It’s Geov Parrish’s 50th birthday (and that’s quite an accomplishment since docs told him in 1991 he didn't have a year to live).
Geov is a longtime Seattle writer, editor, activist and radio commentator on the long-running (since 1996) Eat the Airwaves (KEXP Saturdays, 8:30-9a). He's an occasional contributor to BlatherWatch and Horses Ass.
Friday evening, Nov. 13, join MC David Goldstein, Crosscut's Knute Berger, former school board president Brita Butler-Wall, Real Change's Tim Harris, KEXP's Maria Tomchick, and Mike McCormick and Lansing Scott from Geov's durable publication, Eat the State as we celebrate the occasion by roasting him up good.
He'll get his 'just desserts' at the University Baptist Church, 47th & 12th NE in Seattle’s University District, where there will be cake. Tickets are $15 or two for $25; all proceeds benefit Eat the State! Doors open at 7p.
It was absolute joy watching Geov turning on the spit and a dentist's dream as teeth were bathed in sugar! The wit was tart and the tarts were sweet...a fine celebration!
