ah, i see you are following your credo: opinion trumps information.

little wonder that when facts come to play, the usual suspects fade away.

(oh they do return, just under the phony handles)

joanie

I love it. He just admitted I'm only a "wanna-be bully"compared them. Well, I agree. Nobody can bully like you guys. Guess I'll always be a wanna-be.

I'm a persistent wanna-be and I'll persist every time you bullies get on your crowded bus and start bullying. You're a bunch of uninformed ignoramuses and deserve to be called out.

KS

Does anyone have a clue what KS is trying to say here? He must be a socialist because this sounds like socialism to me.

Posted by: joanie | May 01, 2010 at 06:47 PM

ROFLMAO. You pick up the shifty with the truth thing pretty well. Ironic that an statist extremist like yourself would spew that. You are also good at faking ignorance, even when you are pathetically clueless.. That sounds wierd but that shoe fits Ph(J)oanie to a T.

joanie

Gee, I asked you for some wisdom and I got what I expected. Hmm. Pondering Sound and Junque Man. That's what we should call you.

Talk about the shoe fitting: yours seems to have a hole in it.

Well, you are good for a laugh.

KS

You wouldn't know wisdom if you looked it in the face. Come to think of it, you might have some potential as a comedy act - the "Keystone Cops" Teachers .

joanie

You're repeating yourself, klueless. I think I've frustrated you enough for tonight.

Happy ignorant dreams, klueless.

Why is Saul Alinksky a dirty word in some circles today? What do you people actually know about him? The man was a pioneer, and he was a broadly respected public intellectual, activist and author in his day. If persons have a kneejerk fear of seeing those with the least among us empowered a bit, then isn't that more a relfection of our ugly feudal past or inner prejudices?

BTW, we all use at least some of his tactics at least some of the time, at least those who are effective at the grassroots level.

Rules for Radicals:

Rule 1: Power is not only what you have, but what an opponent thinks you have. If your organization is small, hide your numbers in the dark and raise a din that will make everyone think you have many more people than you do.

Rule 2: Never go outside the experience of your people.
The result is confusion, fear, and retreat.

Rule 3: Whenever possible, go outside the experience of an opponent. Here you want to cause confusion, fear, and retreat.

Rule 4: Make opponents live up to their own book of rules. “You can kill them with this, for they can no more obey their own rules than the Christian church can live up to Christianity.”

Rule 5: Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It’s hard to counterattack ridicule, and it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage.

Rule 6: A good tactic is one your people enjoy. “If your people aren’t having a ball doing it, there is something very wrong with the tactic.”

Rule 7: A tactic that drags on for too long becomes a drag. Commitment may become ritualistic as people turn to other issues.

Rule 8: Keep the pressure on. Use different tactics and actions and use all events of the period for your purpose. “The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition. It is this that will cause the opposition to react to your advantage.”

Rule 9: The threat is more terrifying than the thing itself. When Alinsky leaked word that large numbers of poor people were going to tie up the washrooms of O’Hare Airport, Chicago city authorities quickly agreed to act on a longstanding commitment to a ghetto organization. They imagined the mayhem as thousands of passengers poured off airplanes to discover every washroom occupied. Then they imagined the international embarrassment and the damage to the city’s reputation.

Rule 10: The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative. Avoid being trapped by an opponent or an interviewer who says, “Okay, what would you do?”

Rule 11: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, polarize it. Don’t try to attack abstract corporations or bureaucracies. Identify a responsible individual. Ignore attempts to shift or spread the blame.

Breaking News:

Tomorrow Arizona Governor Jan Brewer is slated to sign another in a string of laws to get the state’s large immigrant population under control. The law states that "no restaurant shall serve food that promotes the superiority of one group of people over another. Instead all foods must be seen for their individual values."

When interviewed about the law, Brewer stated that "it’s about time that we get rid of these restaurants that have been encouraging illegal immigration. Particularly concerning to me are Taco Bell and Taco John’s, but even Chili’s is suspect in the promotion of this horrid crime."

Taco Bell CEO Greg Creed issued a statement defending the serving of delicious, Mexican-inspired foods. He declared that "it is an outrage that we will no longer be able to sell our yummy cuisine in Arizona just because our company has the word ‘taco’ in the name." Offhandedly Creed commented that his food "isn’t even really Mexican."

When concerns were raised that this might affect Italian, Chinese, or other restaurants often considered "ethnic," legislators were quick to say that they would not be affected because they are, "umm, you know...the okay kind of ethnic."

joanie

Even when you put the ridiculous in front of these people, all you get is silence Bigoted minds never change.

Heard on the radio that they are slated to lose millions in cancelled conventions. We'll see how long all this lasts. Money trumps everything else as we all know.

Sparkles, now that's trolling.
What a maroon...

Beat that chest, Putsie! How many points did you give yourself for that one??

KS

Thanks for displaying Alinsky's rules for radicals - standards for today's hardball politics, but not conducive to being bipartisan.

This is pertinent to this discussion - for enlightenment. Sparkles suffers a bad case of myopia and Joanie is along being shifty with the truth...

What's wrong with this picture ?? (I am not advocating draconian measures as shown above, FYI for the on-line bleeding hearts).

Dori

Sounds like you just named six locations where you would be happier, KS. That's being an optimist. I'm sure each of those locations needs a twisty road designer. And none of them has a big government to hate. Of course, you'd have to find a private employer to pay you...and perhaps become a muslim.

KS

Dori - You are showing narrow-mindedness and making ASS-umptions that you don't have a clue about. I was merely putting this issue into perspective, but its asking too much for you to see both sides of this issue. Too bad that you trust the misinformation from the lamestream media but that's your choice - ignorant as it is.

KS

Ph(j)oanie - The reason I repeat myself is because you have shown to be reading comprehension challenged and have short term memory loss from imbibing too much :)

I know that frustrates you when you are emotionally propagandizing and the facts get in the way.

Three points.
Two for accuracy and one for style.

You get no points for trolling or being shifty with the truth.

Puget Sound

conversely, i give coils twp points for just waking up everyday.
can you imagine how hard it must be to have to head out that front door knowing you are coils.
so coils, you get lots of credit.

Poor joke, as the the womans family came over legally were given Visa's and became U.S. citizens.

matt - seattle

her parents where on WORKS VISAS..

WORK VISAS do expire, and then they have to go back to the phillippines..

UNLESS.. they have a baby in US SOIL.. which is what happened to Michelle Malkin.

I think she has some deep psychological scars from being something she loathes, and she ended up catering to the group whose vast majority do not welcome people like her.

It is a common pattern, just like the Mexican immigrants that apply for a job as a Border Patrol as soon as they are able to do so.. to oppress their kind.

Its very sad.

Jason - No, its a reflection that times are changin' and this style has become more mainstream. Let me suggest that the 13 rules that you outlined is what the Democratic Party currently aspires to. Alinsky was a Marxist and communist sympathizer (which you left out). Since his tactics are clearly being used by the White House and Democrat leadership and screwing the people at the same time - which is a so-called unintended consequence of using "Rules for Radicals" tactics.

Nevertheless, I agree with Andrew Breitbart's comments in that conservatives need to hit back at the left and the lamestream media and use Alinsky tactics just to have a chance to take down big government. In other words, its time for conservatives and even Republicans to fight fire with fire in this political environment. If for nothing else, its a fight for survival of this country...

This issue of Anchor Baby is something we all should really sit back and actually look at who the victims are in this situation. who is talking about the babies who has no say in this whole matter. There is a new movie coming out called Anchor Baby. I saw the trailer on youtube. Check it out guys. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Yx_kiBOZDA
