Plaid shirts? salmon stickers? WTF is he talking about??? Guess because his ratings really suck in Seattle that he can trash his hometown... When it comes to Glenn Beck (KTTH m-f, 6-9a) we'll put our money on the Mormon underwear, and the big mouth...
Comments
methinks I need to find his high school picture from Mt Vernon...and see who wore a plaid shirt.
Mr. Beck, we don’t need successful expatriates telling us what idjuts we’ve become here. Did you hear Dori’s Anti-Seattle Block Party show, or read his blog at: http://www.mynorthwest.com/?nid=91
If you don’t care for Dori (who just got huge one-month ratings), then try Seattle Times columnist Nicole Brodeur from Friday’s edition:
Beck is animated, but he raises a valid point about how the rest of this country looks at Seattle - like it or not/ being offended by this is rather futile and a tired argument.
With that said, I don't listen to him in the mornings, but I have heard that he is in the top 10 rated talk shows nationally, but don't have those stats readily available. Not opposed to the plastic bag charge, per say - but am dubious about what wasteful government programs that Nickels will try finance with this surcharge.
The bag thing is fine (I don't want whales choking on plastic masses, either.) BUT, most of the cities that are going Green along these lines, simply banned the bags, they didn't tax them, along with the recycled paper bags, like our "leadership" did here. Dori's lone voice is getting louder and louder. Ron & Don, especially Don, aren't too stoked on Mayor McCheese, either. Of course, I only mean this in a Pacific Northwest oriented radio commentary sense, as I wouldn't want to send the thread of this Nationally known blog askew.
Why would the rest of the country be looking at Seattle, we haven't had any right wing nuts shooting up a cultural or religious place in a couple of years. Will Beck move to Knoxville?
We may be politically correct, but the skinheads live in Wenatchee, and Everson. Funny how people from all over are pouring into Seattle (and have been for 40 years)leaving those "values villages" in the boonies as fast as they can. Beck couldn't make it in Seattle (and he was a liberal then. He's made itnow by the grace of an excellent blowjob on an ABC exec. He is trying to out-Savage Savage. He's a punk.
Uh, we had the horrific Capitol Hill Massacre, Saturday March 25, 2006. Remember? There was a zombie themed rave at the CHAC (Capitol Hill Arts Center), ironically themed "Better Off Dead." A 28 year old from Whitefish Montana killed 6 and wounded 2. Your point is that Seattle tragedy and carnage is somehow better than carnage that happens in other places??? How arrogant! This is exactly the insanity that Dori is addressing. OK, here's your point retold: Seattle, where our horriffic killings are better than yours, because we're morally superior to you, and don't listen to Bill O'Reilley or go to church!!! A nut is a nut, regardless of "wing." A view expressed only to reflect the nature of the Tacoma/Seattle radio market and not to interfere with the National, Major whoop de doodle associated with this fine blog. I couldn't believe it when Bla'm listed the radio shows and literature of the recent church shooter. That line of thought is in the same toilet bowl as Homeland Security trying to get reading lists from bookstores. It all swirls around. Why don't we list all the radio shows we don't like as subversive?
EDIT---I was going so fast and angry that I lefet out...Later, at a nearby after party, A 28 year old,,,
I don't want the facts wrong, out of respect for those killed.
Dori said those kids died because they made a bad choice to be out late at a party, and it was also the parents' fault too. So apparently we can't blame the killer.
Peter Bs first hour yesterday featured Thom Hartmann who, along with Peter B, is at the Talk Radio gathering in Madison, WI. Thom talked a lot about conservative talk radio and said two interesting things: that it took Rush Limbaush many years (over a decade) to get enough of an audience that he could stay on the air. Apparently, he was scheduled for cancellation and mounted an effort which worked to stay on the air.
Also, he responded to a caller who said that all conservative talk radio did was repeat talking points by disagreeing with that. He said the only host he's heard that does that is Haniity and that the whole Fox network does that.
Hartmann said he listens to a lot of conservative talk and that most of them are quite different from each other. He then talked about how much Limbaush hates Bush.
He added that most conservative hosts actually fail and don't have big audiences.
Anyway, can't prove any of this by me. But, you can hear it on Peter B. Green960AM, hour 1, Aug 1. The three hours he's doing from the Madison talk radio fest is extremely interesting.
That's rich, twist it back on Dori. And how does that change the "our horror" is more intelligent than your horror post above? Only as it relates to meta talk talk from Wisconsin, and talk-radio in general, through the prism of the Seattle/Tacoma Nexus, of course. Go Badgers!,,,I don't have the transcript in front of me, but that sounds like Dori, though I know that he never "blamed" the victims, but did question what the underage kids were doing at the rave, through the comparison of his own parenting. SEE, visa vee the radio box for me, I can still enjoy the Dori Monson SHOW without being offended. I'm an Obama fanatic, for instance, and I find his Obama rants entertaining. I've been armed for bear at "the water cooler" (long ago removed in the cut backs) by experiencing Dori's take. The only radio that I ever find "offensive" is that Goldy fellow, not for his views, but for his hatchet and flame thrower radio touch: "You know caller I don't even, uh, know where to begin with that, it's so extreme, though, but we got to go. Thank you caller!" Click, then all rushed,,"thisidavidgoldsteinfillinginfor,,," as KIRO710 music cranks up.....
Actually, there's two repeats: sat sun but he broadcasts five days a week from 3-6. I'm guessing the repeats on sat/sun are thurs/fri regular shows.
Not sure. In fact, he's on right now but I don't know which day it is. You could look at his site at green960 to find out. They have an excellent mennu of guests for each hour.

Like most everything else, Carter tried and failed. I am sure that if we all try hard enough, we can find something that Jimmy Carter, the moron President did right.
Don't try to find anything in economics or national security. Nothing there. Maybe free stuff to people that don't work?
I am going to have to give Beck a try again. When I was in commute mode, I listened to KOMO or KVI. Now that I am temporarily retired, I will listen to him.
Carter did try, which would make it 30 years ago. He tried, but did not succeed. To set the record straight, Congress is more guilty here than the Presidents. However, in 1996 - the Republican led-congress approved a bill that would have expanded offshore drilling, but Clinton/Gore vetoed it.
I always liked Snoop, cuz he's such a pot head. Concerning kids and exposure to adult content, it's a real situation. Just think of all the adult TV and video games and music of many genres, especially those aimed at The Milleniums, which seem to be all T&A and guns and gangsters. Imagine. Unfortunately, lots of kids are raised by these things. As a father with young kids and a man who listens to contemporary music(if you can call ol' shaggy Snoop Dog that; he's more icon), Obama is in the same boat as millions of folks ( a good thing, the empathy).......And the image of The Messiah dancing with his daughter is a positive one...
Carter's failure was to be dull and professorial. He never understood The Bully Pulpit.
Great, Wild Bill. The only problem is Obama releaseD a statement just the other day in response to LuDacris (The big moron rapper Luacris got all excited because Obama praised him, so he wrote a vile rap song calling Hillary a B, wishing for McCain's paralysis, and calling Bush mentally handicapped. Embarrassed by this buffoon Ludacris, Obama sent his publicists running and tripping over each other to release denouncements of him and his song , saying that he, Obama, doesn't want his daughters to be listening to negative and bad values rap lyrics. You don't get any more vile, violence-glorifying, drug-ridden or gang prmotional than Snoop Dog LYRICS. He actually brags about still being a crip, which is what he was in his youth. Obama ia shameless phony and hypocrite. His now 6 year old daughter is probably dancing around to the new Ludacris song this very morning, as Obama cheers her on.
Who gives a fuck what entertainer supports who and how?
Answer: the republican shit machine who has a bad candidate and who is throwing any old shit against the wall to see if it sticks against this talented politician.
Will the shit machine install enough doubts in the minds of the timid american public to sufficiently slime Obama with such irrelevalence? probably. they elected dumb-nutz twice with such tactics.
Hopefully they do because the far left loons have zero common sense and have selected an empty suit candidate, who's one claim to fame is being a community organizer. His straddling both sides of positions all out of political expedience are the same old smoke and mirrors with style and little substance.
It doesn't help that both parties have their faults. The Democrats have a shit machine that is more vile, thanks to the 527 groups like Media Matters, the Daily Kos and other George Soros linked groups.
McCain should be down by 15-20 pts. because of the ineptness and crapitude of two terms of Bush. However that is not the case, as they are in a statistical dead heat, which speaks to the weakness of the Democrat candidate.
This is funny. Rove gets his first ad up and running. and it's very good, the Spears/Hilton/Celebrity one. Very good Rove. However, I agree with Gergen and Will, on that Greek Fellow's (for KS and Tommy008) Sunday show. Just wait until you see how many folks that haven't voted in decades in, say Mississippi or Lousisiana stand in line all day to bring The Messiah to power, His birth sparked by the lightening bursts and the bald eagles swooping in the full-moon skies.....The Hope Machine has Prowler Gatling guns, you poor ignorant bastads. Go McCain...You all go on with your "right wing" "beliefs" and all. Just be sure sure and zip up, it's ice cold outside this time. Amd ain't no roly poly Rove boy gonna swift boat nobody this time round, lest Humpedie Dumpedie end up with a cap in the head. Amen. Ka Blam. Mop that crimson mess up, HE is coming this way....bow
A quote of interest. Seems like John Mcain was not the first to compare himself to Paris Hilton. Obambam fans (i.e. Joanie, Sparks) this might frost you... One thing I will say is that BHO has a positive if not overinflated self image.
"Andy Warhol said we all get our 15 minutes of fame," says Barack Obama. "I've already had an hour and a half. I mean, I'm so overexposed, I'm making Paris Hilton look like a recluse." (2005)
nothing you say "frosts" me KS. I learned a long time ago that many of you here live in a parallel universe and it would be foolish of me to try to change that.
Silly Billie
WTF are you trying to say? That nobody is going to dare speak the truth about the Mesiah? Or are you stating that you refuse to acknowledge anything that you don't want to hear?
I can just see you holding your hands over your ears screaming la la la la la la la like a five year old. Sorry, but the truth will come out. Hell, some of us are waiting for Hillary's people.
But you can not hide everything. Even you may be exposed to the truth.

Typo above - that should read.
Seems like John Mcain was not the first to compare Mr. Obama to Paris Hilton.

nothing you say "frosts" me KS. I learned a long time ago that many of you here live in a parallel universe and it would be foolish of me to try to change that.

That's all McGrumpy has is his anti-elitist rhetoric. The husband of a beer distributor heiress. Who drinks that shit beer anyway?

Silly Billie
WTF are you trying to say? That nobody is going to dare speak the truth about the Mesiah? Or are you stating that you refuse to acknowledge anything that you don't want to hear?
I can just see you holding your hands over your ears screaming la la la la la la la like a five year old. Sorry, but the truth will come out. Hell, some of us are waiting for Hillary's people.
But you can not hide everything. Even you may be exposed to the truth.

Just stack my greasebombs into that paper sack with the Dick's logo on it, Johnson, and hold the attitude.

Ditto back to you, Sparky with your folks's parallel universe - there are times which they merge, albeit randomly.
