The grassroots turn to astroturf as Fox News Channel builds programming, organizes, and aggressively promotes the anti-Obama “tea-bagging” protests set for April 15.

The Rapings Will Continue until Morale Improves
Obama's kid bro has been deported from the UK as a violent sex offender whose last sexual conquest was a 13 year-old girl who did all she could to resist the attack but ultimately could not fight-off the forced penetration. He's now headed to the US under a forged passport. Reports are he'll be given entry.

It's not really "grassroots" if it's being fronted by a cable network, especially one with a clear political bias.

Hm.... if this were a left-wing protest against a right-wing president, do you suppose Fox would be giving it the same "coverage"? Like, for instance, massive protests against the Iraq War or globalization?
Well, no. Those protesters are dirty irresponsible traitors. The Teabaggers are, well, on "our" side.
So, does Fox still pretend to be "fair and balanced"?

if the theme of the 'teabagging' protest is to highlight the ridiculousness of using your money to bail out irresponsible borrowers then i have little problem with the protests.
ironically, the ones that should be protesting are the ones who will be saddled with the bill. of course, these people are too young to understand.
think college tuition costs and the complaints you hear AFTER the fact about how much those student loans are costing to repay. THEN multiply by a factor of (2-3-you pick a number) and THEN you'll have an idea of how wicked the blowback will be down the line.

The younger ones who should be protesting are too dumbed down about economics to understand. Many of them have been educated in the public school system that subtly suggests; Democrat = good and in the right direction and Republican = bad and in the wrong direction throughout the 20th Century, not just one recent President.
The biggest problem I have is the propping up of banks laden with toxic assets and enabling first by the Bush Admin., then followed by Obama's Admin. The situation with GM and the big three auto makers was also handled very sloppy by the current President and his Administration. They have continued to do a lot of saber rattling about Government controlled health care and Carbon taxes (ie Cap & Trade) that will be passed on to the consumer. There is more than enough to protest about, but the protesters need to take a lesson from community organizers and do it in a more effective way to warrant more exposure. Staging these Tea or Latte parties during off-work hours is key to doing this. Why are they holding many of these during the middle of a weekday instead of on a Saturday or Sunday ? Duh !

Fox is the lone voice in the wilderness that will show these protests. The other networks are too biased toward the left, which translates to unbalanced. Fairness ? It's in the eye of the beholder - Fox may strive to be balanced, but they are not always fair. Consequently, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC and CBS are unbalanced favoring the left and not always fair themselves.
"Well, no. Those protesters are dirty irresponsible traitors. The Teabaggers are, well, on "our" side."
Liar. Give us a break - You don't really care about fair and balanced, you are a partisan hack who just wants the left to win by whatever means it takes, in other words, its all about you. BTW - Fox DID cover protests about the Iraq War and globalization. Another Friend of Sparky ?

Will Chuck Norris be there, like the last 'big event'?

They deserve the same amount of media attention the anti-war protests got, that is, as much as the amount of actual news is made. The anti-war protests never got much attention because they were small, non-violent and insignificant. The immigration-reform protests of 2008 with the Latinos were so massive and in so many cities they got lots of ink.
My guess is that the anti-spending rallies will be a few hundred folks in a half-dozen cities that will not merit all that much press attention. That is because there simply isn't enough dissatisfaction with how Obama is handling things to get people in numbers out to demonstrate. Street protests in this country don't really mean much anyway no matter who does them left or right. Fox News is shrewdly cementing in their ratings dominance. It's a promotional campaign with a grassroots activism theme starring their broadcast personalities. It's inexpensive promotion with the conservative true believers doing all the work.

Republicans don't really know how to effectively protest or demonstrate against anything. It's why they need help from FNC. Can you remember anytime the conservatives ever took to the streets over anything?

Kill your television (except to watch the Mariners!)
Posted by: AprilMayJune | April 12, 2009 at 02:56 PM
Only if you kill your radio. Then you won't get paranoid listening to all of those foaming at the mouth right-wingers fomenting bile and disdain against the fiscally irresponsible Obama Administration that has no conscience when it comes to spending other people's money.

KS
eventually, they'll run out of spending other people's money. as margaret thatcher noted, 'that's the problem with socialism. EVENTUALLY you run out of other people's money.'

PS,
Correct, and then all the entitlement programs that they implement become unsustainable and the people, led by the useful idiots suffer because they gave too much power to the Government.
That is why this trend needs to be fought for the preservation of the lifestyle we have now for our children and our grandchildren. PS - We are doing it for the children !!

By PAUL KRUGMAN
Published: April 12, 2009
This is a column about Republicans — and I’m not sure I should even be writing it.
Today’s G.O.P. is, after all, very much a minority party. It retains some limited ability to obstruct the Democrats, but has no ability to make or even significantly shape policy.
Beyond that, Republicans have become embarrassing to watch. And it doesn’t feel right to make fun of crazy people. Better, perhaps, to focus on the real policy debates, which are all among Democrats.
Ain't it the truth...

OK, have it your way. However, Krugman is a political shill, besides being an economist. Keep thinking that way, progressive/regressives. IF the country goes to hell, it will be the loony left's fault - sealed and delivered. May I ask why they want to pull this kind of shit ? Do they not consider the future consequences ? (I think I know the answer) For the record, inquiring minds would like to know, but won't hold our breath for any sort of coherent explanation.
Obama is no better than Bush when it comes to escalating in a war (although it is more meaningful than Bush's war in Iraq) and has shown to be even worse when it comes to growing government. Just like Clinton was one of the best Republican Presidents for a balanced budget, Conversely, Bush was one of the better Democrats when it came to spending and growing government.

There is not one country that has success with socialism! America is great because of the founding fathers who were not greedy left winged socialist wanting power, but to the people be the power.
You cant just keep taking from the backbone of the country which is the people who actually get out there and work to make a living and give it to the people who dont want to work (majority of obamas voters) We need to walk in Ronald Reagans footsteps to pick this country back up.
