It's obvious that some groups of people haven't become any less racist over of the past fifty years. They don't see it as a fundamentally inferior way of thinking, they just think it's something they have to hide.
Rachel Maddow made a good point (obviously); if police don't identify a potential illegal immigrants by race, what do they identify them by? It's tacit racial profiling and it's institutional racism. It will result in fully legal Latino-Americans being harassed by cowboy hat wearing cops of the white persuasion, for no other reason than being the wrong race at the wrong time. Most Americans recognize that this is racist, and it's not right.
I've known for some time that conservatism was on the way out. I've mentioned it here numerous times over the years. This dip in Republican popularity that picked up speed in 2006 is not just another cycle, it's a correction of the over-xenophobic reaction that resulted from the 9-11 attacks, and that reactionism has passed. Most Americans really want to see progress, and now they're getting it.
We're seeing what was true conservatism distill into libertarianism, tea baggers and Ron Paul worshippers, very weak and disjointed political movements, even less significant than the green party. Republicans will recover because they're the only real alternative anyone has, but it will be a remarkably more liberal party when everything is said and done. They will embrace the socialism, the medicare, the social security, that so many of them benefit from as we speak.
KS, that's just one of the 'usual suspects' doing the posting.

Oh Sparkles, I hate it when you misstate the facts. Lucky for you I am here to keep you honest.
The term 'Anchor Baby' is something that is applied to illegal immigrants. Her family was here legally. What a maroon...
Jeez, few sane people are against legal immigration. And to get a Doctor and a School Teacher in the bargain is a wonderful thing for this country.
Michelle's parents were already legal residents long before Michelle was born, and what made that easier was the fact that from 1898-1946, the Phillipines was a commonwealth of the United States which means before, during, and after the war, Filipinos were legally American nationals. (And her Grandfather fought under General MacArthur).
Why does the left want so badly to subvert the sovereignty of our nation? Joanie?
Republican chickens coming home to roost and all they can find is oil. Poor things.
Europe has a law that all drilling rigs have automatic shut offs. That's asking too much of American corporations. So, let's all watch these resident republicans (Joanie's nemesis chucks?) head off to his stock broker to make another killing off this disaster. I'm sure oil stock will be rising.
Right, Chucks?
I wonder if Bobby Jindal is going to take Obama's money? Let's all watch and see.

No doubt, I would rather have either Clinton as President.
Let me just say, FTR, that Steph has arguably the best show in syndicated/commercial national radio. And I don't come to that conclusion because of her politics, but rather if the talk medium is entertainment and theater for the mind. It's a personal and kinda anecdotal judgment that I come to based on what shows keep me listeining for the longest duration of time and which shows make me laugh out loud; otherwise, I am gonna listen to NPR/BBC. BTW, Rush and Savage can put on an excellent show, too, in just the broadcast sense, but the bigger they've gotten and the more serious they take themselves, the more obnoxious they become to listen to. Of course, I seldom agree with their politics either.
Anyway, I was listening live to Steph's comment about Michelle Malkin, and I really didn't like it--mostly because in real time, it didn't sound that funny.

ph(J)oanie, you are the definition of a bully. you lash out, make fun of the misfortune of others who lose their job/name-call and when you get some back the first instinct is to whine about it.

In addition, she has failed to answer a simple question I put to hear about her political leanings because she believes the O is not decisive enough. It can be concluded that she realizes if she honestly answered, it would make her look like too much of an extremist. This goes against her agenda of being shifty with the truth, as is her less extreme cohort, Sparkles.
Joanie must be very flattered by receiving all of this kind of attention. She loves to apply ridicule to those who disavow her philosophy, so one good turn deserves another...

You get called out as bullies and take it out on me? I love that. Just shows the level of stupidity of you guys.
And I said it myself: Civil? I'm never civil. To bullies? Let's be serious.
What didn't you understand about that?
Go get brain transplants.
And klueless, my political leanings couldn't be more obvious. Good lord, you need two transplants! The cavity between your ears must be so large and vacuous, your gray matter is bouncing around like ping pong balls in those lottery machines.
Joanie, they should be attacking their own party, if they have one left anymore. I'm not even sure what party disaffected, over 40 white guys belong to. The Cyanide party?
"my political leanings couldn't be more obvious. Good lord, you need two transplants!"
Ph(J)oanie - Without you saying it, I have read between the lines and you are a proud left wing extremist...
Coils - You are a member of the cyanide party - look at yourself in the mirror and read the garbage you mindlessly spew.
I am an independent and these days I vote for the lesser of the evils and I don't vote for R's exclusively.. That typically results in not voting for anyone representing the party of slavery, gun control and big government (the party with the D after their name. That couldn't be more obvious.
I'd rather vote for a libertarian
I look at myself, I'm still young and hopeful. Not full of the country last and 'hope he fails' mentality. Try being opinionated instead of informed. You'll have more business at City Hall soon.
Ph(J)oanie - you think you are smart, but you get a D- in reading comprehension. I said that I typically do not vote for Democrats- if you go back and read. I do not associate with the Republican Party, because they are the Democrat-lite party. They still expand government, which means they are devious in saying what they stand for, no different than Dims.
I would trust a libertarian or conservative who ran as a libertarian or independent more than a Republican today and I would have said the same in 2008.
If I were you, Ph(J)oanie - I'd stick to your day job and stay away from comedy, because your humor is too sick and not funny.
Back at ya, Ph(J)oanie - your posts would be hilarious if we didn't know you were deadly serious and trying to cloak it as the truth. No need for a further explanation.
One thing I'll give you credit for, you know the Saul Alinsky Rules for Radicals playbook - I'll expect you to ask what rules you are using even though you are familiar with it. You try and use it every chance you get - except now others that you have used it on are using it back at you. It is fun isolating and ridiculing you after you attack first. Fun and games.
I'm laughing again. What the hell does that mean? What is "it?" Do you know what it is?
I'll expect you to ask what rules you are using even though you are familiar with it. You try and use it every chance you get - except now others that you have used it on are using it back at you.
Does anyone have a clue what klueless is trying to say here? He must be a socialist because this sounds like socialism to me.
KS, that sure 'splains Coils, Andrew, and Sparkles in a nutshell. Yep, why be INFORMED when you can be OPINIONATED. LMAO
Just blathering away...Coils, going by your postings I can see you live by the Opinion over Information angle. We have an unemployment rate around 10 percent; Greece, Spain and Portugal are imploding over debt; and Iran is about to get its nuclear weaponry. Meanwhile, our President has managed to insult one of our best allies, Israel. And you actually think this will turn out well come November for Democrats...keep drinking deeply from the 'kookaide' as it will all be over soon.

You had to "read between the lines" to figure out I'm a true and proud progressive? Really? Really?
You are so smart, klueless. Really.
I'm laughing so hard I can hardly type: I am an independent...but I don't vote for democrats. You should try comedy, klueless.
Posted by: joanie | May 01, 2010 at 11:07 AM

Keep 'splainin' klueless.
I can't stay away from comedy, klueless. What would I do without my daily laughs from your posts?
Posted by: joanie | May 01, 2010 at 03:56 PM
Back at ya, Ph(J)oanie - your posts would be hilarious if we didn't know you were deadly serious and trying to cloak it as the truth. No need for a further explanation.
One thing I'll give you credit for, you know the Saul Alinsky Rules for Radicals playbook - I'll expect you to ask what rules you are using even though you are familiar with it. You try and use it every chance you get - except now others that you have used it on are using it back at you. It is fun isolating and ridiculing you after you attack first. Fun and games.

trying to cloak it as the truth.
I'm laughing again. What the hell does that mean? What is "it?" Do you know what it is?

Does anyone have a clue what klueless is trying to say here? He must be a socialist because this sounds like socialism to me.

Buckley praised Alinsky. Are the neo conservatives today against Buckley?

KS, that sure 'splains Coils, Andrew, and Sparkles in a nutshell. Yep, why be INFORMED when you can be OPINIONATED. LMAO
Just blathering away...Coils, going by your postings I can see you live by the Opinion over Information angle. We have an unemployment rate around 10 percent; Greece, Spain and Portugal are imploding over debt; and Iran is about to get its nuclear weaponry. Meanwhile, our President has managed to insult one of our best allies, Israel. And you actually think this will turn out well come November for Democrats...keep drinking deeply from the 'kookaide' as it will all be over soon.

which Buckley, there are a passel of 'em out there. and lets see the quote. and don't be doing the trolling bait and switch as practiced by sparkles. you know the, when i said it was 'true' i meant it was 'false' game. reminds one of the voters who loved the man that kept telling us, '...it depends upon what the meaning of is, is.'

You're the expert on pondering your navel. Keep pondering.

i'll leave it to you, the whining wanna-be bully...
it goes without saying, chucks is right.
