Our loyal right-wing commenters won't answer this substantively because they can't. And also because the right's doing quite well - thank you very much - by lying through their teeth.
Brace yourself for a fusillade of cracks about Rachel's haircut and sexual preferences.
, , and
The best thing about Rachel is that even though she is an incredibly smart person, she still can act goofy. Her research is meticulous!
Posted by: sparky | April 02, 2010 at 09:18 PM
You could totally take Fox News and replace it with MSNBC, change from the moderate slant and replace it with the liberal slant and get the same story about how evil MSNBC is.
MSNBC butchers video to get the lib slant they desire.
I noticed that Maddow did not disclose that the tapes Attorney General Moon Beam viewed were only the full California tapes as that is all he wanted to see.
Anyway, we have had this conversation before. The liberal press has lied by omission and distortion for years, and yes, on occasion, the moderate press has adjusted the news to meet the needs of the correct side.
As for attacking Ray Maddow, I have given it a lot of thought and come to the conclusion that if I were a woman, I'd be a lezbyun to. Women have nice stuff that is fun to play with. I fully understand her view on that issue.
None of this is meant to deflect attention away from what an awful POS network MSNBC is.

"Her research is meticulous!"
She comes up with new wrinkles, but it is incredibly biased research, Sparkles - which lowers her credibility. In addition, Maddow wings it out of the MSLSD playbook, which is the Alinsky playbook. She ridicules the other side as extremist kooks, then Isolates, demonizes and distorts by lieing by omission while sounding nuanced and intelligent at the same time spewing half truths.
I could have more respect for someone like her if she were more objective and goofy once in a while, but she is mostly just another media quisling as she allows herself to be.

I would like to see each of those "news" stories Maddow call "bull" defended specifically, and factually.
It's not possible.
As Michael says, they're steering the media and therefore public opinion with these falsehoods. Even though the ACORN vids were hoked up and basically untrue, they were gold because they were great teevee with great shots of ass.

Unlike Fox News, Rachel corrects herself if she's wrong.
Posted by: Irene Song | April 03, 2010 at 12:47 AM
yes 'Irene,' Rachel also tells us that she isn't trying to push an agenda.
LMAO.
Rachel looks into the camera and proclaims: "I'm not trying to push an agenda."
RACHEL MADDOW: I'm trying to increase the amount of useful information in the world. I think sometimes I get defined as an activist because I say what my opinion is. I'm not trying to push an agenda of any sort. I'm trying to figure out how to make the big, bad world out there make more sense."

"Brace yourself for a fusillade of cracks about Rachel's haircut and sexual preferences."
yes Michael, and your comments towards Michelle Malkin have always confined themselves to the quality of her work and nothing about her appearance. and of course, when posting pictures of conservative talk show hosts you always look for the most flattering one and don't post a distorted pic.
Posted by: Puget Sound | April 03, 2010 at 08:38 AM
Michelle Malkin is a great-looking, straight woman. She has kissed me. Though it cut me deeply, I've never held it against her that she loved me and left. (I doubt that would have been the case if it had been the other way around). Her sexual preferences have always been irrelevant to my criticism of the angry, dangerous drivel she spews.
And I appreciate Putz the recognition of my photo-editing abilities and insistence that everyone is presented here with their best foot forward.

Where are your facts ?
I challenge you to back up your mouthing off about Fox News with real facts instead of the ones you like to manufacture from the talking points of MSLSD. Rachel is part of the propaganda machine and prefers progressivism and big government, which is the main problem with this economy.
Give me one example of a non-negative statement Maddow has made about Paul Ryan or Eric Cantor that she had stated on her show. If you can't, I rest my case, Tigsnort.

"Give me one example of a non-negative statement Maddow has made about Paul Ryan or Eric Cantor that she had stated on her show. If you can't, I rest my case, Tigsnort."
How can you expect any liberal to say anything positive about rigid ideologues/obstructionists on the right? She has a liberal point of view, she admits that. But her milieu is fundamentally fact-based. You can be partisan and factual/honest at the same time. People like Limbaugh, Beck, FOX News (and Cantor for that matter) are not factual for the most part, they lie and misinform a great deal of the time. Maddow doesn't. Her M.O. is to expose lies. Occasionally she'll get something wrong but she always issues a correction (and even an apology - imagine that). Most lies come from the right these days, which is why she focuses more on Republicans than Dems.
Now, what facts did she get wrong in the video above?

Hey Tigsnort, you say 'most lies' come from the right. Obviously, you have noted some lies that come from the left. Care to enlighten us with the lies that come from the left?
3 or 4 will do. please...
Hey Michael, reading a very even handed book right now released in 2010. 'Clinton vs Starr.' I didn't think I would care to go back to that time period but the book is fascinating.
Posted by: Puget Sound | April 03, 2010 at 05:05 PM
whether you realize or not, you just made my point.
I dispute your claim that Fox News is not factual. I will put them up against MSNBC (aka MSLSD) or CNN any time and use an impartial third party (like snopes.com to judge).
When has Maddow exposed lies of the left ? If she hasn't, she is being intellectually dishonest. Everyone gets things wrong. Contrary to your claim, I know that most of the lies come from the left these days, but you one of those sucked in by the state-run media who are complicit in propagating the lies. If you laid out an honest argument, I would be willing to say what i see the mistakes of the right being, but don't see that happening with a leftist ideologue like yourself.
What facts did she get wrong ?
First off, she defends ACORN, which is responsible for election fraud in a number of states, embezzling funds. To Rachel, I say what is good for the goose is good for the gander - she needs to fact check her left wing sources. I saw no video evidence of her claims about O'Keefe. ACORN is not gone, it just changed its name but continues under a different guise
- bullpucky Rachel ! She is not supporting her case well enough to convince me or a court of law.
Obama is using recess appointments just like Bush did and Clinton - no problem there. Rachel doth protest too much without adequate evidence.

"What facts did she get wrong ?
First off, she defends ACORN, which is responsible for election fraud in a number of states" - KS
ACORN has never been charged with or convicted of election fraud.
You just can't help yourself, can you? It's like you have fact-free Tourette's.
"I saw no video evidence of her claims about O'Keefe"
That's because you don't have access to O'Keefe's raw video. California's Attorney General, however, does have access to them, and he reviewed them, and issued a report about them. Did you hear Maddow quoting from the report? Tell you what KS, watch the video again, pay attention this time, and post back.
Posted by: Tigsnort | April 03, 2010 at 08:44 PM
Are you denying that ACORN has been charged with election fraud ?
Now I know you are dishonest or ignorant or both.
Racheal's hearsay is not good enough for me. She can fool the wingnuts most of the time, but I need to see the proof. Then I'll be objective and see the other side of the story - bigovernment..com and let everyone jusdge for themselves.

Posted by: Julia | April 03, 2010 at 10:12 PM
KS, "voter fraud" and "registration fraud" are two completely different things. A handful of ACORN employees have been charged with filling out voter registration cards with bogus info (in order to meet quotas). The employees were fired. This was not a conspiracy by ACORN, nor was it by any means indicative of any kind of systemic corruption. And it had nothing to do with "voter fraud" which involves people falsely voting in actual elections. I know you've been brainwashed by FOX News, Limbaugh, etc into believing "ACORN committed voter fraud", but it's bullshit. Think for yourself and do your own research rather than relying on what your cult leaders instruct you to believe.
Posted by: Tigsnort | April 03, 2010 at 10:13 PM
Tigsnort aka Joanie,
It was registration fraud that led to voter fraud.
I will say that it was a misstatement on my part.
It doesn't change the fact that fraud is fraud - that still makes them a corrupt organization. You are defending the indefensable and are the pot calling the kettle black. Finally, you can dispense with the rest of your crafty but stupid talking points, Ph(J)oanie..
WTF are you defending ACORN for ? The only reason I see is that you are OK with corruption is because you believe the Demorats will win that way. Stop insulting our intelligence with your statist claptrap.

Why does America not embrace natural gas? Take Bob Brinker's idea and force all government vehicles to drive on North American natural gas! Let's go people!
Posted by: Julia | April 03, 2010 at 10:46 PM
Agree with Bob Brinker and he did say that the bone thrown by Obama earlier this week to open a few areas for offshore drilling was a good thing.
Missing from the discussion was the Cap and Tax farcial tax scheme that he and the Senate are working on behind the scenes.
I do respect Brinkers' views and he stated last week that the lawmakers up for election in November should all be fired for their gross financial negligance - spending like drunken sailors and acting like addicts and are out of control. Amen to that !

Isn't it interesting that most professional scientists and engineers have a conservative slant of the world. They understand that science rules. When politicians try to behave like scientists that's how we get into trouble.

Puget: Whenever there's a liberal pol in a sex scandal, the lib shows (like Maddow, Olbermann) always cover the story thoroughly (warts and all), and even criticize the perpetrator.
As for "lies", I can't think of any outright lies told by Dems. I'm not saying there aren't any. It's just that it happens so infrequently, none come to mind.
Why don't you tell me about some Dem lies that you feel Maddow should have covered? Because I get the feeling we may have differing definitions of "lie".

Coils and TIgsnort (still not convinced that you are not a pseudonym of Ph(J)oanie); you are part of the lowest common denominator. You believe the misinformation that you spew when there is documented evidence galore to refute it. You two have selective memory failure and look silly and pathetic for doing that.
You all remind me of Chris Matthews - who claims he never heard the word regime when stated about a presidency. He feigns forgetting about when he or other liberals referred to the Bush Presidency as such. What a pantload of dog wastes ! Matthews is pathetic and needs to take a sedative and shut up and listen for a change.

OK, Tigsnort (weird screen name) - you are not Joanie - she is more unhinged than you, but you and her are ideologues of the same stripe.
You have selective memory loss, as you use that when convenient. If I were a conspiracy theorist, I'd be a birther (which I am not) or believe Obama is the anti-Christ which I do not. However, I am unconvinced that you aren't.

the problem with your analogy, Tigs, is that if you have a number of mcdonald franchise workers similarly breaking the law (ie tainted food) than it falls into more than a rogue employee and begs the question as to the supervision by corporate management into its policies/practices.
that's how Acorn got into trouble. as you know, the dropped Acorn (misconduct) does not fall far from the tree (Management)
Posted by: Puget Sound | April 04, 2010 at 04:43 PM
the best comment i saw is this, either the report by Breitbart was substantially correct that ACORN is a corrupt organization OR it is largely untrue and the Democratic Administration and the Democratic Party was so cowardly/inept to let ACORN get defunded over a lie.
sooooo, which is it?
jeez, on my part I am having a hard time deciding... LMAO Corrupt ACORN or INEPT DIMs which is it?
(for you Jack Benny radio fans it brings to mind the schtick routine in which a robber accosts Benny on the street and demands, 'Your money or your life!' to which Benny gives his trademark pregnant pause as the robber repeats, 'Your Money or Your Life!!' and Benny replies 'I am thinking it over!')
Posted by: Puget Sound | April 04, 2010 at 08:17 PM
I say Bratbart is corrupt, since he dresses up frat boys as either pimps or has them do the bugging of US Senators. The NY Times Clark Hoyt, the ombudsman of the New York Times says Bratbart and O'Keefe lied to them about the sting. LMAO?
Posted by: Coiler | April 04, 2010 at 08:48 PM
God, I'm glad I was gone for this non-conversation. It is impossible to get a rational, reasonable and clear response from these Fixed News morons.
BTW, Tigsnort tried to answer your challenges. Instead of answering his - and posting examples of lies - you morons played your favorite game of dodge ball. Speaks for itself.
And registration "fraud" is not "voter" fraud. Most of the time, Acorn turned itself in when fraudulent registrations were uncovered. And sputs' usual stoopid analysis of Tigs' analogy doesn't hold enough water to sprout a blade of grass. No one could prove one way or the other how many employees spit into customers food. For all we know, it happens a lot. Too bad Fixed News doesn't check into that. Acorn simply tried to help people do the American thing: vote. Only the right nutcases can find a problem with that.
The courts did not find a problem.
I don't blame you for giving up, Tigsnort. First these guys are dum; them they become dummer.
Posted by: joanie | April 05, 2010 at 01:26 AM
poor joanie, once again missing the point.
so if all that you say is true joanie, then obviously the Dim Party was cowardly in not supporting ACORN and allowing them to be essentially defunded.
as for Tigsnort giving up, when facts come to play the usual suspects run away.
Posted by: Puget Sound | April 05, 2010 at 04:25 AM
So typical, the unhinged
Ph(J)oanie weighs in with her worn out diatribe that is sometimes crafty, but invariably dumb and misses the point - lame lame lame !!
Tigsnort did not answer anything significant about the over the top bias from her and MSLSD. She rightfully gave up because she couldn't come up with examples of Rachel saying anything negative about the progressivists.
One more example of Rachel's distorting the facts with her red herring. She claimed that Climategate was bullpucky because there was no data distorted or made up. Except that you missed the point...Climategate was about the climate data that was left out on purpose, when the lower than desired temperatures was believed to change their predetermined conclusions - nothing said about distorted or tampered with data that was included.

Way to take a stand on the Acorn pimp , occupations and war ...shhhhhh. Why do you think they got rid of Phil Donahue , they wanted someone to play the left V right paradigm to occupy party sheep . Obama Czar Sunstein said political web sites should have Gov. Links or pop ups and should be "mandatory" if necessary , Obama's pick KAGAN said free speech should be suppressed if against society or government .
