See Drew.

Coiler

He is on our side. We cannot fail

Chucks! Yesterday Cheney told Hannity that he personally asked the CIA to release the torture records so the people could see how valuable the torture was.

"There are reports that show specifically what we gained as a result of this activity. They have not been declassified.

And I’ve now formally asked the CIA to take steps to declassify those memos so we can lay them out there and the American people have a chance to see what we obtained and what we learned and how good the intelligence was, as well as to see this debate over the legal opinions. "

Today the CIA made this announcement via e-mail:
"The Agency has received no such request from the former Vice President.”

Later on a source familiar with the request said the former vice president made the request to the National Archives, and said that is the appropriate process for requesting declassification.

So why didn't he say so? Don't you think if torture had actually stopped further attacks, Cheney would have already broadcasted the incident....on the FOX Nutwork, no less? But nobody in the former administration can point to one attack that was prevented, or any information that was valuable.

chucks

The on-line rumors (and I recognise the source) are that an attack of the magnitude or of similar magnitude to Sept 11th was planned for Los Angeles involving the sand crab picked up at Port Angeles by the attentive border guard.
That aggressive interview techniques were used to obtain the info that stiffled the attack.
I want to know the whole truth, as I don't doubt you would like as well.
I know that it is not the most popular stance to take here, but I believe whole heartedly that Cheney had nothing but the well being and security of this nation in his heart his whole term.
If I am wrong, I want it proven with the whole truth. Not just what his political enemy's want to release for political gain.
If lives were saved in this nation, I want that exposed to.

chucks

Cheney has never been one to boast in my view. He certainly has been good at keeping secrets that keep us safe.
Now he is calling for the whole story to be devulged re water boarding and what it did to save lives.

Coiler

"save lives"...

Cheney is a liar.

Do you honestly trust this man?

chucks

Yes.

mercifurious

I for one am more than happy to give Obama credit when he doesn't fuck up. What he did in getting out of the way and letting the Navy do their jobs as they have been trained is a good thing.

Chucks: Your poop-thoughts still fit nicely into the wingnut logic grid:

Military success Dem -> Praise Military

But try try again.

Coiler

I will let Janet Napolitano do her job too. This is fun

nevets

"He certainly has been good at keeping secrets that keep us safe."

Chucks, you would think Sparky would have figured that out after the whole Plame outing. Whats she dosen't understand is that Cheney wants the public to see the truth (something the Libs dont like) now since President Obama has already declassified the memos of the interrogation program. Cheney beleives that if the President didn't see anything wrong with releasing those memos, then obvious he wouldn't see anything wrong with releasing the info gathered from the techniques in those same memos. Unless of course, it reveals that the methods do work, which is the opposite position that he campaigned on which he says no reliable info could be obtained from harsh interrogation procedures. Maybe she is feeling the Randiless blues also.

Coiler

nevets, are you admitting Cheney was behind the outing of a CIA officer?

sparky

Not even close, steven.

joanie

I believe whole heartedly that Cheney had nothing but the well being and security of this nation in his heart his whole term.

hahaha, you show your foolishness every time you post.

Don't you people know that beliefs belong in church?

One of these days you all might actually start thinking instead of believing,

joanie

Ho-hum. Now Sparky's the Randi-ite in ass-backwards misinformed brain. That's what beliefs will do to the old gray matter. Except his isn't that old.

Pitiful, isn't it?

sparky

Yes, considering I havent really listened to her since they put Rachell in her time slot and moved Randi to the dinner hours, when I dont have the radio on!..lol
But it does put words on the page, I guess.
