“He’s so detached, he’s dead inside.” says a co-worker.
She’s speaks of KVI's blathering sociopath Peter Weissbach, 62, who opened his bought-and-paid-for talk show (m-f, 5-6p) -the day after the cop murders on… global warming!
This when every other talk host in town was opening phone lines to listeners to vent about the massacre in Lakewood just the day before.
Only after duress, did he eventually mention it. We doubt any listeners were still listening- probably long gone to Ron & Don (KIRO m-f, 3-7p) who were busy trying to get and keep their audience with the big, fat, wrenching story with its ongoing Seattle manhunt.
Global warming???
While we’re on the subject, we’re still wondering what the hell you gotta do to get fired from Fisher?
The Seattle Times revealed a week and a half ago that Weissbach’s (rhymes with “lies sacks”) large downtown janitorial service has long been hiring undocumented immigrants, and plenty of ‘em.
Oops.
This is the devoted libertarian/conservative/meritocrat whose oft-bragged personal narrative is of a hardworking, re-pat Canadian and refugee of socialism who did it legally and bootstrapped himself up in the Land of The Free. A Great American.
(The bootstrapping part is more bullshit, of course- he’s the scion of a rich Vancouver family, a privileged circumstance that’s dished him up an overlarge helping of “life energy” (his term for money) and affords him to indulge his hobby of mediocre broadcasting).
After all his blather about illegal immigration, accountability, and the rule of law, we just gotta “question the veil that we're told is reality” and ask, “Who the hell are you, Weissbach?” He sure isn't saying: No on-air acknowledgment of breaking the law, or forsaking his own alleged conservaive principles. He told his listeners he couldn't talk about it because it was an ongoing legal matter.
We haven’t heard of federal charges against him (yet); and hypocrisy ain’t illegal, but why does this tedious and humor-free sociopath still work at KVI?
One reason is the troubled Fisher Communications has a business arrangement with Weissbach in lieu of actually paying for his strange, one-hour drivetime show whose basic script hasn’t changed since the mid-'90's.
Officially, Fisher is see-no-evil about Weissbach’s legal problems in the hopes, perhaps, that it’ll go away…
(Fisher’s weird about getting rid of people. They gave April Zepeda no reason whatsoever when they canned her (and it cost them dearly). And the explanations they gave Kirby Wilbur and Bryan Suits when they dumped them, turned out to be apocryphal. But Weissbach has been well-exposed breaking the laws of God and man, and he’s still blabbing away on “Thee Talk Station.”)
KVI's had a bad month. After ungracefully firing 16-year veteran Kirby Wilbur, Weissbach was caught hiring illegals. Then ace-boom advertiser and radio household name Dr. Michael Mockovac, of Clearly Lasic was arrested and being held on $2 million bail for trying to hire a hit man, and put it on his credit card.
We’re glad KVI finally wiped their website of Mockovak, and we're thinking that under their present hiring standards, they should look into signing up Bernie Ward… he’ll be come cheap when he gets out of prison.
so he allegedly pays Fisher to be on the radio and you wonder why they keep around?

So, like nobody listens to KVI anymore so how would anybody know he is there?
The only reason I know is because you told me.

Peter Weisbach is worse than boring, he's immoral and boring.

"what the hell you gotta do to get fired from Fisher?"
Apparently, attract more attention than a 'blather-blast'.

Of course Fisher gets to make the decision on who's on their payroll. I can't recommend the choices they've made on their hires and fires or any other business decision. They really lucked out that the PPMs loving KOMO100 And Star101, but KVI is totally in the shitter, and the successes of the other stations had nothing to do with any brilliant decision they've made. Peter's numbers are some of the lowest in the business- he indeed pays to get himself on the radio.

As usual, the owner of this blog doesn't know what he's talking about. He should pay closer attention to his toilet hygiene and quit shooting his mouth off about radio, a subject he's ignorant about.
Peter Weissbach is a valued Fisher employee, classic talent and has great ratings. If he wasn't, he wouldn't have a place at KVI. Wish we could talk him into doing a full 3 hours.
This immigration thing is just a speed bump, something the Obama government has pulled because he tells it like it is about the Obama government.

I think the Suit is a Pretender. A Fraud. And definitely an Empty Suit.

Translation we wish he could afford to purchase 3 hours, but now his cleaning business has to pay legal residents minimum wage.Poor bastard!
Actually Joanie, I think Corporate Suit is actually what he says he is.
Its dead air anyway so who cares. I do like the car repair shows on Saturdays though.Only thing worth listening to on 570 IMHO.

Weisbach is just another New Vitality product?

"Wish we could talk him into doing a full 3 hours."
I sincerely doubt Weissbach could afford to purchase 15 hours of airtime a week from KVI.
The only way he's gonna free up that kind of cash is by completely eliminating his ongoing purchase agreement with the Just for Men corporation.
(I'm told that Peter spends upwards of $50k a week in his never-ending quest to keep those big ol' forehead-mustaches looking as black and bushy as they did on that fateful day back in 1987 when he lost his virginity to a homosexual Puerto Rican atheist named Juan Carlos.)

First of all, if you know ANYthing about labor laws you would know that no one can occupy the radio waves in en employed basis without being paid (at least) minimum wage. Doing otherwise would open KVI up to some potentially serious future claims and I think their legal advisors wouldn't allow them to be put in such a condition.
Try to think before you spew such garbage.

Why you guys spew such dislike twords one of the few remaining local live talk host just amazes me. Will you only be happy when they are all gone and the only thing left on radio is national syndicated shows and info commercials for colon cleaners? (how clean does that thing need to be anyway BTW?)

Oh I get it, Dori Monson, Frank Shiers or anyone else that smacks of conservative are scum. I listen to Weissbach, he does OK on the air - as he is a critical thinker, though I'm disappointed about him hiring illegals - makes him a hypocrite there. BTW- he doesn't pay anyone to go on KVI - how can anyone be so stupid ?
The innuendos and half-truths are getting thick. Tony - do you have a reliable source of your assertions ? are you actually projecting about yourself or are you just a troll mole ?

KS-
Unfortunately, I am unable to reveal any information regarding my sources as they have spoken to me on condition of anonymity.
However, I think you'll find that
this photo corroborates my statement.

Nonsense!
Paying to be on the air is pretty common. You think all those miracle vitamin salesman on the weekends are actually there because of listener demand. A company sponsors the show and then the station is able pass back some of that money (wages) to the host.
Either way the result is the same. Weissbach is supposedly doing this on KVI as is Norman Goldman on KPTK 3-6pm and I am sure there are many more.

Dont mind Duffy, ExPat..his list of comebacks is only so long.
