Did you hear the boo's when Hillary showed she didn't have the mettle to lead this country and said to support Hussein. Sorry Duff. Maybe 2012 she will find her courage again.

joanie hussein

This is our year, Michael. This country has had it with lies, deceit, fraud, recklessness, profiteering, injustice and sheep who veer over every cliff they come to.

Al is a good person. He will win. Obama will win. This country will win again.

In spite of those who try to obstruct all that is good. The force is with us.

Gay Gary

In spite of those who try to obstruct all that is good. The force is with us.

With due respect, Gay-G says don't count on it!

As a great writer said:

"What if you get a majority, a sweeping majority on election day. What then? When you reach up with your vaunted, strong hands to seize our palaces and our purpled ease then we will show you what true strength is ... in roar of shell and shrapnel and whine of machine guns will our answer be couched. We will crush you people under our iron heel and we will walk upon your faces."

joanie hussein

Gigi, you're a tease. Careful that you aren't thought of as just a tease...

You guys should be listening to Vincent Bugliosi on Peter B's show on KPTK right now.

joanie hussein

Charles Jaco on KPTK right now! I loved Jaco when he was on KIRO! Working now in St. Louis.

PugetSound

Franken? Isn't that the comedian who has the tax problems? Or was that Olberman?
Damn, why don't they like to pay the taxes that they are for?
Oh well, I am sure some accountant will be taking the pipe for it.

sparky

Somewhere, the Radio Fertilizer is crying into his pillow.

joanie hussein

It's pretty early but on My DD there's a map showing a tentative 311 electoral votes for Obama and 227 for McCain.
Check it out.

PugetSound

Radio Equilizer you mean.
The fellow is crying from laughing so hard.
He has been spot on since the begining of the Air America Fiasco -name an instance in which he was wrong- and continues to justify the support and respect that Blam gives him as an authoritative source.

willamette

Too bad he can't make a living anymore, perhaps it was his whiny voice

sparky

Oh Putsie, make me. All your rules about when and where and why and how I have to post on here are making me laugh. Believe it or not, we all get to have an opinion around here, and if you don't agree with it, so be it.

DT

Al Franken is a fine entertainer who has donated his time and talents to the troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. Don't know too many liberals who have done that lately. I admire the guy and wish him well in the election. Minnesota could do worse, actually they have with Coleman and Ventura.

DT

The above post was not posted by me.

DT

Oh, and know it's not technically called a post, so calm down, grammar nazis.

PugetSound

Oh Sparky
Nice straw argument.
And so I expressed my opinion and you get your panties in a wad. Just too funny.
Isn't this the point where you threaten to
1) complain to the webmaster that people are disagreeing with you
2) throw out the obligatory circle jerk comment

PugetSound

Just two quick examples of Sparky's genuine lack of intellectual curiosity for a 'teacher:'

1) Sparky still clinging to the 74 cents an hour myth on women vs men pay. Still can't be bothered to acknowledge that she was out to lunch. (I guess it is more satisfying to be a 'victim' and remain ignorant.)
2) Radio Equilizer continues to be correct and Sparky continues to be wrong. For a 'teacher' Sparky has a curious inability to want to get it right.

You would think that if you were wrong that being honest enough to acknowledge it would be a point of honor rather than going into avoidance.
Oh well. Although we are all anonymous on this board our real personalities do come out over time.

sparky

And, thus, Putsie, prime examples of what I am talking about. You sure have a lot of rules on here for us, lists of them! And because I don't agree with you, I'm "wrong" and I am using a "straw argument" and "avoidance." I am being a "victim"! I'm "dishonest" and let's not forget the "skeddale" you assign to both Joanie and me.
You think it is a "point of honor" to anonymously "win" an argument on a blog? If I don't "battle it out" on Sound Politics I am a coward!! And,(gasp!) worst of all, Im a "teacher"..with quotation marks, no less. Do you honestly think I am feeling deep remorse at your profound disappointment?

You and I disagree on most things. Period. Why not just acknowledge that gracefully, like chucks does? chucks and I have great discussions, and not once has he found it necessary to call me a name, or proclaim me as "ignorant" because we have opposite opinions.
Sorry to frustrate you, but I plan on continuing to post when, where and about what I find fun and interesting. And sometimes I post my opinion. You are welcome to disagree.

Tommy008

Obama and his slick operatives and minions of fools really think they're cute and special after out internetting and outtexting the Clinton campaign with a tech savvy slicksters campaign based not on strength but cleverness (their Idaho caucus win got them more delegates than Clinton's New Jersey win got her) and sliming Bill Clinton as a racist and attempting to do the same to Hillary with trinity United pulpit trolls. The bad news for these full of themselves, arrogant youngsters is that none of their litle slick strategy will work in November against McCain. There are no small state caucuses where they can bully and outorganize their way into nearly all of their electoral votes. There are no caucuses period. When they lose the big states that they cannot win this time the electoral vote disparity will be brutally punishing for him Obama could possibly have a chance with Hillary as veep but he's too arrogant and p-whipped by Michelle to pick her. Prepare for a huge loss you fools.

carlos

pussy-whipped? Oh, man, you da man.

Tommy008

I'm not "da man" but I would never mary a controlling, hateful b liek Michelle Obama, i'll guarantee you that much. You have to be pussy-whipped to marry a sassy, meanspirited b-word like her. He didn't have the nerve to stand up to Rev. Wright and i guarantee you he doesn't have the nerve to stand up to her when she puts her foot down about Hillary coming on the ticket.

J.Hova

I recall Obama denouncing the good Rev and also ending his relationship with that church. Is he now supposed to kneel down in front of whitey and say "yassir massah, I'm not pussy whipped", I can't wait for McCain to apologize to Rev.Hagee for calling his wife a C***

Tommy008

Obama finally denounced Wright when it was politically untenable not to do so and even then, in true narcissistic fashion, it was only after Wright dared to attack the great Obama, as being merely a "politician". Integrity and character is what you do when no ne is looking. When I say he didn't stand up to Wright I mean 9 years ago, 3 years ago 5 years ago or even two years ago, when he wasn't in the public spotlight and was sitting in the pews od Trinity United with his two daughters listening to Wright spew his racist venom from the pupit .

J.Hova

oh ok, thank gawd, I thought you were talking about current affairs, not something that happened 9 years ago when Barack should of known he was going to run for president in 2008 and had the audacity to just sit there and not cover his daughters ears up in church when he could of said, "Hey goddmmit! I'm going to run for president after my Illinois senate run and my US senate run and could you please tone down the urban anger that most activist churches have preached about for 50 years, not like those respectable, white Evangelical churches who tell people who to vote for and instead, just sing some gospel stuff and dance around like most uninformed white people think we do when they don't have the FBI in here snooping around on us.

Tommy008

Another rationalization and myth. Obama's church is an anomaly among black churches, as has been testified to by plenty of black preachers and other blacks since Wright surfaced in the media. Trinity United s not the typical black church in America- it's a hateful, extreme excepton. Oprah got fed up and resigned from it after a couple years of Wright's foul sermons, which prompted the Reverend and others there to take a lot of cheapshots at her. Apparently Oprah has more nerve than Barack Nice try, though.

Tommy008

Also, I don't get your logic with your sarcastic " I MIGHT RUN FOR RPRESIDENT IN 08, SO COULD YOU TONE DOWN" crapola. Why would his future presidential ambitions have ANTHING to do with not tolerating a demogogic preacher shouting at your daughters and the rest of the church with hateful, unfair race-baiting and bgoted remarks designed to manipulate tHe basest emotions of the pArishioners. Just being a DECENT human being who believed in being a bigger person than that, WHO WAS SETTING AN EXAMPLE FOR HIS DAUGHTERS would be justificaton enough FOR bARACK to step up to Wright and call him out on his crap. OF COURSE Obama wasn't a bigger person than Wright, he OBVIOUSLY felt comfortable wallowing down there in thst base, racist slop with his buddy Jeremiah.

Tommy008

This guy can't even be a moral leader in his own church and he wants us to elect him the leader of the whole country.

joanie hussein

Tommie, many good people have supported Wright and said that his rhetoric wasn't always the kind of speech your holding against him now. You are just as hate-filled and targeted in your comments and accusations as you are accusing him of being. To follow your example of what Barack should have done, we'd should all(including your friends on the right) be actively holding you accountable for the same crap.

Or is this another example of the "notorious" double-standard on the right?

Tommy008

it's NOT the same crap, you politically correct ass. aNYONE WHO CRITICIZES a black man is being a racist in your sick, nonthinking leftist world. I am critcizing him over the content of his character, i believe he is a terrible choice for president, an anti-white racially divisive throwback candidate, not a "beyond race" candidate as his con was in the beginning before we saw the bait and switch. I'm actively posting against him just as you do against McCain with your childish little names. i dislike obama you dislike mccain. i dont hate him for being black i hate him for being a racially divisive phony.get tHat througH your thick head YOU STALINIST ASS. YEA THAT'S RIGHT- YOU WILL NO LONGER CALL ME A RACIST, AN IDIOT OR WHATEVER WITHOUT AN EQUAL ATTACK BACK. GET USED TO IT, JOKER.

joanie

YOU'RE A RACIST!

Get it, Tommie?

sparky

I think Tommy just said you have a nice ass, joanie. Or at least a politically correct one. How does one's ass become correct? Do you watch those Buns o'Steel videos?

JHova, take this quote from Joanie the other day

"He's been planning since college for this. He started with the first contact he made out of law school."

Kind of makes your "he didn't know he was going to run for President" argument about calling out Rev. Wright on his racist rants right out the door huh. Well, that is if you beleive what Randi said, cause that is where Joanie gets all her info.

J.Hova

oh, ok. So he's been planning for what out of college? His first contact?

nevets

I see you know alot about your HOPE JHova.

J.Hova

We know you have none...it must suck to be you.

joanie hussein

No, Steven, I didn't get it from Randi. What is this obsession you have with her? You should try to get over it.

I got that information from the very long article run by the NY Times on Obama. They ran a lengthy (magazine maybe) article on all the candidates.

I wonder where you get your information? You never cite sources. You just rant on.

And as for his knowing or not knowing he was going to run for President, none of us knows that for sure.

Also, as I said earlier, only to the obsessive haters on the right do Wright's words represent everything the man ever said or did. He obviously gave Obama a mentorship that might have helped you be a better person had you had his influence.

Of course, neither you nor Tommy ever say anything hateful. And you're two white guys who've had the benefit of being white in a white society your whole lives.

I think there's a bit of jealousy on your side. Just a tad bit of jealousy?

If I had been black at any time in the last hundred years, I don't think I'd have very high regard for the people that kept me from living where I wanted to, going to the school I chose, and working at a job that had some advancement potential.

But everything I've said requires an ability to think critically and comprehensively. Just like chucks, you guys are happy to be simple thinkers who judge everything in a black and white way. Might makes right; anybody can do it if they work hard; everybody is born with the same chance in life.

That's not true on its face. Yet, you guys will go to your graves harping and complaining otherwise.

Sparky still tries to talk to you. I've given up. I get some satisfaction throwing the same crap back at you that you've been throwing at the left since this campaign started.

And, Klueless, a very small minority of scientists continue to deny global warming or man's part in causing it. You look foolish in your continued denial of it.

I've had a great evening. I'm energized. And I'm telling you what I think. So go pout now.

rozskat

What proof to Tommy008 claim that Senator Obama is divisive and anti-white? Do not forget the Illinois senator is half-white. Is he is not white enough? On the other hand, many of the blacks in the early days of his campaign said he was not black enough. As for his wife, is there fear of an intelligent woman who wields power? Does respect and love for wife and treating her as an equal signify henpecked? I recall Senator McCain married a Busch Brewery heir with a prenuptial agreement. Would that make the good senator from Arizona henpecked?

Most whites in this country never experienced what minorities faced and find it difficult to swallow Reverend Wright’s sermon. I do not agree wholly with the contents but I can sympathize with some of the anger he expressed. Do you really think Oprah quit that church because she did not agree with Reverend Wright? I wonder if it was moral intentions or visions of dollar signs from hordes of white women, worshipping at her feet more influential in her decision.

The white dominated Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at one time refused people of color (especially black and brown skin) in their membership. They practiced and justified racism as well as anti-Semitism. They lay claim to have changed but show me a person of color in the hierarchy of the Mormon Church. The small town of Iosepa in western Utah is a classic example of white Mormon treatment of Polynesians. I am sure when god spoke to his chosen Mormons at Salt Lake City in 1978, approved to allow African-Americans and people of color into the priesthood. The vision by Spencer Kimball was more like dollar signs evaporating because many California schools were preparing a boycott and willing to forfeit games played with BYU.

Does this automatically make Mitt Romney a racist because of his Mormon faith? Could a Catholic who attends Latin Mass be anti-Semitic? Do all evangelicals who talk about feeling “god’s love” loathe gays and lesbians? Is my Muslim neighbor a terrorist and bent on killing infidels? One thing Reverend Wright accomplished was to dispel unfounded rumors that Senator Obama was a Muslim.

Religious affiliation should never be a litmus test for the presidency or any political office. I am voting for the candidate. Their position and solution on issues, not their minister or whether he/she believes in god or not. There are much more important issues facing this country or the locality I live in rather than what church the candidate goes to or what his/her preacher said.

As for the electability of John McCain, if his speech last Tuesday night was any indication, it is going to be a long hot summer for the conservatives and Republicans.

nevets

Joanie, what do you mean I don't cite sources. I used you as my source. Are you saying you are not credible.

And what with Randi, didn't you bring her up the other day about the vet and his VA benefit. You didn't get the whole story from her there did you. Thought you had a big one to throw in my face but it backfired when I gave you the proper facts.

And all you do with your "if I was black" rant just proves my Hussein's use of a subliminal message in his "CHANGE" sign.

Being sympathetic is not the answer to picking this countrys leader for the next 4 years. We need someone who has experience. Something your Hussein lacks.

sparky

Steven, you mean "CHA" don't you?

Did you read what rozskat wrote?

coiler

Yes, we need someone like McShit,

The wife U.S. Republican John McCain callously left behind

sparky

By the way...with 8 years as a State Legislator and 4 years as a US Senator, Obama has more experience (12 years in elected office) than Bush Jr. (6 years as governor), Ronald Regan(8 years Governor of California), Dwight Eisenhower (No elected experience), Franklin Roosevelt (3 years State Senator, 4 years Governor of NY),Woodrow Wilson( 4 years Governor of New Jersey), Herbert Hoover (No elected experience), William Howard Taft, (No elected experience) and many others, including Abraham Lincoln, who had 2 years of experience in Congress, yet he led the country through the Civil War.

coiler

Yes, we don't need someone who says "I don't recall" when being questioned like Reagan did.

rozskat

Nevets, what kind of experience do you require? Last presidents with “experience” were Johnson, Nixon, and Ford. Look at what those three got us. You know as well as I that advisors surround presidents and they are usually the ones who can make or break the commander in chief.

Tommy008

the Obamanuts on htis blog hear Rev Wright'S HATRED FOR WHITES AND aMERICA, mICHELLE'S HATRED FOR HER COUNTRY AND WHITES and busily go into rationalization mode, trying to trivialize and sanitize some very disturbing speeches. Michelle has obviously taken Wright's messages to heart and a reasonable person can conclude that Obama very likely agrees with his wife but political considerations make him shy about public outing of his views. The average non-ideologue non-leftist voter does not run these comments through a rationalization macine and does not make the illogical leap that Obama doesn't share these views, after accepting them in his church for twenty years. The average voter is appalled by these speeches. these verbal hatefests from the pulpit and podium don't reflect a realistic view of the present day country that has largely rejected racism for many years already. It's simply a distorted, unfair and unappreciative portrayal. Even most blacks know that, altough self-hating white OBAMANUTS DON'T.

coiler

That's all you have, that they allegedly hate whites? Let's talk about McCain and his lack of support for the recent GI Bill vote in the senate. I think McCain hates this country and our veterans.

nevets

Elected Service. Critical thinking there Sparky. Critical thinking indeed.
