As long as it's blather it's in your mandate to cover it.

aritstdogboy

Yes, Especially when Tucker Carlson returns to MSNBC after his lobotomy surgery. He's the Richie Sexson of cable news. They must be paying him millions to sit home sorting his bow ties. It looks like he's doing remotes from his garage when Pat "bone crusher" Buchannan hemorrhoids flair up and they need some right wing poppycock filler material. Then they realize why they canceled his show in the first place and it's back in the flat.

Your assignment Mr Blather, if your wish to accept it is...We must know everything about Mika Brzezinsk. I'm weirdly and oppositely attracted by her subtle gender bias persona....and faux girl friend palsywalsy interplay with hard ass wing nut morning Joe Scarborough. I need to know what makes her tick.

sparky

Yes, please.

I hope you DO IT LIVE!!

DT

You shouldn't be asking others what path to take. Follow your passion.

Gay Gary

Does Kirby Wilbur run with the most diverse crowd of people of anyone in America?

After previous shows where he prefaces some controversial statement about Muslims with "I know Muslims, I have Muslim friends," or about gays with "I know gay people, I have gay friends," or about atheists with "I know atheists, I have atheist friends," today it was "I know bi-polar people, I have bi-polar friends" ... my question: has anyone who's seen Kirby Wilbur lately know if he really has rainbows shooting out of every orifice like it sounds? That's something I would like to see.

joanie hussein

Even though I don't watch cable news much, I love to read all about media. Media is your beat, Michael. Keep it up.

And start talking more KPTK. Do you listen much?

Peter B. on weekends is pretty good.

Dave

Ever since I got a Hi-Def TV, I've stopped watching cable news. Why don't they broadcast in HD?

DT

Blatherwatch coverage of cable TV news? I notice a lot of reprinting of what other blogs have to say concerning cable TV news, but I don't notice a lot of direct coverage of cable TV new from Blatherwatch.

If you're going to cover it, do it yourself. Stop scanning your favorite blogs for material.

I think it's an area that's already saturated. Stick to local talk radio.

sparky

You sure are Mr. Bossy Britches today, DT.

DT

My best advice for Michael is to just do what he wants to do, and not ask us. Doing what others want won't make him happy. If he does what he enjoys, success will follow. But as long as he's asking, I'll give my opinion. Stick to local talk radio.

nevets

Isn't that what Stepanie Miller is for. To tell us what the right (especially O'reily) was talking about. I think it would just be redundant.

Brian

No Stephanie Miller is for making old-man jokes about John McCain. That's all I ever hear from her show, what a POS. I listen every day on the way to work and have never heard anything that even remotely resembles intelligent talk about issues. I'm about to give up on "progressive talk", what a joke.

RedmondDem

You turn to a comedy show to hear "intelligent talk on the issues"?

Ok then.

fred owens

It's good to ask other people how to proceed. Why should you decide everything yourself?

I'm beginning to think that Keith Oberman is a dog, but I'm starting to like Chris Matthews again.

Also, with Hillary Clinton gone, I predict that Rush Limbaugh will wither and die --- what a blessing

Brian

Oh, it's a comedy?
I really had no idea.
Comedies usually make me laugh not cringe.

rozskat

Kirby is hanging on to the last thread of his career. I have doubts about his claim to having diverse friends. Look at what he stands for and what he says about them. Kirby is similar to someone who makes a bigoted comment and then tries cover their prejudices by saying “well some of my best friends are….:”

A few years back I stumbled into an Everett Aqua Sox game. I saw festivities going on and was curious to what was happening at Memorial Stadium. Why it was KVI Day! There was good old Kirby on stage talking about the decline of Europe, decadence of the Europeans and his typical America first speeches. He tried to sound like Reagan rehashing myths and fantasies that conservative America has about itself but in reality never existed. I thought he was running for political office. Aside from a few Hispanics doing menial chores at the stadium, it looked as if my kids and I were the only minorities there. Not much rainbow in the crowd that day.

As for cable TV News, it is Jon Stewart, Steven Colbert, Anderson Cooper and Keith Olberman for me. When I am at sea, the only channel the satellite system picks up is Fox News. Fox News is video waterboarding with Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity as master torturers while Alan Colmes is the Uncle Tom of liberals. It never fails that during a group discussion, Fox set planners manage to place two beautiful long legged mini-skirted females at each end of the horseshoe layout as they discuss the day’s events on subjects such as who has a better sex life…Republicans or Democrats? It is starting to look as if Fox News is a parody of the Daily Show. Thank heavens for the ON/OFF button and stack of books I bring with me.

Tucker Carlson? I was hoping Maher would have strangled him with that bow tie. While a guest on Real Time, Carlson would not give anyone a chance to respond with constant interruptions and same old conservative clichés with no new ideas or solutions. To think, Tucker is a McCain Republican. How fitting!

I predict this song will hit the charts this fall.

And if Hussein wins in the fall, this song will become our new national anthem.

DT says "My best advice for Michael is to just do what he wants to do, and not ask us. Doing what others want won't make him happy."

You're a raging hypocrite. Every one of your pointless posts revolves around making this blog what you think it should be.

nevets

Just kidding on that last song replacing the National Anthem. There is no way even the libs like Pelosi and Reid would let that happen right? Right? Right?

sparky

Hey Steven, last week you started a new anagram for "CHANGE" but you only got to CHA.
Wha' happened?

Fremont

Aw, jeez, Dog, you made me google Richie Sexson...(hilarious analogy, BTW)

Nice tunes, Sieve...nice.

Regardless of sources, we will be spared any duplication of cable news coverage by Bla"M's rapier-edged reporting. Many people actually watch, not just hear, the evening news on cable, so don't exclude it. (Three airings of "Countdown" per night is overkill, however.)

This is kinda funny http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Renner. I'm not sure if I'm reading it correctly but it looks like Jeff Renner wrote his own Wikipedia entry and within four minutes some Wikipedia police user questioned his notability and tagged the article for deletion.

chucks

Forty years ago, tonight, some Jew hating Palestinian cock sucker ripped the heart out of our nation. The first Islamic act of terror against us.
Sirhan Sirhan whiles away his time in a California prison. Thank you liberal-pergressive judges. He should be dead and we should be pissing on his grave tonight.
I just thought folks should remember.

sparky

Yes chucks, it was an awful day. I was with my parents on a fishing trip in eastern oregon when we heard. I was a kid but I remember the look that passed between my parents.
I doubt his stay in prison is pleasant, however.

PugetSound

Chucks
I was 5 and recall hearing my mother cry when she found out from the neighbor.

chucks

Good grief, I almost forgot. Not only is it a day to remember the murder of what might have been a great President, it is also the anniversary of the passing of a great President. Ronald W Reagan.

nevets

Sparky, thats no anagram, thats the hidden subliminal message Hussein has used to get people to believe he is their HOPE.

sparky

But you didnt finish the CHA in your super secret message. What does NGE stand for?

joanie hussein

Hard to share a memory with someone who so blatantly disdains everything for which Bobby stood.

Sorry, chucks.

Change, Steven? Didn't you hear McBush's speech yesterday? I guess the "change" meme even works on McBushes.

DT

But Chucks, you have to compassion for Sirhan Sirhan. He probably was a "victim of mental illness" just like the Jewish Center shooter Naveed Haq.

June

Is Jeff Renner gay? it doesn't matter; I just wondered. And didn't KING5 fire him for a while and Jeff's fans made such a fuss they brought him back?

sparky

Jeff Renner has a wife and kids.

chucks

Speaking of moronic. Well, maybe we were not speaking of moronic joanie. I just thought of your post above and equated it with moronic.
Do you really equate the Dimocratic party of today with that which it was forty years ago? It is in fact not the same and you madame are an idiot to think so.

chucks

DT
I could kill Sirhan Sirhan with my bare hands or put a bullet between his eyes and not lose a moments sleep. Hell, I might even sleep better knowing I sent him to meet his 72 virgin Janet Reno's in hell.

PugetSound

Not to worry, after Joanie's foolish emissions you Chucks act as the Carbon Offset (reality) to negate her talking points.
Joanie has to see all through the political prism. If it isn't Randi Approved or Malloy inspired it must be false. When asked to explain, the poor thing can only do one thing: Skedaddle.

She still won't take the Duffman Challenge.

PugetSound

Nice bit of political symmetry.
With the nomination of Barrack and the close run by Hillary on the other side of the Karma equation you have Senator 'Sheets' Byrd the former Klansman with the propensity for racial insults even today AND Senator Ted 'Flipper' Kennedy well known for his work on behalf of women in distress.
And yet you have some people that rank on McCain for his admittedly horrid remark about Chelsea back in 96 and bring it up as a 'reason' not to vote for McCain. Abysmal, but pales in comparison to the acts of Sheets and Flipper who proudly wave the Democratic Party Banner.
So you Go Obama! and sincere congrats to Hillary for the great effort in 08.
And to Sheets and Flipper, given their despicable past acts let's hope they can make the appropriate amends before they leave us.

PugetSound

Hey Gay Gary
Seems like everyone wants to know who is gay. Every time someone becomes noted one of the questions becomes 'Is he Gay or is she a Lesbian?'
Kind of funny.
Maybe it is a bass=akward compliment! So maybe we are making progress. Of course, every time I think we make progress something ridiculous like the issue of not allowing women to kiss at the ballpark comes up at SafeCo Field.

rozskat

Chucks- Sirhan Sirhan is not a Muslim and had no connections with terror groups. Born a Palestinian does not automatically constitute being a Muslim.

DT

Many Palestinian children, whether they are Muslim or not, are taught that Jews are evil. They are taught hate and intolerance from an early age. Sirhan Sirhan was a Jew-hating terrorist. So is Naveed Haq.

DT

And I have noticed a trend, or maybe it's a strategy, that when Muslims in America who commit hate crimes against Jews, it's spun as being just a mentally ill person who committed a crime, but they didn't really know what they were doing, and it wasn't a hate crime. But when someone commits a targeted crime against Muslims, it's ALWAYS a hate crime. Double standard?

chucks

Yes rozskat
Rumors run from Seventh Day to Amish etc. Who knows the real truth?
Do you believe what he says? I don't.

Fremont

"Forty years ago, tonight, some Jew hating Palestinian cock sucker ripped the heart out of our nation. The first Islamic act of terror against us."

Brilliant deductive, (racist) reasoning there, Chux. 1) Sirhan was born in Jerusalem. 2) Most Palestinians are Muslims. 3) Therefore, the assassination was an "Islamic act of terror." Unfortunately, your cute little , syllogism ignores the facts: Sirhan was never a Muslim. He was raised in the Maronite church and, as an adult, "he made several religious conversions, joining Baptist and Seventh-day Adventist churches, and dabbled in the occult." So, Chux, though his act of terrorism was allegedly to protest RFK's support of Israel in the Arab-Jewish wars, it was not an act of "Islamic terrorism".

I see that I'm repeating Rozskat..
You're outnumbered, Chux.

FREMONT

Sorry again for the ditto...I don't understand why that is happening. I enter the code letters, as always, and I'm presented with a second set of letters. I thought the second set meant that I had mistyped the first set, but now, I'm posting in duplicate...yikes! It's baffling!!

Aaa-a-r-r-gh!!!

chucks

That's OK Fremont, i am always outnumbered 'round these parts.
I don't buy wiki and I don't believe sirhan. A belief I have held for many years.
Cops I worked with in the early seventy's that had investigated sirhan first introduced me to this theory. I have no proof, but hey, I need no proof. I am not on his jury. It is interesting that mooseslimes are his protectors in prison.

chucks

That's funny Fremont. We know that it is not deliberate.
