glad that Libby took it in stride and considered the source.
Bla'm nailed it correctly with the "Besides the (sincerely) bitchy subtext screaming: you're the slut who's got the job I could only dream of!..."
I'm guessing it may be the same one -and you know who you are- who use to complain about Tina when she was the Producer of the Dave Ross show.
(Bra straps, really?--jeeez, get a frickin life!!)

That reminds me of the latest sequel movie of "Sex and the City" - the word from several movie critics is save your money- it's a dog - - I have periodically peeked at some of the reruns on TV. I hear that one of the highlights/lowlights is when the chicks take a trip to Abu Dhabi and of course, check out the dudes there.

I love her response.

Having been involved in the radio business many years ago (when there were some morals floating around), I can tell you it is a very sleazy business. Sleazy businesses attract sleazy people. I won't bore you with the details of my experiences.

Since SPD vice has shut down virtually every strip club and brothel, leaving them with nothing to do, maybe they could raid KIRO FM.
