Amy Alpine!! Are you still into ropes???

Mike the Driver

So the Dori bashers are out again. but I agree with some of the comments, like when he is nice to the Politicians on air then bashes them after or before they came on the show.

Regarding his "Pimping" on air, hell all of you would jump at the chance to "pimp" for something free, like driving a Jaguar, endorsing a Mortgage Company, Window company et al.

Dori got a Jaguar... He made out better than Warren Moon who was endorsing a Chevy Dealer in Burien.... and got caught driving with a suspended license... you don't hear Warren endorsing their cars anymore on KJR either, just "Softy".

and TBTL STILL SUCKS, SUCKS, SUCKS..... since that show has been on KIRO I rarely listed to KIRO anymore, and that includes Dave Ross and Dori. I might catch Dave's Reross show at nite, but RARELY tune in KIRO at nite when I'm driving... if I do, its for the news at top of the hour and nothing more

BTW I see the ratings for Seattle came out again and KIRO is ahead of KOMO radio.

Anyone know where we can find the ratings for the hourly periods like 9 to noon and noon to 3 and 3 to 6 and 7 to 10? I'd be real interested to see if TBTL is really doing better than other shows.
Luke YOU SUCK and JEN swallows.

TBTL is only the second gayest show on KIRO. The Dori Monson Show is the gayest show on KIRO. Monson sounds effeminate and girly, despite his self-delusions of a "hail fellow well met"macho jock type. Anyway who the hell is he to imply that Burbank is gay. Burbank is a girlyman in my opinion, who needs to start talking like a grownup, instead of a skateboarder/valleygirl(all the 'likes' stil in your speech patterns when you're well over 25 is not good), but I take him at his implied word to be a hetero, since he often mentions ex-wife and girlfriend. And as wimpy a voice as he has, he does at least sound like a grown man- sadly, the same cannot be said for Dori. How would Monson like it if Burbank said that Monson's show was "so gay"? It's our place on Blatheratch to call either of them names, but not Monson's place to insult another KIRO host. Monson is a petty backstabbing butthead to his guests, and the people who've had him on as a guest. The local twerp was lucky enough to be on Joe Scarborough on MSNBC and Nancy Grace on CNN in recent times, and he trashed them both the day after being on their shows. He even had one of his assistants make up a meanspirited tape of soundbites, which made fun of Nancy Grace's voice and speech. What guest wants to be attacked behind his back, by our local pissant poltroon on the radio, after appearing on his show?

Duffman

Wouldn't it be something if T008 was actually Dori?

Sure thing Duff!
Dave Ross tracked down NO ONE! The following is from the NYT;
Ohio Hospital Contests a Story Clinton Tells
By DEBORAH SONTAG
Over the last five weeks, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York has featured in her campaign stump speeches the story of a health care horror: an uninsured pregnant woman who lost her baby and died herself after being denied care by an Ohio hospital because she could not come up with a $100 fee.

The woman, Trina Bachtel, did die last August, two weeks after her baby boy was stillborn at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, Ohio. But hospital administrators said Friday that Ms. Bachtel was under the care of an obstetrics practice affiliated with the hospital, that she was never refused treatment and that she was, in fact, insured.

“We implore the Clinton campaign to immediately desist from repeating this story,” said Rick Castrop, chief executive officer of the O’Bleness Health System.

Linda M. Weiss, a spokeswoman for the not-for-profit hospital, said the Clinton campaign had never contacted the hospital to check the accuracy of the story, which Mrs. Clinton had first heard from a Meigs County, Ohio, sheriff’s deputy in late February.

A Clinton spokesman, Mo Elleithee, said candidates would frequently retell stories relayed to them, vetting them when possible. “In this case, we did try but were not able to fully vet it,” Mr. Elleithee said. “If the hospital claims it did not happen that way, we respect that.”

AuthenticAndrew

I don't realy care if the story is true or not. It's a fact that many millions of Americans have no health coverage and that they are deprived of preventative care and only given emergrency care. This story could have been hypothetical and it would still hold water.

Gay Gary

I'd be real interested to see if TBTL is really doing better

Inspired by a correspondence with BW I tuned-in to TBTL on Friday for a bit, en route to the Crescent, so as to catch-up on the comings and goings of that show. Their main guest, a 20-y/o college student who was supposed to be a typical TBTL listener, at one point mentioned that Dave Ross has long been his favorite host on KIRO.

There was an ever-so-brief pause as the gravity of that statement sunk in.

If that statement can be taken as representative:

- TBTL has earned a loyal coterie of listeners but they are, apparently and for the most part, people who were listening to KIRO anyway.

- Has TBTL simply shucked off the 35+ crowd and kept the handful of 18-34s who were listening to KIRO anyway, without necessarily attracting any new listeners in that demo?

I wouldn't be entirely surprised if KIRO's 7-10PM audience has had an aggregate drop of X% but brand loyalty among remaining Y% has increased Q # of times. Unfortunately I don't think rate cards are set by how much your audience enjoys your program ...

I say give the AM band another 10 years and then convert the US to longwave broadcasting so national programs and emergency communications can continue terrestrial output without the need for affiliate stations.

Gay Gary

Actually, according to the Guide to Planetary Defense -

http://www.amazon.com/Introduction-Planetary-Defense-Extra-Terrestrial-Invasion/dp/1581124473

- we should be nixing broadcasting altogether in favor of things like satellite radio. According to chapter 2 of that book we need to reduce our noise to avoid being spotted by a potentially hostile alien race. The authors suggest communications need to be grounded, point-to-point, so we're not beaming out as much static into space as we are at present!
I concur!

Catlin Capital

Does anybody have the ratings for Ron and Don?

This show is so awful I can't imagine anyone listening to it.

The guys take the opposite sides to every story and shout back in forth about nothing. The "dumbing" down of this show almost appears intentional. The show is a complete hoax...basically high school theatre.

Please give me some insight as to why this show remains on the air.

Nice try Duff and so much for the Dave Ross verification. Hillary healthcare? You really are delussional

OK I asked before and I will ask again... Does ANYONE here have the ratings for KIRO during the different times of the day? I've visited one site and only shows they are ahead of KOMO.

WHO IS THE PERSON WITH THE INFO???? So many here think they are experts, show us!

TBTL SUCKS ***

Catlin Capital

I try to listen to Ron and Don but it's embarassing radio.

Are they playing to the lowest common denominator or are they the lowest common denominator? What is with the fake laughter?

It's a shame that KIRO has come this:

-Two failed FM DJs talking nonesense

-TBTL...Too Bad To Listen!

Jo

I hate to admit it, but TBTL has really grown on me. I find it entertaining when I get a chance to listen.

Dori I can do without. I liked him when he was Pat Kashman's sidekick, but his ego got in the way once he had his own show.

Jo

OH and I am definitely over 35

Andrew

It's hit and miss big time. Awesome/Not Awesome is fun but sometimes I tune in and hear them reading lines from movies or Luke hitting on the board operator - that I can't use.

Duffman

I'm a little older than '35' and I've locked on to TBTL. I think Luke Burbank is an incredible talent. His recall ability and quick mind and clear enunciating comes across very well especially in comparison with some talk hosts that have 'made it' (so to speak). I've gotten past the 'sillyness' aspect of the program and enjoy even those portions of the show. I think 'Jen' supports him very well and is an excellent producer in her own rite. She appears to be a very hard worker and organizer and is to Luke what Ed McMahn was to Johnny Carson. The program is lite, but picks up on the news to some degree (announcing 'immediately' the outcome of the NCAA Championship game the other nite). To me this show is a winner, primarily because of the cast of characters and the 'looseness' of format (although I speculate that Jen keeps it very organized and the percieved 'looseness' is contrived).

Duffman

Oh My Toto...don't listen to that bad munchkin.
