Barack Obama is putting the heat on Rush Limbaugh and CNN's Lou Dobbs for fanning the flames of hate crimes against Latinos.
He told a crowd at a fundraiser in South Florida Thursday: “A certain segment has basically been feeding a kind of xenophobia. There’s a reason why hate crimes against Hispanic people doubled last year,” Obama said. “If you have people like Lou Dobbs and Rush Limbaugh ginning things up, it’s not surprising that would happen.”
Comedian Limbaugh, feigning hurt, but loving the mention, said Friday, "I actually don't believe this. Barack Obama, in my own state, raising money for his presidential campaign called me xenophobic at a fundraiser," Limbaugh said. "I thought this guy was the unity candidate? Calling me a Xenophobe? Responsible for hate crimes? My feelings are hurt here."
Barack has work to do in the Hispanic community; Hillary Clinton and John McCain have made impressive inroads in the Spanish-speaking community.
But immigration is not expected to be much of an issue in the Fall election. All three candidates supported the Comprehensive Immigration Bill last Spring that talk radio prides itself on harpooning. It turned out to be only radio-driven astroturf that had only the amplified voice of the radio and cable news blabbermeisters who scared hell out of the politicians.
"As a talk radio topic, immigration has breadth and width," said Political Science professor Edgar "Choch" Manaña, of Stanford's prestigious Emesis Institute, "but as for traction with the American voters, it's way down there below the economy, the Iraq War, gas prices, and the thread count in Barack Obama's bed sheets."
"I'm confident that if the Latino community knows me well," Obama said, "they know my values, they know my stance on the issues, then they will know no one will fight more for things that matter to them."
Limbaugh is well-known as a slap-happy shit-disturber for conservative causes as well as a self-promoter for his talk show which is the highest rated in the country.
Last March, Dobbs was called "shameful" and a "hatemonger" by Fox News' Puerto Rican-in-Residence, Geraldo Rivera. "I would not shake his hand because this is a man that's done more damage to the cause of sensibile, comprehensive reform than anyone with a microphone," Geraldo said in a rare comment that only mentioned his own self once.
Neither entertainer -- Big Pants or Dobbs -- has measurable credibility with the voting public at large.
Too much demagoguery for Obama. I respectfully disagree with his comments and also those of Geraldo Rivera. Interesting that the wife of Lou Dobbs is Hispanic.

Thanks for the FBI stats, Sieve...(are you an esteemed alumnus of Stanford's Emesis Institute?)
Yeah, a cursory look at the last two completed years doesn't show a doubling of hate crimes against Hispanics, but those measure are complicated by other variables, including the words themselves.
Though federal law mandates collection of hate crime statistics, there is no current United States federal law stating that crimes committed on the basis of sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, and disability are prosecutable as hate crimes. Hopefully, that will be among the changes Obama will bring.

Latino? I see no mention of Obama using the term Latino. Again, where is he getting his numbers? Randi? Malloy? maybe just pulling it out his lying stinking subliminal message brain-washing ass.

You shouldn't judge others by your self, Steven.

Obama said the other day:
"I had an uncle who was part of the first American troops to go into Auschwitz and liberate the concentration camp."
The big question now should be what was Obamas uncle doing with the Red Army, who by the way, liberated Auschwitz. Maybe this is where he gets his commie views.

Yeah...steven I'm a bit concerned 'bout that; since soon I believe Sen Obama will be our new POTUS.
Then we rely on him, merci, joanie, sparks, re-coil, fremont, red-d and all other like-supporters herein to get us out of Iraq and to protect us from future attack. Let us see how fast we get out of Iraq and under what conditions and let us see how safe this Country is maintained. I had no doubt Hillary could do it; but I'm now having Obama-doubts.

George W. Bush had better stop committing hate crimes.
