William Shatner's new chat show, Shatner's Raw Nerve starts Sunday on the BIO Channel. We hope it's all as enjoyable as this heated exchange with Rush Limbaugh. (HT to Coiler)

Rush: "I don't believe that it is."
I love it. We now all talk politics as if it is a state of belief. Whatever happened to facts?
They look extremely uncomfortable on that couch. And if they're not uncomfortable, I was watching it.

thank you Coils, i'll be looking for it.
of course, until Shatner sits down with Takei to settle the feud that will be the real deal.
The feud
The feud explained

I give Shatner credit for having as polarizing of a figure as Limbaugh on his show, but on the other hand he just wants ratings. The video clip seems like a Mexican standoff between the two, but is only a tease and not the whole discussion. Shatner may be a moderate, which it would be refreshing and interesting to see.
Contrary to Ph(J)oanie's comment about belief, that is what liberal vs. conservative is all about - belief that one side's ideas will work better than the other side.

No, klueless. "Belief" belongs in church. Facts, information, and supported opinion belong in consequential debate and decision-making. I think you should know that.
Am watching the CSpan video of the senate debate yesterday. If there was ever any doubt, I now know exactly why I didn't even consider McCain for the stately position of President.

Oh my gosh! It is turning into BW. Baucus, rather conservative for my progressive soul, has tried to answer a question about home health care but is being attacked by McCain and Nelson with emotional tirades. It's funny.
But, Baucus kept his cool and continued to answer reasonably while McCain is practically busting his britches trying to get out his words.
The difference between the left and the right in a small video vignette. Good moment for the left.

Yeah he was really going off on being "insulted" by Sen. Kerry.
Posted by: sparky | December 06, 2009 at 04:49 PM
OMG what idiotic deductive reasoning. Please continue making fools of yourselves.
Posted by: Imogene | December 06, 2009 at 05:02 PM
Must be sputs. He's the only one that answers consistently with red herrings. "Deductive reasoning" - still trying to sound smarter than he is.

Liberalism and yes, communism fill the void created by the absence of God and becomes a religion in itself - Ph(J)oanie. Conservativism acknowledges God. Instead of jumping to conclusions as you love to do, why don't you play the entire discussion between Limbaugh and Shatner and see the whole context of what was really mant when he said "I believe".
I agree to disagree with your premise.

should be "what was really meant"

Now McCain is going on and on and on about Baucus being in the pocket of lobbyists. He keeps repeating they're cutting deals - they've made a deal - another deal! According to them, they cut a deal the AMA, Pharma, AARP, and the list goes on and on.
Good god! Nobody has the lobbyist's phone numbers like the right. This whole argument rests on defamation. Nothing else. And now they're claiming that the passion just exhibited by their colloquy is reflective of all the people nationally who don't want this bill. A little drama . . . pretty well coordinated. I wonder who wrote their script.
I guess they know the IQ level of their base.

Did you watch the rest of it?
You should be watching CSpan. So should chux and everyone else who doesn't understand the bill but trusts the name calling and emotional tirades on the right.
The level of informed opinion is so, so low. I don't understand why people with time on their hands don't want to be informed.
Posted by: joanie | December 06, 2009 at 05:19 PM
If you wanted to be truly informed you'd get the hell of this blog.

Poor sputs. He's losing it. Such emotion. Figures.
Posted by: joanie | December 06, 2009 at 05:39 PM
I think joanie is talking to herself and trying to make us think it's another poster. But she doesn't realize that her icon shows up.
Posted by: senseable | December 06, 2009 at 05:46 PM
And with that, I will be leaving for a few hours.
Certainly sounds sensible, senseable. Now go watch the healthcare debate on CSpan.
Posted by: joanie | December 06, 2009 at 05:55 PM
Joanie was having a senior moment. No sputs here.
Posted by: KS | December 06, 2009 at 07:45 PM
I don't know who this Joanie is, but she's one of the few intelligent posters I've read.
Any true trekkies on this blog?

senseable...
Posted by: sparky | December 06, 2009 at 09:08 PM
...the icons mean nothing...
Posted by: sparky | December 06, 2009 at 09:08 PM
....something that Duff has not figured out....
Posted by: sparky | December 06, 2009 at 09:10 PM
but there are other ways....
Posted by: sparky | December 06, 2009 at 09:11 PM
of knowing who it is...
Posted by: sparky | December 06, 2009 at 09:12 PM
..and I'm not talkin' IP addresses.
Posted by: sparky | December 06, 2009 at 09:13 PM
Well, you didn't come up with mine. I don't care if I have a different icon. I rarely use other names anyway.
Just got back home. It is so cold out there! I hope it snows. I want a snow day! :)

"I rarely use other names anyway?"
So which false names have you been posting under, Joanie?
Did the G-Master get to you that much?
Sparkles is right, there are other ways other than IP Addresses. Such as self-admissions. Too funny. LMAO.
Posted by: Puget Sound | December 07, 2009 at 03:05 AM
Not smart enough to figure that one out?
