These people who get payed to opine loudly have to put out opinion that seems urgent in order to get a paycheck, and it's getting annoying how they critique chess moves that haven't been made. The next primary isn't tomorrow or the day after but you can bet Rush and that other guy I've never heard of will have some startling new development or angle to spotlight and get all worked up about while Hillary and Obama are likely snoozing somewhere with their eye masks on.
The most blatantly flawed aspect of both of their arguments is the assumption that their campaign maneuvering or Rush Limbaughs goofy radio scheme has everything to do with the current standings, and that it can't POSSIBLY be due to long standing cultural dynamics that where at play long before and will be long after. For all we know they could have not campaigned at all and the numbers would be exactly the same.
The reverand Wright went on TV yesterday and put his foot in his mouth, or so we should believe, and they are trying their hardest to conveince us that this is a bombshell and a devestating blow to Obama, but a day later I hear crickets.
Ray T was discussing this today. I think Talliferro is spot on, for wanting to have Limbaugh arrested for violations of various FCC rules of conduct to incite rioting.
In that case, they need to arrest Al Sharpton for saying if the SD's don't vote the popular vote delegate winner as the nominee then there's going to be trouble, since we all know what trouble is when it comes to Democratic Conventions with the history of 1968 Chicago and all.
Al Sharpton isn't broadcasting rioting nor has he endorsed any candidates yet. Limbaugh is beholden to FCC mandates and as such is subject to fines and imprisonment. Propagandists with mics like Lord Haw Haw, Tokyo Rose and now Missouri Fats need to be dealt with.
Sharpton has a track record for starting trouble. Wasn't a man in NYC killed by some nutjob that Sharpton got all riled up over those damn Koreans (or Jews, maybe) having shops in Harlem and stealing from the hood? And Tawany Brawley. He's got a laundry list of starting things that should never have been started.
Here's a group doing some planning:
www.recreate68.org
Gee, I wonder what happened in 1968 that made it famous? Was there a riot? Did a Democrat mayor have the cops breakup a group of Democrat hatemongers from trying to disrupt the Democratic convention?
Rush hasn't incited any riots, he just said he hopes it happens because it would show the left for who they really are, so put your brown shirts and jackboots back in the closet. There isn't a single Republican who's going to go to Denver and try and COINTELPRO a group of anti-American freaks, like this recreate68 group, to start a riot.
If there is a riot, it would be great TV and at least make part of the convention worth watching. Otherwise, any riots that might take place will only be started by disgruntled liberals who, for whatever reason, can't seem to get over the fact that they've been marginalized for years now and will remain marginalized. You know, they might want to ask themselves sometimes "Why are we continually marginalized?" and then stop believing themselves when they lay the blame at the "corporate media" or some other entity, and start realizing that they're the self-appointed "intelligenisia" of whom everyone else recognizes as being nothing but a bunch of idiots.
Adios amigos; I'll be out for a while - joanie you're in charge; please take attendance and don't let ANYone beat up on Hillary.
Feel free to discuss amongst yourselves and try to make yourselves 'useful'.
You rally want to imprison those who are wanting to incite a riot? Here you go:
"Denver could face a "dangerous situation" on the eve of the Democratic National Convention, war protesters said Thursday, after losing a coveted permit for Civic Center to the convention host committee.
"When things blow up because the police have to enforce a permit that the Democrats got, don’t blame us for that," said Glenn Spagnuolo, an organizer for the Re-create 68 Alliance.
"Blame the Democrats for trying to silence dissent in the city of Denver."
Tell us, RedmondDimwit, you want to venture what Glenn Spagnuolo means and what he is planning? I'm pretty sure most people can read that and know to what he is refering, that there could be trouble in the streets, a riot maybe.
Nah, couldn't be. He must be making reference to throwing rose pedals on the sidewalks and pracing in the park with unicorns and rainbows.
War protesters have been pretty tame for 40 years, I don't see any buildings blowing up much like crazy Tim McVeigh did in OKC. Limbaugh, another crazy guy is hoping so.
Well Jim, sorry you can't engage in a discussion without name calling. But more importantly, you seem to think having riots will be a good idea.
That says a lot about you, none of it very good, and not very surprising I guess. You also did not answer my question, but now I understand why. No facts, just like Tommy( only your statement was 'damn Koreans, or Jews').
Pushing a local host to the brink and being a major factor in his murder? That's "reprehensible journalism."
Creating lies about the professional working relationships between morning news annoucers? That's "reprehensible journalism."
Attacking people on their education for no reasion other than to make yourself feel superior? That's "reprehensible journalism."
Besides, Rush is NOT a journalist. He's an entertainer. He gets huge ratings, generates huge advertising revenue....and there's not a damn thing you can do about it.
Amazing- I find myself in agreement with Krugman (who I seldom if ever agree with) with his take Obama. He is in the tank for Clinton though. Obama is indeed the Chauncey Gardner (played by Peter Sellers) of this campaign. He's the quintessential empty suit, but a tricky one - a very good orator, but is sly about giving much away about who he is. If someone in the alternative media had not found the YouTube videos of Jeremiah Wright, he would have never brought him up; the same with William Ayers. Ironically, those two individuals had a big influence of who he really is and wanted to conceal. He has been the darling of the mainstream media and they don't care about researching him because he sounds so wonderful. They contribute greatly to this being an increasingly dumbed down society in the midst of so many technological advancements.
There is a disease called "Bush derangement syndrome" which has affected many people and politicians alike and helped shape the caliber of candidates we have, which is not good. From now until the end of his term, Bush is the most unpopular President of our time. John McCain has his shortcomings - but definitely less than Bush (even Sen. Obama agreed with that). He is the lesser of the other two evils, IMHO.
Thanks Rush, for laying out your strategy very clearly. And thank you, Mr. Hood, for (as Andrew Sullivan says,) helping us see what is "in front of one's nose."
Right on Freakin'. One of these days, some of the victims of Hood's reprehensible "journalism" will look him up, and then see how he holds up under the "interview."
