CNN's Larry King (and former Bush press secretary Ari Fleischer argued with her recently: "They're talking (to) about 1 percent of the population," he said. "They had no effect on the election. ... Would you want them to be the voice of the Republican Party?" Didn't faze the ungrammatical Bachmann, who has one of the largest press operations in Congress, "it's all about the ratings." Elections, polling don't count- it's Arbitron and Nielsen who take the real pulse of voters.
Think Progress pulled this dialogue:
KING: Would you want the Limbaugh, that crowd — would you want them to be your voice as the Republican Party stands in this country?
BACHMANN: Well remember it’s who the American people are referring to Larry. And the American people are looking to voices like Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Glenn Beck –
KING: I just told you — it’s 2 percent of America. It’s 2 percent!
BACHMANN: If you look for a critical mass, that’s the movement, that’s the direction that the critical mass is going. And the American people are very smart people.
Conflating radio and teevee entertainers ratings with political consensus is a fool's paradise. (And Fleischer, a pro, knows it). While stoking anger against the Democrats will help, the Republicans had better figure out a way to get some real ratings among voters who aren't crazy like Fox News. (FNC's audience on a good day is around 3 million viewers, and that includes all the liberals they claim as viewers).
These icons suggest a pattern. Looking at the archives I find a association.
By the way joanie, it was Coiler not Andy responding.

wow, looks like things have been ip-ified (or cookied?). sweet. if that's the case my predictions are...
1. there are only 5 individuals that post comments regularly but those 5 have up to 4 different names
2. some of those mpd's argue with themselves (seek help), some support their own arguments with comments from their other personalities (seek help)
3. there will be better discussions to be had here now that that some level of honor is enforced and this will encourage others to engage in the discussions
4. some jokers will figure out that there are ways around this stuff.

Not a good for protesting either. Saw some “reject 5688” twits today. Waving their signs and embarrassing the teens that were dragged to this rally. But when the heavens opened up and a torrent of rain met these squealing hypocrites they ran like rats. It was exquisite.
