Glennn:, "This is gonna be bigger than Watergate," Billo: "It's never gonna be reported."
Bill O'Reilly. and Glennn Beck, those rapacious Fox News evening chat stars have uncovered "The Biggest Scandle [sic] in American History" -- with the President of the United States, the General Electric Co. and NBC News as co-conspirators!!!
Billo is "staying on this thing," and Glennn is covering it like Geico, but they're pretty mad: CNN, New York Times, 60 Minutes, and ABC News are ignoring it.
They forgot to mention: the Fox News Department won't report it either!
While Billo and Glennn are on their white horse of journalistic reform and oversight, they might start in the Fox News Channel basement with Brett Baier, Brit Hume, Bill Sammon, Chris Wallace, Major Garrett, and everyone else in that nearly respectable news organization they've got going there. (Rich Johnson? here's a career-maker for you...)
But so far Fox News is using their 10-foot pole on this huge, HUGE, "bigger-than-Watergate," blockbuster dug up by the Big Fat Head and his son, the Little Head Fat.
(Freed as it was from the collar buttons of the armshirt he wears under the suit jacket he always looks uncomfortable in, Glenn's recently re-acquired second chin wobbled in feigned outrage -- or was it a parody of feigned outrage? or a feigned parody of feigned outrage. he's such a cRaZY guy, you never know what kind of feignin's goin' on with Glennn, but rest assured, its feigned).
O'Reilly hates NBC because Keith Olbermann laughs at him in an entertaining way every dayto an eager audience, and after years of negotiations between Fox's Roger Aisles and NBC news execs, THEY WON'T MAKE HIM QUIT!
So O'Reilly has gone after GE, NBC's the parent company. It's as simple and as trivial as that. He can't take it.
The made-for-TV "scandle" is that O'Reilly claims MSNBC talk show hosts support Obama because General Electric" CEO Jeffery Immelt wants to reap the benefits of huge government contracts that might be let when Obama's energy plans pass Congress.
"Now, most CEOs would have stopped NBC's corruption a long time ago, but Immelt may be looking for a major payoff," O'Reilly said. "According to reporting by the Washington Examiner, GE is heavily lobbying the Obama administration for bailout money. The company is also pushing for the proposed cap-and-trade program. Apparently GE has set up a joint venture it hopes would manage billions of dollars in cap-and-trade transactions should that corporate carbon tax pass Congress."
There's plenty missing from this "scoop" ... like everything after the part where MSNBC hosts like Obama. Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, and Rachel Maddow openly display their stated progressive views, every day on the air.
But that that means there's a quid pro quo with GE scoring contracts for programs that don't even exist, yet is an extrapolation that no real reporter would put into print or go on the air with.
The Washington Examiner piece cited its speculations on the fact that Obama's budget contains a line that proposes cap & trade. Then they cite a letter where Immelt writes that he believes that the Obama administration will be a profitable “financier” and “key partner.”
GE has never not been a huge government contractor... if Immelt did not develop "green" technologies in the new energy world, and go after government contracts, he would be irresponsible to his stockholders.
The Washington Examiner is a McPaper published by religious right-wing billionaire Philip Anschutz. No one else, not Fox News Channel or the Washington Times published by right-wing billionaire Sun Myung Moon is going with this one.
It's another of Billo's self-propelled venge-fests which he puffed up last April, and juiced it up again Friday with the help of Junior. Like his other phony "investigations," it will have no natural death but will die off like an old papier-mache whale after a 15-minute lifetime in the sea of reality.
Everyone knows the biggest scandle [sic] in American history was the group "Scandle [sic] featuring Patty Smyth."

Watching the two kiss up like that on the clip reminds us of the joanie/sparky or the sparky/coiler show. That's pretty much their modus operendi.
I think this is mostly sensationalization on their part, no real fire here just a little smoke blown by little people who are entertainers and blow-hards, certainly not news reporters.

This is kind of sad.
When Fox picks up the hoooey, and when Rush and Savage and they all jump on board and all the semi-sane media doesn't pick the hooey up, that's when conservatives feel whole. It's when they can tell themselves they are being persecuted. Much like Koresh and Moon's crowd, it makes them feel special, like they really are the chosen people fighting evil.

Ultimately, what they are doing is demonizing any source of info that doesn't follow their world view. They do it to news outlets, individuals and organizations. By telling all those little old folks who watch O'reilly that NBC, the NYT, the WP, CNN, BBC, PBS etc, etc are evil, then the old folks don't listen to or get close to the truth/reality. They only trust approved sources of info like Rush, Fox and the queen bee, the Washington Times. It's a form of information control, a mind control technique.
Great way to maintain ratings - just condition your viewers that the rest of the world and their competition is out to get them, persecute them and deceive them for evil. It allows conservatives to think it isn't their ideology's fault the nation views them as critical thinking-free beings.
The rest of us mock them for being clowns which they are. They're also dangerous to democracy clowns as they continue to condition their followers deeper into the reality free zone.

That's what I like a coherent well laid out comment clearly stating exactly what. lmao

Glenn Beck and Billo makes a kook like Alex Jones sound sane.

What they said has merit, but the way they say it makes many wonder...
Beck is too much of a drama queen that tends to detract from his message. There is a lot of pent up anger and rage (rational and irrational) out there - just watch the ratings.

They are like parodies of bad dreams about Ted Baxter x infinity, on steroids, with bad boob jobs, all in a death spiral. The worst of the worst. I would imagine their ratings are not what they once were either; hence their desperation.

It isa cynical play to their demographic, white males over 50. Neither one of these overpaid goofs give one shit about politics. They just want the niche audience.

General Electric does stand to gain, I admit. They just announced plans to build a new factory(in New York) for industrial-scale batteries, for marine and utility applications, in addition to their new Hybrid Locomotive. It is something they have been developing, with their Evolution Locomotive, since 2002, and getting ready to go into service. The batteries in utility applications can help store the intermittent Solar and Wind power. Although there is an interesting Solar Thermal concept in Spain that seems on the verge of solving that problem.
