Bla'M can you verify that Carleen Johnson is on maternity leave?

BaBa Boey

Why, do you want to check out her juggs?

X3NA

We see the righties all over the dial, but only one progressive station (Dave Ross doesn't make KIRO a lefty station, maybe the case could be made when they had Carl Jeffers too). So maybe someone will snap up KVI and make a sister station to 1090. You can't get more "left on the dial" than 570. The GOP saw all those red states turn purple, now they can watch the real estate on the airwaves slip away too.

sparky

Actually, that is an idea..and it could be a local left station that Bla'M has been pining for...
Local during the day, and then carry shows like Peter B. Collins, Peter Werbe, Bree Walker, and Lynn Samuels. If I had a gazillion bucks, I would do that.

joanie

One can only hope, X. The problem, it seems to me, is that the left isn't as talented at spewing filth. Listen to Tom, David Bender, Peter B., Mark Green, Arianna Huffington, Sam Seder, Dave (leaning left) Ross, Big Ed, and even Randi who is less amenable to ignorance than the others, are more reasoned and you'll hear a balanced discussion with guests with guests to whom they actually listen. Where's a Michael Reagan or Glenn Beck in that bunch?

Years ago, I heard (and have posted several times) the comment that negativity is bonding. It is emotional. Keeping an open mind and looking for information that may prove one wrong, creates an inner sense of vulnerability. It can be threatening to an ego.

So, better to remain emotional and fight even when the facts prove otherwise and the weapons of choice become directed at the messengers instead of the message.

In a nutshell, the difference between liberals (who spend much less time emailing insults about everything conservative than conservatives do about everything liberal) and conservatives.

Puget Sound

Joanie, I guess you hit on why Sparky won't admit that she made a mistake.

chucks

Sparky and Joanie
We have gone over this before. The problem with radio is pictures. Radio does not have pictures. Your typical liberal needs pictures to keep up. You two can keep up with out pictures and assume, perhaps that all libs are like you.

What's your source for that, chucks?

BTW, if you're saying that liberals need pictures, can we also say that conservatives need puts downs?

Puget Sound

as if you don't engage in it.
stop acting like you're above the fray.
hell, i've seen you say a lot of nasty cracks to include when chucks lost his job.
remember that? very classy.

What the heck is going on? I guess the blog gods think that what ever I post is important as it is making sure my postings show up multiple times.
And you know that it is fact, as I made it up my self. Unlike others that use facts made up by complete strangers, I on rare occasion rely on me.
In my studies, I see lib radio fail time after time. I see where TeeVee goes on year after year full of lib propaganda and it lives on for decades.
Information is the same, but the TeeVee has pictures and the radio has none. My conclusion is drawn from that.

rozskat

KVI went downhill after they lost Rush and moved off Medved. The old Carlson time slot was in limbo even during the Weissbach years. Old John Carlson show just didn’t seem to pick up after John’s failed bid for governor. I do give John credit for talking and listening to those with an opposing point of view. Even G. Gordon Liddy does that! However the message from the conservatives got stale and nothing new came about.

Have to tip my hat to the Fisher suits though. Imagine that, management in an American corporation taking voluntary pay cuts.

Puget Sound

G Gordon use to do a traveling show with Timothy Leary. Later he partnered up with Al Franken. Franken speaks highly of the G Man.

A voluntary pay cut is much preferred over an involuntary let go.
Which is why people that make fun of those who lost their jobs (aka Joanie) are reprehensible.

joanie

full of lib propaganda

That's exactly what I'm talking about, chucks. We should just all laugh at your charmin' way of putting us down and walk away as if everything you say is true.

Charmers are often passive-aggressive because they can't afford to be honest and up front. Somebody might not like them. Salesmen need to be liked.

As you would say, dayum, I want to like you too. I liked our earlier chats. But, I don't like the put downs wrapped in charm. Sorry.

joanie

Roz, did you see my response to your Healy question? Don't even remember the thread!

chucks

But in my post Ms Joanie, I acknowledged that both you and Sparky do keep up without pictures. I was in fact complementing you (and meant it).
Anyway, if you are in a mind to get in to a whole new pissing match, well so be it. Not what I was fishing for, but will humbly oblidge.

joanie

The pissing match continues as long as you keep pissing. Are you pissing? Do you intend to keep pissing in your charming way?

Sweet nuth'ns wrapped in piss don't count fer much, sweetness.

See, I can do it, too.

And if you humbly oblige this sweet little woman, it will be a first. Cuz, darlin', you jenally walk away.

Geez, that sounds like a Johnny Cash tune if I ever heard one.

joanie

Bottom line, chucks: you keep those charming put-downs comin' and we're still pissin'

Up to you, love.

joanie

Oops! I think he walked away.

Me, too. Time fer others to resume the discussion. I humbly recede into the snowy sunset.

(Got kind of deep, huh?)

I note you do no include Mike Malloy in that list. As I work in the automotive industry I found him to be talking out his ass most the time; a twin to Mark Levin.

Fred Phelder

While you all were busy, commenting on each other's piss, KOMO, and all of Fisher's other network stations got yanked off of Dish Network. Seattle, Portland, Coos Bay, Eugene, Roseburg, Spokane, and Boise Dish customers currently have no ABC feed.

Fisher claims to be diligently negotiating, but to no avail.

Dish claims Fisher wants an unreasonable 82% increase in carriage fees...

Undoubtedly, this explains the happy faces during KING, KIRO and Q13's snow coverage today.

joanie

No, I purposely didn't include him. I think he does get pretty rank. I don't listen to him except occasionally. And for that reason. He can be over the top. And I think that the guy who was recently let go for his comments heard over the air is another one.

There are a few although I only know of those two. Wouldn't you agree there are many more on the right? Perhaps not. Can the right boast as many reasonable people as I've included above? And they're almost all on one station. Cause we only have one liberal station.

Love the shoe arcade, fremont. So far, I have a score of four but I'm working hard on raising that score.

chucks

I noticed that this AM Fred. I am a Dish customer. It really does not matter that we have no KOMO. We Blatherwatch fans pretty much fired them when they let April get away.
I only got two there Fremont. I guess I am not as motivated as some others.

sparky

Yet another reason not to subscribe to Dish Network. It doesn't carry any of the stations I watch regularly on cable, anyway.

joanie

Aw, c'mon chucks. I got it up to five. Can't help it if I'm a high achiever. :)

sparky

whoo hooo! 5 here too. Took me several times to get over 2, though.

joanie

Seattle's schools are closed tomorrow as well. Actually, not good for those of us in classrooms. The last thing we want to do is go back and finish up December '08 in January '09.

I'm going to try to get some of my kids to meet me at school next week to finish up our projects.

They're lovin' the snow though.

Marc

I remember the day KVI started the decline. It was when Michael Medved left to 770 because the big brains thought Shawn Hannedy would do better for them. Then Rush Lindbaugh jumped ship to 770. 770 is pretty much the new kvi. All the old listeners just changed channels. There is no decline in conservative listenership. I actually prefer it to the old kvi in its hayday. I could do without michael savage, but david bose, rush, medved, and oreilly are top shelf.
