Wanna look cool, and know that somebody gives a shit what media you watch or listen to?
You missed your chance, although you really never had one.
A few hours ago, before Arbitron had them yanked down from eBay, you could bid for not only 3 Portable Personal Meters, but also an PPM encoder. The seller claimed they'd all "fallen off the truck" (a shopping opportunity also known as a "NY White Sale").
Radio-info's Tom Taylor reported Tuesdsay that the devices wouldn't have worked without first being charged-up remotely by Arbitron, but for industry intelligence purposes, the devices might have been priceless.
The hardware was being bid-up overnight with Arbitron leading the pack with bids over $100.
The ratings giant must have prevailed with eBay management: the items were pulled down, with an hour to spare before the 3:09p Wednesday expiration time.
Yah... I think it's called "stolen property". Ebay tends to take that stuff down pretty quickly, once notified that somebody's trying to make a buck
