Willy cunningham: a two-legged, small-peckered, tiny-minded, foul-smelling reason why right-wing talk radio is doomed

Syndicated Christian talker and values huckster Willy Cunningham (KVI Sundays, 7-10p) said on Cincinnati local radio Tuesday of Barack Obama's childhood: "Imagine at the age of 1 or 2 seeing your father for the last time. See, his father was a typical black father who, right after the birth, left the baby. That's what black fathers do. They simply leave."

It's getting desperate. The electoral paths to victory for Olde John McCain are fewer and fewer: nothing that his campaign has thrown at Obama has stuck, so it's left to the talk radio slop-trough creepy-crawlers like Cunningham.

(With surrogates like Cunningham, is it any wonder Republicans rarely convince black voters -- or brown, for that matter -- to vote for Republicans?)

McCain was once an honorable man. KVI was once an honorable station, why do either one of these entities put up with him? This is certainly not the first time we've heard such inciteful rhetoric from this guy.

Obama tells rachel maddow some stuff liberals may not want to hear

Barack Obama told Rachel Maddow he's not a harsher critic of the Republican Party because he's trying to build what he calls a "working majority for change."

In the MSNBC interview with Rachel in Sarasota Thursday, Obama said he didn't want to risk alienating Republicans who think the Bush administration has damaged the country.

Maddow asked Obama why he mostly limits his criticisms to Bush and McCain instead of the party or conservatism in general.

Rachel Maddow (KPTK m-f, 6-7p (PDST) just twittered she's finished her interview with Barack Obama in Florida.

It'll air at the top of her teevee show tonight, and is the latest feather in the fancy media hat she's only recently donned.

But is there more to it than that?

Friends of the 35-year-old broadcast sensation, are twittering over the idea that she may have a future in an Obama government, should there be one.

"Let me just say, the idea has been broached with her," says a source who wouldn't be named.

Reichert's sexed-up heroism in the green river case

Darcy Burner is the smart-as-a-whip candidate trending ahead in the 8th congressional district against Dave "the Coif" Reichert. Now that's she's threatening the order, The Seattle Times, Reichert attack ads, and Myron "Dori" Monson (KIRO m-f, 12-3p) have been calling her a liar, alleging the Harvard computer Science/economics grad puffed up her résumé.

A career law enforcement bureaucrat, Reichert, whose media grandstanding earned him the nickname, "Sheriff Hairspray." He's been one of the least effective members of congress In 2006, we reported how the former sheriff lied and sexed-up his part in catching the Green River Killer. Though you'd never know this by local mainstream coverage, this is still relevant this year, so we're reprinting it today.

Is reporting the truth media bias?

Is the mainstream press so in the tank for Obama? that McCain/Palin get a break?

The chattering class of the right (talk radio, Fox News) is touting a poll released Monday and funded by the respected Pew Research Center, suggesting a horrific imbalance in favorable coverage between the campaigns.

Researchers found that McCain, over the six weeks since the Republican convention, got four times as many negative stories as positive ones. The study found 60% of McCain stories were negative.

Obama had more than twice as many positive stories (36%) as McCain — and just half the percentage of negative (29 percent).

In 2000, it traded at more than $66.

We remember how well they managed KIRO and KTTH, and wondered, What could have gone wrong?

When a moral midget like Myron Monson (KIRO m-f, 12-3p) calls us a liar, we get mad.

We wish Darcy Burner (running for congress in WA-8) would get mad... and the hell on the radio to tell that partisan pantload and his listeners what she thinks of people who call her a liar!

So far, the Burner campaign has only sent surrogates to defend her. But this is about her honor. She should look Li'l Myron in the eye, and speak for herself.

It's a fear Republicans are whispering in talk radio listeners' ears to scare them into voting Republican.

If Obama's elected, they say, and there's a Democratic House and Senate -- particularly a super majority -- the spiteful libs will bring back the Fairness Doctrine.

Al franken is a contender

Only weeks ago, former comedian and Air America radio talk host Al Franken looked as if he were bound to return to Air America, his comedic roots, and Saturday Night Live.

Today, the nemesis of Rush Limbaugh, and Billo Reilly is considered the frontrunner in his race against Minnesota neoconconservative slimeball Sen. Norm Coleman.
