Rush Limbaugh played football for one year in high school and lasted just 3 months as a sportscaster.
Now the Big Fat Head might try to buy his way into professional football.
"The Rams would be a great team to have," Limbaugh told the St. Louis Business Journal last week. "I have a lot of friends in ownership in the NFL, and my desire to get involved has not been a secret."
Limbaugh worked on ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown in 2003 until he shot his mouth off about some black football guy -- one Donovan McNabb -- and embarrassed the sports network who was unaccustomed to talent on loan from God. Their talent had to follow earthly guidelines, so they canned his broad ass.
But if Big Pants has his own team, he can say anything he wants, and follow his inner racist as he chooses .
Rams owners have said the team is not for sale, but there's speculation they could sell with the right offer. Longtime owner Georgia Frontiere died earlier this year. Her children are majority owners.
I would love another reason to hate the Rams, please god let this happen.

I hope Limbaugh does buy into the Rams. May be then he'd have reason to get off the air and stop influencing all these folks to commit murder. Come on Rush, go for it and make America a safer place.
...and take Hannity and Savage with you...
Posted by: Duffman | July 29, 2008 at 04:32 PM
OK, that would make two days per year that I would have to dislike Rush (plus play-off hate where appropriate).
Other than that, cool. Pretty sure that if he buys in, they would not become the Tulsa Rams.

From the "Blackhawk Down" helicopter pilot who was shot down in Mogadishu on Husseins refusal to visit wounded troops in Germany.
"I've spent time at Ramstein recovering from wounds received in the service of my country, and I'm sure that Senator Obama could have made no better use of his time than to meet with our men and women in uniform there. That Barack Obama believes otherwise casts serious doubt on his judgment and calls into question his priorities."

I wonder if the German Press was not allowed to cover Husseins speech at the Victory Column in Tiergarten Park in Berin the other day if he would have still stood infront of those 200,000 fellow world citizens. Or would he have cancelled like he did to the wounded American Soldiers.
Posted by: nevets | July 29, 2008 at 09:37 PM
Part of the reason that Obama did not go to the hospital in Germany is that the far left minions who he gets a lot of $ from. He has no cajones when it gets down to the important things.

That's ok pfc steven, McSame was MIA during the last veterans bill vote. McCain has not delivered on his promise to veterans.
My dad was a vet, I cannot believe his memory is spit upon by this crazy old man from AZ who has clearly spent too much time in the sun.
McCain Opposes the 21st Century GI Bill Because It Is Too Generous. McCain did not vote on the GI Bill that will provide better educational opportunities to veterans of the Afghanistan and Iraq wars, paying full tuition at in-state schools and living expenses for those who have served at least three years since the 9/11 attacks. McCain said he opposes the bill because he thinks the generous benefits would “encourage more people to leave the military.” (S.Amdt. 4803 to H.R. 2642, Vote 137, 5/22/08; Chattanooga Times Free Press, 6/2/08; Boston Globe, 5/23/08; ABCNews.com, 5/26/08) hmm hmmm
McCain Voted Against Increased Funding for Veterans’ Health Care. Although McCain told voters at a campaign rally that improving veterans’ health care was his top domestic priority, he voted against increasing funding for veterans’ health care in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. (Greenville News, 12/12/2007; S.Amdt. 2745 to S.C.R. 95, Vote 40, 3/10/04; Senate S.C.R. 18, Vote 55, 3/16/05; S.Amdt. 3007 to S.C.R. 83, Vote 41, 3/14/06; H.R. 1591, Vote 126, 3/29/07)
Opposed an Assured Funding Stream for Veterans’ Health Care. McCain opposed providing an assured funding stream for veterans’ health care, taking into account annual changes in veterans’ population and inflation. (S.Amdt. 3141 to S.C.R. 83, Vote 63, 3/16/06)
McCain Voted Against Adding More Than $400 Million for Veterans’ Care. McCain was one of 13 Republicans to vote against providing an additional $430 million to the Department of Veterans Affairs for outpatient care and treatment for veterans. (S.Amdt. 3642 to H.R. 4939, Vote 98, 4/26/06)
Voted Against Establishing a $1 Billion Trust Fund for Military Health Facilities. McCain voted against establishing a $1 billion trust fund to improve military health facilities by refusing to repeal tax cuts for those making more than $1 million a year. (S.Amdt. 2735 to S.Amdt. 2707 to H.R. 4297, Vote 7, 2/2/06)
McCain Opposed $500 Million for Counseling Services for Veterans with Mental Disorders. McCain voted against an amendment to appropriate $500 million annually from 2006-2010 for counseling, mental health and rehabilitation services for veterans diagnosed with mental illness, posttraumatic stress disorder or substance abuse. (S. 2020, S.Amdt. 2634, Vote 343, 11/17/05)
This is shameful the way this shabby old dude portrays himself as a friend of vets.
Posted by: Coiler | July 29, 2008 at 09:54 PM
I would think that the Liberal Media would report this, so they could continue to help Obama.
Posted by: sparky | July 29, 2008 at 10:16 PM
Of course, there were plausible reasons why McCain did not vote for those bills and the Liberal media will never mention those reasons either. They are doing everything they can to get the Obamamessiah elected - as if that isn't obvious.
So, if he loses - does that mean the the MSM will collectively crawl under a rock or commit hari-kari ? That would be nice if they would do many of us the pleasure of disappearing.
Posted by: KS | July 29, 2008 at 10:28 PM
I would be interested in hearing those "plausible" reasons. So would a lot of veterans, I bet.
Posted by: sparky | July 29, 2008 at 10:47 PM
If Jim Healy approves this transaction, then Great God Amighty let it happen. If not, let Rush be compelled to be the place kicker, with Lucy Lawless holding the ball.
Posted by: rodman | July 29, 2008 at 11:14 PM
Well coiler, I am a vet of 20+ years and I have no problem with the way McCain voted in those situations. And if this new GI Bill is so good to Vets, why does one have to serve 3 years in the services After 9/11/01 to get those benefits? Shouldn't it be like the old GI Bill like your dad had in which there was no time limit. Or the next one for the Korean Vets where as long as they served 90 days. What happens to the guy who gets out before the 3 years. Does he get it? Questions you can not answer which McCain wanted in this new Bill but was turned away by the Libs. Remember the Minnisota National Guard. How many more situations like that must we go through. The new GI Bill is good, but could have been much better.
Posted by: nevets | July 30, 2008 at 12:01 AM
But one thing I do like about this new Bill, is that its separates the Retired pay and Veterans Disability pay. Next year I'll finally take the time and go to the VA and see if I am disabled enough to get maybe, and thats a maybe, a 20% rating. Thats good for $500.00 a month under this Bill.

The topic (lest you forget) is the possibility that Rush Limbaugh might buy into a professional football team. Who's 'hi-jacking' the blog now. All the teacher's pets. Now, STAY ON TOPIC; there'll be plenty of time for Dalai Obama talk later.
Posted by: Duffman | July 30, 2008 at 05:19 AM
Steven, how many right-wing emails attacking Obama do you get a day? Just curious.
Posted by: joanie | July 30, 2008 at 10:54 AM
joanie: are you listening to Dave Ross's 30th Anniversary Show with Ron Reagan, Jr? Just to stay on topic I will say that DR's Show is on at same time as Limbaugh's - but Oh SOOOOoooooo much better!
Posted by: Duffman | July 30, 2008 at 11:41 AM
No, I started listening to Ross' show and heard Harry Shearer and DeLackey who sounds the same. But, I get bored with celebratory shows.
So, now I'm listening to podcasts of Peter B.
Steven, you think these guys are trying to hide something? Since lying, war profiteering and killing are okay with you guys, do you suppose it is something obscene?
After all, lewd conduct seems to be the only thing you guys get embarrassed by...
"The Bush administration may have already hired an outside contractor to search individual computers for tens of thousands of missing e-mails that disappeared between 2003 and 2005.
But information technology experts conducting the search apparently have been told not to try and locate hundreds of thousands of missing e-mails from March 2003 to September 2003, a crucial timeframe that encompasses the start of the Iraq war, and the leak of covert CIA operative Valerie Plame Wilson."
Whatever it is, it's got to be tantamount to porn...right?

Everybody sing! :
Teacher's pet (pa dum pa dum pa dum)
I wanna be teacher's pet (pa dum pa dum)

(That's the lesson we're guessin' you're best in)
Mm, teacher's pride (pa dum pa dum)
I wanna be teacher's pride (pa dum pa dum)
I wanna be dated, paraded, the one most likely at your side
(Ya got a burnin' yearnin' to learn)
I wanna learn all your lips can teach me
One kiss will do at the start (are you really?)
I'm sure with a little homework
I'll graduate to your heart (to your heart)
Teacher's pet (pa dum pa dum), I wanna be teacher's pet (pa dum pa dum)
I wanna take home a diploma and show Ma that ya love me, too
(That ya love me, too)
So I can be teacher's pet long after school is through
(Oh, teacher's pet) Mm, mm
(You wanna be teacher's pet) Ah. ah
(You wanna be huddled and cuddled as close to him as you can get)
I wanna learn all your lips can teach me
One kiss will do at the start
I'm sure with a little homework
I'll graduate to your heart
Teacher's pet (you love the teacher), I wanna be teacher's pet (pa dum pa dum)
I wanna take home a diploma and show Ma that ya love me, too (Wow!)
So I can be teacher's pet (yeah!) long after school is through
(Teacher, teacher she loves you)

That the Doris Day version?
Posted by: joanie | July 30, 2008 at 12:26 PM
I liked the Parker Posey version.
Posted by: Coiler | July 30, 2008 at 12:41 PM
She never did that!
Although she is as into clothes as Doris was!
Now that brings back memories. Between Doris Day and Audrey Hepburn, my mom could not keep me away from clothing stores.
I still like Doris Day songs. You guys might like this site:

Duffman: "Commit murder?" You mean Rush is out there encouraging women to get abortions?
Posted by: Nan | July 30, 2008 at 01:35 PM
Parker Posey performed that in Waiting for Guffman....I never heard Doris do it..lol..
Posted by: sparky | July 30, 2008 at 01:56 PM
No, he's actually out there encouraging them to be killed after birth...I guess he's into the agony and the ecstasy of it. Sort of sadistic if you get my drift.
Posted by: joanie | July 30, 2008 at 01:57 PM
Nan..that was TIC because of the previous inference of him, Hannity and Savage contributing to the killing(s) at Tenn church.
Posted by: Duffman | July 30, 2008 at 02:00 PM
I can't remember if I saw Waiting for Guffman - somehow I think I did but it's all faded away.
About the only thing I know of Posey is that she was a guest judge on Project Runway.
Doris Day was quite a big band singer before movies but she did sing the title song to Teacher's Pet (I think that was the name of it) in which she starred with Clark Gable. I think it was 50s. No, I didn't see it in the theatre.
I am a drama major - remember? Most of my knowledge is older at this point. Not much into TV, movies, stage, music even anymore. I like quiet time and good book or good talk radio. Hmm, guess I sorta like blogging, too.

And that is not an opportunity to rip my head off there joanie or coiler.
Posted by: chuck | July 30, 2008 at 02:35 PM
You can't cut and paste either?
Oh chuck. You're not ready for the twenty-first century, dear.
I remember her Sentimental Journey. Nice. And Hey There. Now you've got me going. I have several albums. I really liked her songs. To me, Karen Carpenter was the Doris Day of the sevenies and eighties. (Do I have that right??) They had similar styles.
When I was a kid, I listened to all kinds of music. I didn't really get into rock and roll until my teens. And that was peer pressure. Of course, I loved it too.
Posted by: joanie | July 30, 2008 at 02:55 PM
IMO Doris Day was fun to watch sing; whereas Karen Carpenter was fun to hear sing...but yes similar styles in that they both had unusually soft pacifying voices.

Oh, precious, chuck. Watch it Sparky and Coiler:

Clark Gable looks too old to be in the 3rd grade. maybe he's from Grays Harbor or Forks?
Posted by: Coiler | July 30, 2008 at 03:20 PM
Every time I see Clark Gable now, all I can think of is false teeth.
Posted by: joanie | July 30, 2008 at 03:21 PM
Yeah, I heard he had halitosis.
Posted by: coiler for dental hygene | July 30, 2008 at 03:27 PM
Oh yes, Karen Carpenter was one of my teen-age crushes. She broke my heart when she taught me about eating disorders. Shame that one. She had the talent to last a life time.
Cut and paste? I ate the paste. Had kind of a minty taste ti it if I remember correctly.
WE don't play the Rams until the middle of December, at home. Maybe the Rams will be part of the EIB Network. LOL

sorry, I have never been a big Doris Day fan. She has a doggy/owner motel near SanFrancisco and charges almost $300 a night.
Posted by: sparky | July 30, 2008 at 03:43 PM
That's okay, Sparky. I'll bet her clientèle can afford it.
She's done a lot of good things for animals.
I was watching the Fifth Estate on Candadian TV last week and they did a show on animals in entertainment.
The AHA isn't very attentive really. It was brutal to watch.
Did I post this already? I did to someone. Oh dear.
Anyway, in Heavens Gate they intentionally blew up a horse. And the way they treat chimps even now and dispose of them should be a crime.
Human beans never learn, do they?
