Tuesday oddems: boring beckwatch, bremerton bombast, bang bus bimbos, burley belchers, bad boned birdies

~~ Live & yokel. Fascinating man, Frank Shiers (KIROFM m-f,7-11p). That's why he gets the press he gets... in Bremerton. In a great piece with great pictures, his hometown paper, The Kitsap Sun, gives us the lowdown on the Frank, who may be Too Ugly To Die (TUTD). We especially liked it because Steven Gardner thoughtfully included a couple of nasty comments of ours about Frank. If you read the whole thing you'll find out that Frank was disappointment to his father too.

~~ Ouch. we wuz punked too. Gliding by the Dori Monson Show (KIROFM m-f, 12-3p) Monday, we heard the little bugger tell listeners: "Go up to muh show page and check the live cam. I posted a personal question I want yuh to help me with." We fell for it, went up there... "Should I get a haircut today?" was magic markered on a piece of paper behind the little guy. We felt dirty and used, like we just got off the Bang Bus without the underwear we go on with. That may not be as bad as feeling the desperation it took to pull that little trick, Dori did need a haircut, except for that front part of his hair that doesn't grow by itself. (Live cams: Dori, some people shouldn't be on teevee.... Like Frank Shiers who we hear says he'll not use the web cam until he loses some weight).

~~ Yeah, you're right, RobP. We have been the BeckWatch blog, lately. We're ratings whores, too, and having Beck in our backyard brought a butt-load of national traffic, and gave us some of the attention we crave and adore. We also were (and still are) the place to go for Mt. Vernon politics, a much neglected newshole within the greater newshole... Stay tuned for news of Mayor Bud, and insider coverage of the internecine battles for the 2010 Tulip Festival poster design. 

~~ more vandalism against KRKO, whose tower array was knocked down earlier this month. A virtual tome was spray-painted on a building visible from Highway 522. "MBA KRKO/Snotdol Empire. If you continue to risk killing children, mother earth and her creations, all your holdings are targets. Rise up earth children, ever, ever, ever, ever so carefully. They watch everything. The time is now. Authentic ELF? Ask ATF/FBI about restricted water mains. Little water, better burn. ELF." Is it really ELF who's responsible? They've taken, the credit, as usual- they're assholes. But their willingness to take it is, as always, great cover (and a great left-wing narrative) for anyone in the bitter fight against the Skotdal family trying to keep the radio towers upstanding. The FBI is on it.

There is no central ELF, so every act is copy-cat by definition. It has nothing to do with the environment and everything to do with justifying lighting fires or destroying property. The typical IQ of an arsonist is between 70 and 90 and people who commit crime in general have a lower IQ. Those poorly written "ELF" responsibility signs don't bespeak of a high IQ. They're not environmentalists. All the tree huggers I know are well above average intelligence. The real question is why did someone actually want to light that building on fire? Why did someone actually want to knock over those radio towers?

I prefer O'Donnell on Countdown. Keith is getting a little cheesy. Seems like O'Donnell moves the show along better.

Clinton easily and eagerly went down the con's path. He didn't put up much of a fight. Hilary Healthcare notwithstanding, Clinton was the happy con on the left. Goes back to his Arkansas days when he had to become more conservative to win. That set the pattern.

The DNC is continuing the fraud.

I think it's only a matter of time (and it c/be shortly) that the lovely and gracious Ms Palin will likely divorce her husband.
She will never again be able to successfully run for political office.

She does not need to run for office. She can project power from her soap box, make great money to support herself and God, can she drive the libs nuts.
She will have influence on both sides of the aisle.
She is more likely to go at it from a libertarians point of view as that seems to be more where her heart is.
We will see. Palin is going to be around for a while and will be of help in evicting the neo-commies from office.

It's definately not a fluff piece. It's as kind as it is harsh.

I'm sick of the assertion that Shiers is "center right". He's all about the "Obamacare" and he's worried that Obama is indoctrinating school children. It's cookie cutter Limbaugh without the personality. He speaks to an audience that already agrees with him. I'd rather hear someone who has clearly thought things out for themselves. Using a partisan buzzword like "Obamacare" just shows that you've went into the debate with your mind already made up. That's what makes him predicatable radio, and predictable radio means bad radio.

That she is an opportunistic babe on the speakers' circuit, making headlines whenever she can to make a buck, sell her book, doesn't bother me. Frank probably told his hometown newspaper interviewer something almost exactly liek this--- "I'm pretty populaR HERE ON kiroFM EXCEPT FOR SOME BLOGGERS OVER ON BLATHERWATCH....but those are just a few 40 year old kids still living in mom's basement , with ditrty hair, typing on 10 year old Dell's running Windows 2000." Big Frank will wait fo rthe laughter from the reporter which actually will not come, as the gu is bright enough to recognize selfserving' defensive drivel when he hears it. Also as a listener to Frank's show , hes heard him use this exact same line for the past 4 years. For the record, my computer is a brand new Compaq Presario running Windows 7......oh and i live on the ground floor.....in Queen Anne , not Georgetown or South Park....
